Urban Martial Saint

It was relatively easy to walk out of the cave, without obstructions. Ye Qing swam across the underground reservoir, reached the pit connecting to the underground river channel, and pushed along the pit, directly arriving at the underground river channel outside.

Of course, there is actually a mysterious iron chain in this cave that directly connects to the outside. If Ye Qing grabbed this mysterious iron chain to go out, it would naturally be more convenient. However, after what happened just now, and after seeing the legacy left by Ancestor Chen Tuan, Ye Qing really dared not disturb the evil demon in that pit again.

Those water grass giants just now were dragged in by the evil demon when they pulled this mysterious iron chain. Now that Ye Qing has gotten rid of these water grass giants, he doesn’t want to touch that mysterious iron chain at all anymore.

As Ye Qing rushed past this pit, he saw the Dragon-breaking Knife placed on the shore. Ye Qing had entered just for this Dragon-breaking Knife, only to experience such an accident, almost losing his life. But fortunately, all the hardships were worth it, not only was the Dragon-breaking Knife still there, but he also obtained the Second Layer’s Nine Charts of the Innate Technique.

Ye Qing walked to the shore and picked up the Dragon-breaking Knife, just about to strap it on his back. At this moment, however, a strange sound suddenly emanated from the underground river, the water cave started bubbling vigorously.

Ye Qing’s face changed slightly, suddenly sensing something ominous. He didn’t have time to strap the Dragon-breaking Knife on his back, hurriedly gripping it tightly, and sprinted towards the exit. Yet, he had only run a few steps when there was a splash behind him. Ye Qing turned his head and saw an actual fountain erupting from the water cave, spraying rapidly outwards, while the surface of the underground river was rising with startling speed, visibly showing how much water was gushing from the water cave.

Having suffered several setbacks in the water just now, nearly leaving his life here, Ye Qing dared not linger any longer. Seeing the situation, he grabbed the Dragon-breaking Knife and raced towards the exit. The surface of the underground river rose quickly, soon threatening to submerge both sides, while Ye Qing arrived at the exit. Seeing the torrent of river water in the underground channel, Ye Qing hesitated not, jumping directly into the water.

Upon hitting the water, Ye Qing barely had time to react when the rapid current swept him into the exit. This underground river channel had no other outlets, so the water rushing out naturally had to exit entirely through this outlet. However, it also facilitated Ye Qing’s departure, allowing the water current to push him through the passage out into the lake outside without any effort.

The lake too now had rapid currents, about the same speed at which Ye Qing initially entered the water. Except now, the current direction was reversed, initially pulling Ye Qing into the pit, whereas now it was pushing him towards the shore.

Since the water current was pushing Ye Qing towards the shore, he stopped resisting, clutching the Dragon-breaking Knife and lying in the water. The current carried Ye Qing swiftly towards the shore, seeing the situation, he estimated that he might not need to exert any effort, the current could carry him to the shore by itself.

Lying in the water, Ye Qing couldn’t help but ponder the origin of this water flow. Initially, when he entered the water, the lake water flowed rapidly into the underground river. Now, the underground river water rushed rapidly into the lake. But Ye Qing knew that the water level of the underground river and the lake were on the same level. Logically, the waters on both sides should not be flowing into each other. Yet, why was this happening? Why did the outside water go in earlier, and now the inside water is gushing out?

Truth be told, the sensation Ye Qing felt was as if there was a water pump in the underground river sucking in the outside water. Later, the pump suddenly stopped working, raising the water level, leading to the rapid outflow of water as if.

Just as Ye Qing was lost in thought, a clump of water grass suddenly struck him from behind. This sudden appearance startled Ye Qing. He obviously knew the significance of water grass in this lake.

As the water grass hit him, Ye Qing immediately grabbed the scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao and slashed at it. Despite clutching the Dragon-breaking Knife, he didn’t use it because the Dragon-breaking Knife was too large, cumbersome, and inflexible.

The slash with the scabbard split the water grass open. Through the time it took, Ye Qing finally got a clear look at the water grass. This water grass, identical to that on the water grass giants before, had tentacles and suckers. But the problem was, this water grass now shrank into a ball and was independent, not growing on anything, which seemed odd. Water grass came over, but the water grass giants did not?

Ye Qing took a careful look at these water grass pieces. They were tangled and messy together. It seemed like a lot of water grass got tangled together and was cut off from those water grass giants. Therefore, only the water grass came out, but none of the water grass giants appeared.

Thinking about this, Ye Qing suddenly remembered the situation he encountered in the evil demon’s cave. These few water grass giants had their intertwining water grass pulled into the pit, disappearing without a trace afterward. Clearly, the tangled water grass here was part of those.

It appeared the water grass giants were left behind, while these tangled water grasses were flushed out by the water flow. How could water grass get washed out? Is the pit connected to the outside reservoir? During the water flow rush, did this clump of water grass get flushed out as well?

Ye Qing remembered that when he entered the cave, water was everywhere, as if soaked. Ye Qing hadn’t thought much of it before, but now realizing it, he suddenly found something peculiar about it. How could there be water in that cave? And moreover, the whole cave was soaked, the only possible explanation was that it got flooded not long ago. But how did the cave get flooded?

Thinking about the pit, observing the water grass around him, Ye Qing suddenly had a bold idea. The pit inside the cave housed an evil demon, could it be this evil demon controlled the water flow? Was outside water sucked in by him, filling the pit, flooding the cave? Then expelling the water afterward, hence the water grass also got flushed out in this scenario? It’s due to this reason that the cave occasionally gets flooded, resulting in so much water stain.

Of course, these were just Ye Qing’s assumptions, he didn’t know if there really was an evil demon in the pit, or what capabilities this demon had. But since the evil demon can be suppressed by the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal, its power certainly wouldn’t be simple, definitely not something Ye Qing could provoke.

While mindingly guessing the situation with the demon, Ye Qing drifted in the water. The current swiftly pushed him towards the shore, requiring no effort. But the problem was, amidst the floating, it’s impossible to rise and catch a breath, he could only hold his breath continually. However, fortunately, his embryonic breathing function enabled him to hold his breath underwater for half an hour, which was sufficient to reach the shore.

Indeed, soon Ye Qing heard a series of joyful shouts from the shore, ”There he is, it’s Alliance Leader Ye!”

”It’s really Alliance Leader Ye, he really came out! He’s really out!”

”Why are you still dawdling, hurry up and drag him ashore!”

All sorts of voices reached Ye Qing’s ears, indicating he wasn’t far from the shore. Holding the Dragon-breaking Knife, he pushed himself hard, exposing part of his body above water. Looking ahead, he saw a crowd on the shore hurriedly jumping into the water to swim towards him. Soon, a few adept swimmers arrived beside Ye Qing, helping to drag him towards the shore.

With the assistance of these few, Ye Qing finally made it back to shore. Laying the Dragon-breaking Knife on the shore, Ye Qing collapsed breathlessly, utterly exhausted, drained of all strength. Spending too long soaking in the water, nearly suffocating several times, this trip indeed put Ye Qing through a perilous ordeal.

However, the crowd didn’t know what exactly Ye Qing experienced underwater. Seeing him take so long to come out, they were curious, bombarding questions at Ye Qing, wondering why he took so long inside.

Frankly, many initially thought Ye Qing had encountered the Wanyan Family and got captured by them. If Ye Qing hadn’t emerged at this time, the crowd might have stormed back in to find him. Ye Qing finally coming out reassured them.

Ye Qing did not mention the demon and Ancestor Chen Tuan’s tomb matters, only speaking of the water grass giants, claiming he met water monsters inside, hence the delay.

Upon hearing about the water grass giants, Helian Tiehua’s crowd exclaimed continuously. Such water monsters are indeed unheard of.

Fat Wang and some people from Sword Saint Sect reacted placidly; Fat Wang had seen the water grass giants with Ye Qing before, thus somewhat prepared. And people from Sword Saint Sect, living here permanently, already knew of the water grass giants. So, hearing Ye Qing encountered water grass giants underwater didn’t shock them much.
