Urban Martial Saint

The Knife Saint Sect Master has indeed considered meticulously and comprehensively, thus he forced Ye Qing to become the new Sect Master of Knife Saint Sect.

Moreover, although Ye Qing and the Knife Saint Sect have some grievances, they aren’t deep. Even the Knife Saint personally said that Ye Qing would help Knife Saint Sect members, which greatly diminished the resentment the sect members held towards Ye Qing. Otherwise, when encountering Ye Qing in this tomb, they would have already started fighting.

Now that the grievances between Knife Saint Sect members and Ye Qing have been mostly settled because of the Knife Saint’s words. Furthermore, the Knife Saint Sect Master has no choice since the sect has reached this plight. He recalled the Knife Saint’s words, which mentioned that Ye Qing saved Helian Tiehua and others, and in return, Ye Qing should help preserve the Knife Saint Sect. It seems the Knife Saint spoke with some knowledge; otherwise, he wouldn’t have said that. This implies Ye Qing indeed has the ability to save the Knife Saint Sect!

The sect master of Knife Saint Sect isn’t concerned about how Ye Qing can save the sect; his admiration for the Knife Saint borders on blind faith. Since Knife Saint has spoken, he absolutely trusts Ye Qing has the power; hence he’s determined to hand over the sect to Ye Qing and let him preserve it.

Helian Tiehua and others were visibly excited that even the sect master spoke such words. It means, doesn’t it, that all future power of Knife Saint Sect would be in Ye Qing’s hands?

This is indeed a critical matter, especially since now the Wanyan Family controls most of the elite masters in the world, making survival itself a struggle for them. At this point, if Knife Saint Sect joined their side, not to mention survival, they would even have the strength to challenge the Wanyan Family. For them, this development is akin to a heaven-sent blessing.

”Alliance Leader Ye...” Helian Tiehua faced away from Knife Saint Sect members, winked at Ye Qing, and said, ”The Wanyan Family will be here any moment. Since you have already taken up the Dragon-breaking Knife, please say something. You can’t just watch the Knife Saint Sect’s three hundred-year legacy get completely wiped out here, can you?”

Knife Saint Sect members turned to look at Ye Qing together; even some who were initially resentful admitted defeat since the sect master instructed them. Moreover, everyone saw Ye Qing pick up the Dragon-breaking Knife—it was beyond their control.

Ye Qing was unaware of the involvement of so many issues with the Dragon-breaking Knife. He glanced at the knife in his hand and listened to the relentless approaching footsteps, knowing his time was limited. If he didn’t issue a command now, when the Wanyan family arrives, many lives would be lost here.

Having no other choice, Ye Qing took a deep breath and solemnly said, ”I’m afraid I can’t become the sect master of Knife Saint Sect. However, if everyone trusts me, I’ll issue an order first. Now, all members of Knife Saint Sect, swiftly carry the wounded on your back and follow me out of here!”

Knife Saint Sect members immediately looked at the sect master, pondering whether to heed Ye Qing’s words since he refused the sect master position.

The sect master intended to push Ye Qing into leadership, but with the footsteps growing closer, there was no time to address such matters. He took a deep breath and said, ”Regardless, since Alliance Leader Ye has taken up the Dragon-breaking Knife, he is our new sect master. We must abide by the new sect master’s command. Okay, as instructed, carry the wounded and swiftly leave here!”

With the sect master’s command, Knife Saint Sect members immediately took action, for they had no desire to linger here. The Wanyan family was about to arrive; staying would mean leaving their lives behind.

Ye Qing listened as the Knife Saint Sect Master referred to him as the new sect master, initially intending to object. But seeing the sect members hastily carrying the wounded, Ye Qing closed his mouth. The Wanyan family was nearly upon them, and nothing could go wrong at such a crucial moment.

If he insisted on denying it now, it would cause further complications, and that’s dangerous with the Wanyan family about to enter. The longer they delayed, the riskier it became.

Witnessing Knife Saint Sect members obey Ye Qing’s command, Helian Tiehua was pleased as it greatly strengthened their side. Even if confronting the Wanyan family, they now had a chance to turn the tide.

”Everyone, come help our friends from Knife Saint Sect!” Helian Tiehua shouted, leading the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance to assist, with others following suit.

Elsewhere, others didn’t hesitate, helping lift Knife Saint Sect’s wounded as they ran toward the entrance Ye Qing came from.

Knife Saint Sect didn’t have many severely wounded; more members had their inner strength drained by the Dragon-breaking Knife, leaving them unable to stand. Most sect members were in this condition and couldn’t carry so many out. Even carrying one each, many would have to be left behind. But with Helian Tiehua’s help, they managed to bring everyone from Knife Saint Sect.

Ye Qing stood at the back, holding the Dragon-breaking Knife, watching everyone enter the passage one by one, feeling relieved himself. The sect master of Knife Saint Sect also headed toward the end, and seeing everyone enter, he approached Ye Qing and bowed, ”Sect Master, please enter as well; we’ll cover the rear.”

”Please don’t call me that; I’m unworthy to become the sect master of Knife Saint Sect!” Ye Qing waved his hands repeatedly.

”Sect Master...” the sect master attempted to speak when suddenly footsteps sounded from the entrance. Everyone turned to see several Wanyan Family members had charged over, finally arriving after much delay.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, the sect master didn’t have the time to debate with Ye Qing anymore; he quickly stood in front of Ye Qing and solemnly commanded, ”Fourth Brother, lead the new sect master out first; Second Brother, Third Brother, remain here to cover the rear!”

”Yes!” the sect leaders shouted simultaneously; the Fourth Sect Master approached Ye Qing, bowed slightly, and said, ”Sect Master, let’s leave first!”

Ye Qing looked at the approaching Wanyan Family members and then at those sect masters, knowing they were powerful and staying would hinder them. So without further talk, Ye Qing swiftly entered the passage.

On the other side, the sect master alongside the Second and Third Sect Masters guarded the entrance, observing the increasing number of Wanyan Family members without panic. Their skills were formidable, and no member of the Wanyan Family coming this way posed a significant threat as none were beyond peerless masters.

As the three Knife Saint Sect Masters guarded the entrance, the Wanyan Family members paused in surprise, aware of the sect master’s prowess. With their strength, none dared approach, merely standing and spectating. Even though the Wanyan Family’s beyond peerless master was yet to arrive, the sect masters successfully held the entrance, preventing their pursuit.

After ensuring the members had traveled far enough inside, the three sect masters also entered the passage. Although strong, they weren’t foolish enough to linger. After all, Wanyan Hongfeng wielded the scabbard of the Minghong Knife; besides, the Wanyan Family possessed a Divine Clan corpse. Should these threats arrive, things would become exceedingly troublesome.

Seeing the three Knife Saint Sect Masters enter the passage, the Wanyan Family members hurriedly attempted pursuit. However, upon reaching the entrance, none dared to enter. Previously, those at the rear were three beyond peerless masters. Entering now meant directly chasing those masters, tantamount to seeking death.

Hesitant to enter, the Wanyan Family members suddenly heard urgent footsteps behind them. Turning, they saw Wanyan Hongfeng approaching with the Corpse Ghost Dragon and the Fifth Sect Leader. Energized by the sight, Wanyan Family members eagerly reported the earlier events to Wanyan Hongfeng.

Previously unaware of Knife Saint Sect’s hidden passage, Wanyan Hongfeng attempted to find the sect members, eventually recalling the secret path. After using the Long-toothed Rat Swarm to search Knife Saint Sect’s area, the passage came to light, prompting their immediate pursuit. Now, learning all members entered the passage, Wanyan Hongfeng promptly led the Corpse Ghost Dragon and Fifth Sect Leader in pursuit. The remaining sect members followed, confident that a top master was ahead, making the passage relatively safe.

This passage was personally left by the Knife Saint, containing one hundred and eight formations. In essence, these formations activate only when entering from outside. Exiting from within keeps them dormant; thus, the passage resembles a regular stone corridor. This highlights the Knife Saint’s expertese in formation mastery.

Undoubtedly, the passage was prepared for Knife Saint Sect members’ escape. When the Knife Saint created it, he likely anticipated such a day. Now, the path aptly serves its purpose.

Despite their mastery, rushing through this passage diminishes their Qinggong advantages. Due to the passage’s darkness and narrowness, even superior agility skills struggle to manifest.
