Urban Martial Saint

Seeing that Ye Qing had retrieved the Dragon-breaking Knife, the group from the Sword Saint Sect felt immense gratitude towards Ye Qing. It’s important to know that this Dragon-breaking Knife is a relic left by the Knife Saint, and is now the only spiritual pillar for the Sword Saint Sect. If this item were lost, the members of the Sword Saint Sect probably wouldn’t be able to accept it.

Ye Qing risked his life to bring back this Dragon-breaking Knife, and especially since he was almost killed underwater by the attack of the Water Grass Giant. This made the members of the Sword Saint Sect even more grateful to Ye Qing.

Previously, the members of the Sword Saint Sect respected Ye Qing because he could wield the Dragon-breaking Knife, due to the Knife Saint’s legacy. However, their reverence for Ye Qing now comes from their hearts. Not to mention, retrieving the Dragon-breaking Knife this time, there aren’t many people who could achieve that!

Ye Qing took a short rest, and everyone tidied up. Before daybreak, several sect leaders of the Sword Saint Sect approached Ye Qing, clasped their fists, and bowed, respectfully saying, ”Alliance Leader Ye, time is short, where should we go next?”

Ye Qing knew that these several sect leaders of the Sword Saint Sect had never left the Sword Saint Sect before. So now, in this situation, they themselves don’t know where to go.

In fact, even Ye Qing himself was somewhat at a loss about where to go in this situation. Although the Sword Saint Sect is powerful and has the strength to contend with the Wanyan Family, the key problem is that the Sword Saint Sect cannot confront the Wanyan Family head-on. The Wanyan Family has two trump cards, the scabbard of the Minghong Knife and the swarm of millions of Long-toothed Rats, which are things that the Sword Saint Sect cannot withstand. If these two items aren’t dealt with, defeating the Wanyan Family is simply impossible.

However, everyone was looking at him, and Ye Qing had to make a decision. As the Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance, if even he was at a loss, the World Alliance would surely fall into chaos.

After pondering for a while, Ye Qing slowly raised his head and said, ”The current Wanyan Family has two difficult trump cards, one is the scabbard of the Minghong Knife, and the second is the swarm of Long-toothed Rats. To deal with the Wanyan Family, these two trump cards must be addressed first.”

”Both trump cards of the Wanyan Family are not easy to handle!” The Second Sect Leader said with a full face of dejection. They hadn’t experienced the Wanyan Family’s swarm of Long-toothed Rats before, so they didn’t pay much attention to it. After witnessing the swarm yesterday, they fully understood why the Wanyan Family was so arrogant and overbearing. This swarm of Long-toothed Rats is infinitely powerful, there’s nothing to oppose it.

As for the scabbard of the Minghong Knife, as it’s an item that can shield against Heavenly Retribution, it goes without saying. If this item exists, the Wanyan Family would be invincible in the Unity of Heaven and Man realm. Although there are four Peak Masters in the Sword Saint Sect, when really pitting against the Wanyan Family, they would certainly suffer losses.

Therefore, Ye Qing’s notion of confronting these two trump cards seemed impossible to the sect leaders of the Sword Saint Sect.

”According to the Knife Saint’s words, the swarm of Long-toothed Rats has a natural enemy.” Helian Tiehua walked over from the side, looking at everyone and said, ”Yet, we do not know what this natural enemy that Knife Saint mentioned is, do we?”

The sect leaders of the Sword Saint Sect looked at each other in dismay. Although the Knife Saint had said such a thing, they didn’t know what the natural enemy of the swarm of Long-toothed Rats was either.

”Usually, the natural enemies of rats are cats.” The Fourth Sect Master of the Sword Saint Sect muttered softly, ”How about we get some cats to fight against this swarm of Long-toothed Rats?”

”That’s nonsense!” The Sect Leader of the Sword Saint Sect shook his head directly, ”Generally, cats are indeed natural enemies of rats, but the problem is, look at how many rats there are. This swarm is claimed to be millions strong; if you gather some cats, at most, they’ll just be snacks for them.”

”Then, can’t we also gather millions of cats?” The Fourth Sect Master whispered.

Everyone exchanged glances, and then Helian Tiehua was the first to shake his head, saying, ”Millions of cats, let alone whether we have the time to gather them. Even if we were able to gather millions of cats, I reckon they wouldn’t be able to take on the swarm of Long-toothed Rats. Don’t forget, that swarm is well-trained, just like a military. They have no fear of any natural enemy, and are extremely bloodthirsty, with organized attacks and retreats. Under such circumstances, gathering millions of cats with no training, wouldn’t achieve any victory against the swarm of Long-toothed Rats. Moreover, the Wanyan Family wouldn’t give us time to gather such a number of cats!”

Helian Tiehua’s analysis made everyone shake their heads in agreement, it indeed was such a situation. Now the most critical issue is the matter of quantity. Once the Wanyan Family leaves the Sword Saint Sect, they will immediately start hunting them down. In such a situation, it’s not just a matter of gathering millions of cats; they might not have time to escape, let alone think about other things.

Actually, Ye Qing had an idea. In the last battle at Mount Wendao, Ye Qing already noticed that the snake swarm at Mount Wendao has the ability to deal with the swarm of Long-toothed Rats. But the problem is, the swarm of Long-toothed Rats at Mount Wendao only numbered at twenty thousand. In reality, the Wanyan Family’s swarm is in the millions. Although the snake swarm of Mount Wendao could defeat twenty thousand Long-toothed Rats, could it defeat millions?

Millions and twenty thousand are entirely different concepts! If Mount Wendao’s snake swarm can’t defeat millions of Long-toothed Rats, leading them to Mount Wendao would mean disaster for Mount Wendao, and Ye Qing doesn’t want to bring such calamity upon Mount Wendao. Thus, even though he has an idea concerning Mount Wendao, Ye Qing doesn’t dare to try lightly and is contemplating other methods.

Afterwards, Helian Tiehua and the members of the Sword Saint Sect proposed many ideas, but all were eventually overturned. It’s also because the swarm of Long-toothed Rats is overwhelmingly numerous, they simply can’t withstand such numbers. This war is inherently unwinnable!

After a bit of debate, daylight gradually dawned. Seeing the sky lighten with the white of dawn, Ye Qing waved his hand to signal everyone to stop discussing and solemnly said, ”We will discuss these matters once we’re out. We’ve wasted quite a bit of time here, and if the Wanyan Family leaves the Sword Saint Sect, they will certainly come searching for us first. So, let’s leave here first before anything else.”

Ye Qing’s proposal was naturally met with unanimous agreement, everyone wanted to leave here first. But now, upon leaving, where should they go?

Everyone again looked collectively at Ye Qing, who was now their pillar; where to go would depend on how Ye Qing arranges it.

After thinking for a while, Ye Qing suddenly took a deep breath and said, ”Let’s go to the Northern Desert!”

”Northern Desert?” Everyone was stunned, wondering why Ye Qing chose this place? You must know that the Northern Desert is the location of Wan Yan Manor, the stronghold of the Wanyan Family. Choosing to go to the Northern Desert is akin to running to the Wanyan Family’s doorstep!

Seeing everyone’s varied expressions, Ye Qing smiled and said, ”Although the Northern Desert is where Wan Yan Manor is located, don’t forget, the elites of the Wanyan Family are still in the South, in Shenchuan City. At this time, Wan Yan Manor is bound to be the most poorly defended. The Wanyan Family has bullied us to this extent; no matter what, we have to go claim some interest first!”

Upon hearing this, everyone understood Ye Qing’s intent. He wants to go to the Northern Desert, actually intending to stealthily attack Wan Yan Manor, to go collect some interest from there. And this notion was very pleasing to everyone. As Ye Qing said, they have endured much from the Wanyan Family, and want to seek vengeance too. Now Ye Qing suggests going to the Northern Desert to reclaim some interest, naturally, everyone unanimously agreed.

The route to the back mountain is quite familiar to the people of the Sword Saint Sect. Under their guidance, Ye Qing and the group left the mountain range quickly. Outside the sect, the Sword Saint Sect has several branch organizations. After leaving the mountain, the Sword Saint Sect members immediately contacted several branches from where a vehicle was quickly dispatched. The group left the region of Thousand Dragon Lake without delay, as the Wanyan Family members were now coming from the Sword Saint Sect.

On the road, Helian Tiehua also contacted his private plane. The group headed straight to the airport, and before noon, without even having lunch, they boarded the plane, bound for Tianzhao City in the Northern Desert. The plane landed in Tianzhao City by four in the afternoon.

Although the weather in the South was already quite hot, the Northern Desert remained utterly cold. However, all of them were leading experts, and such coldness was nothing to them. The only different one was Fat Wang, who, upon deplaning, still had a blanket draped over him. As he descended, he complained to Ye Qing, ”Why did you have to drag me over here for your matters? I’m just a grave robber; you can’t let me focus on such a promising profession of tomb-robbing? Damn, what kind of place is this? Fat Lord’s throat is frozen solid.”

No one paid attention to Fat Wang as Ye Qing walked forward while calling Old Wang Ba, desiring him to immediately bring the Yelu Family people and Huangfu Ziyu out of Shenchuan City. Now that the Wanyan Family members were victorious at the Sword Saint Sect, they would certainly head to Shenchuan City straight away. If they stayed in Shenchuan City, they would definitely be captured by the Wanyan Family. Ye Qing wouldn’t want those on his side to fall into the hands of the Wanyan Family, as it would put him at a disadvantage.

However, upon calling Old Wang Ba, Ye Qing learned that they had already departed Shenchuan City and hadn’t lingered there at all.
