Urban Martial Saint

At Mount Wendao, Wanyan Second Master and his people had already set everything up and were about to launch the attack. They had confirmed information that Ye Qing and the Sword Saint Sect were on Mount Wendao, and he had already drawn up the attack strategy.

However, the phone call from the family instantly left him torn.

Wanyan Second Master had just put down the phone and his brows were tightly knitted. He had guessed that Wanyan Hongsheng would escape from prison, but he hadn’t expected that after breaking out Wanyan Hongsheng would pull something this big—using a bomb to blow up Wanyan Hongfeng. Now that Wanyan Hongfeng had issued a kill-on-sight order, he felt awful. After all, Wanyan Hongsheng was his own blood brother. He had never imagined things would blow up to this point; now there was absolutely no room left to smooth things over.

But Wanyan Second Master was not like Wanyan Hongfeng; he really didn’t want to treat this younger brother with a kill-without-mercy attitude. He simply couldn’t bring himself to do fratricide. Yet Wanyan Hongfeng’s order had already gone out—what could he do?

Just as Wanyan Second Master was pondering, the phone by his side rang again. He glanced at it; it was the family calling again. Wanyan Second Master frowned, thinking they were urging him to send people to hunt down Wanyan Hongsheng, and couldn’t help cursing, ”We’re brothers—do they really have to push this hard?”

He picked up the phone, hesitated for a moment, then still switched it to silent mode and ignored it. He truly didn’t want to go kill Wanyan Hongsheng; he was really afraid this call was Wanyan Hongfeng telling him to immediately send people after Wanyan Hongsheng, so he decided not to answer. Later he’d just say the battle had already started—if he could stall for a bit, he would.

He slipped the phone into his pocket, then Wanyan Second Master immediately stood up, walked out of the car, looked at the people outside, and said loudly, ”All right, all attack plans have been locked in. Everyone turn off your phones now. For the next stretch of time we’re going to throw everything into the assault on Mount Wendao. If we win, every one of you will be a meritorious servant of the Wanyan Family, and the rewards when we return will be plentiful. So you must be at full alert—best if we crush them completely in one battle!”

Everyone grew excited, all took out their phones and turned them off, and under Wanyan Second Master’s arrangements headed toward Mount Wendao.

Wanyan Second Master stood at the rear. His order for everyone to shut off their phones had been a spur-of-the-moment decision—he was afraid the family would start calling other people’s phones, which would be troublesome. He didn’t want to concern himself with Wanyan Hongsheng’s matter at all now, so he had to start the battle as quickly as possible and ignore everything else.

Inside Wan Yan Manor in Shenchuan City, that man had called three times in a row, and Wanyan Second Master hadn’t answered. He was instantly helpless. Turning to Wanyan Hongfeng, he said, ”Family Head, Second Master… he’s not answering anymore…”

”Not answering?” Wanyan Hongfeng’s brows pinched together. ”What’s going on? How could he not pick up?”

”Has the battle already started over there?” a Peak Master asked in a low voice.

”Not necessarily. It could also be that Second Master is busy and hasn’t noticed his phone. How about we call someone else?”

Hearing this, Wanyan Hongfeng immediately nodded. ”Right, switch to someone else and call.”

The man dialed more than ten numbers in succession, all belonging to people following Wanyan Second Master. But every number was already switched off—the calls simply wouldn’t go through. That thoroughly panicked everyone. None of them were idiots; under these circumstances they all understood that the battle over there had probably begun, which was why everyone had turned off their phones.

Wanyan Hongfeng was the most frustrated of them all, his brows tightly furrowed. Like this, there was no way he could stop this battle. The battle of Mount Wendao had become utterly unavoidable. Yet this battle couldn’t be fought—what was he supposed to do?

After thinking for a moment, Wanyan Hongfeng suddenly grit his teeth and said in a deep voice, ”Prepare a plane. We’re going to Mount Wendao!”

At these words, everyone on scene was stunned. Wanyan Hongfeng was taking Mount Wendao way too seriously. It was still more than one thousand kilometers away from here, and he was going to fly there personally—was this matter really that important? Besides, Wanyan Hongfeng had always refused to travel by plane. What was going on this time?

Seeing no one move, Wanyan Hongfeng grew angry. He glared at them and shouted, ”What are you all standing around for? Hurry and get me a plane ready!”

Only then did everyone snap out of it, and two people immediately ran out to arrange it. Wanyan Hongfeng didn’t stay outside either, but went straight into the Dungeon.

The man guarding the Dungeon didn’t know why Wanyan Hongfeng was entering and followed nervously behind him. But before they reached the Dungeon entrance, Wanyan Hongfeng stopped him.

”You stay out here on watch. I’ll go in alone!” Wanyan Hongfeng barked in a deep voice.

”This…” The man froze for a moment, but he really didn’t dare follow him in.

Entering the Dungeon, Wanyan Hongfeng walked straight to the cell where Wanyan Hongsheng had originally been locked up. There were six or seven Guards standing at the door now, and the Guard whose Acupoints had just been pressed by Wanyan Hongsheng was also standing here. The Guard’s mouth was still mumbling nonstop, but he couldn’t get a single word out. With these Guards’ level of strength, they were nowhere near enough to unlock his Acupoints.

Seeing Wanyan Hongfeng come in, all the Guards were startled and hurriedly straightened their backs. That Guard whose Acupoints had been pressed was even more panic‑stricken; he had no idea what Wanyan Hongfeng was going to do with him.

”All of you, get out!” Wanyan Hongfeng barked coldly.

The Guards truly didn’t dare linger here, and rushed out in a fluster. Only the Guard whose Acupoints had been pressed was left alone. Looking at Wanyan Hongfeng, he was so scared his whole body shook. Wanyan Hongsheng had escaped right in front of him; Wanyan Hongfeng definitely wouldn’t let him off. Even though he was also a member of the Wanyan Family, Wanyan Hongfeng could even refuse to spare his own blood brother, let alone someone who wasn’t that close to him.

Wanyan Hongfeng walked up to the Guard, casually pointed through the air, and the Acupoints on the Guard’s body were instantly released. The Guard let out a breath of relief, and the first thing he did when he came to his senses was to immediately kneel on the ground, his voice trembling as he said, ”Family Head, this matter has… has nothing to do with me…”

Wanyan Hongfeng frowned slightly. He hadn’t even questioned him yet, and the Guard was already rushing to shirk responsibility. That really displeased him.

”What did Wanyan Hongsheng say when he left?” Wanyan Hongfeng asked in a deep voice.

The Guard didn’t dare be negligent, and hurriedly repeated everything Wanyan Hongsheng had said before, including how Wanyan Hongsheng had called Wanyan Hongfeng a dog‑thief. Hearing those two words, dog‑thief, Wanyan Hongfeng’s expression grew as dark as ink. He had only wanted to scare Wanyan Hongsheng a little, and at the same time intimidate that Five-Winged God in his body. But Wanyan Hongsheng had resisted to such an extent, and even cursed him as a dog‑thief. It seemed Wanyan Hongsheng had completely turned against him. Apparently, Wanyan Hongsheng truly wasn’t going to come back, and the killing intent Wanyan Hongfeng harbored toward him grew even heavier.

After he finished speaking, the Guard nervously looked at Wanyan Hongfeng again, his voice shaking as he said, ”Family Head, th‑this… this was all Wanyan Hongsheng forcing me to say it. I wouldn’t dare harbor the slightest disrespect toward you. But Wanyan Hongsheng’s strength is just too great, your subordinate… your subordinate was simply no match for him, so he escaped. Th‑this really can’t be blamed on your subordinate…”

”Can’t blame you, so we should blame me instead?” Wanyan Hongfeng’s face turned icy as he glared furiously at the Guard.

The Guard shuddered with fright. Looking at Wanyan Hongfeng, for the first time he realized he’d said the wrong thing. He’d been pushing responsibility away this whole time, and that left Wanyan Hongfeng greatly dissatisfied with him.

”Family Head, th‑this… I… I know I was wrong…” the Guard hurriedly said.

”What wrong do you know? Didn’t you say this matter has nothing to do with you?” Wanyan Hongfeng said in a sinister tone.

Cold sweat streamed down the Guard’s back from fear. He just wanted to explain, but Wanyan Hongfeng had already reached out and grabbed his neck, yanking him directly in front of himself.

”Family Head…” The Guard cried out in alarm, but before he could get out more than those two words, Wanyan Hongfeng’s fingernail had already scraped across his neck. Fresh blood spurted out in a rush. Wanyan Hongfeng opened his mouth, and that blood seemed to be drawn by some kind of force, turning into a straight line that poured directly into his mouth. Wanyan Hongfeng opened wide, gulping the blood down, glug, glug, swallowing it all into his belly. The Guard’s body visibly shriveled, as if all the blood inside him had been sucked completely dry by Wanyan Hongfeng.

In the end, the Guard was practically drained alive into a dried corpse. Only then did Wanyan Hongsheng release his hand and fling the corpse to the side. Wiping the bloodstains from the corner of his mouth, a red gleam flashed in Wanyan Hongsheng’s eyes, and his whole aura grew several shades more gloomy.

”In the end, you still couldn’t hold back!” The voice of the Five-Winged God suddenly rang out. ”You really insist on drinking Human Blood for cultivation?”

Wanyan Hongfeng said coldly, ”For the sake of the family, even if I bear infamy for ten thousand generations, so what!”

”Oh? Really?” The Five-Winged God let out a chilly laugh. ”You’ve certainly sacrificed a lot for this family. But who will appreciate it? Your third brother has betrayed you; your second brother, I’d say he’s not far off either. Do you truly think they’re at war and that’s why they won’t pick up your calls?”

Wanyan Hongfeng’s face turned grim. In fact, he also suspected this, thinking Wanyan Second Master was deliberately refusing to answer him. After all, they’d just talked on the phone not long ago, and less than five minutes later, when he called again, no one picked up. That was far too off. And on top of that, everyone’s phones were switched off, which only made him more suspicious that Wanyan Second Master had done it on purpose.

”No matter how much you do for this family, your end will still be one of universal rejection and abandonment. Even if your clan truly manages to seize control of everything, so what?” The Five-Winged God sneered. ”To protect the family, you risked taking a plane just to go to Mount Wendao. But how many people will remember your good deeds? How many people understand that once a cultivator surpasses the Acme of a Peak Master, he stands too close to the heavens, and will draw down Heavenly Retribution? Yet you dare get on a plane. Hmph, I’m afraid you might lose your life in the sky before you even make it to Mount Wendao this time!”
