Urban Martial Saint

The Executioner Scholar had previously formed an alliance with the Wanyan Family, but in truth, he knew the power of the Wanyan Family far exceeded that of the four brothers. Under such circumstances, although the four of them were formidable, they could never stand on equal footing with the Wanyan Family.

When the Wanyan Family wanted to use them, they made many promises, speaking sweetly of offering opportunities for longevity and survival. However, once the Wanyan Family controlled everything and entered the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, who would care about their lives and deaths? The Executioner Scholar was no fool; he knew full well that if the Wanyan Family entered the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, their power would undoubtedly become the strongest. By then, no one could rival the Wanyan Family. Even if the Wanyan Family kept their promises to help them extend their lives, they would be under Wanyan control for life, a major reason why the Executioner Scholar was always cautious of the Wanyan Family.

But the Nalan Family was different. The power of the Nalan Family was clearly much weaker than the Wanyan Family; otherwise, Nalan Jingwei as Family Head wouldn’t need to personally intervene. This means that if the Executioner Scholar cooperated with the Nalan Family, he could stand on equal footing with them, having absolute influence. In such a situation, if he could assist the Nalan Family in accessing the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, he might even enter the Gates himself. Moreover, he had plans of controlling the Buddha’s Relic if he and Nalan Jingwei obtained it together, allowing him to surpass the Nalan Family, which was even better. Therefore, cooperation with the Nalan Family was absolutely preferable to partnering with the Wanyan Family.

Of course, the most troublesome issue when cooperating with the Nalan Family is their lack of power. Compared to the Wanyan Family, they were significantly inferior. Therefore, the Nalan Family’s only hope of accessing the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates was through the Buddha’s Relic. Hence, obtaining the Buddha’s Relic this time was crucial. If the Wanyan Family seized it, neither the Executioner Scholar nor the Nalan Family needed to bother.

Understanding these pros and cons, the Executioner Scholar smiled lightly, looked at Nalan Jingwei, and said, ”Nalan, aren’t we united now?”

Upon hearing this, Nalan Jingwei was overjoyed. He knew this meant the Executioner Scholar agreed to ally with the Nalan Family, a crucial decision indeed. With the Executioner Scholar’s assistance, the Nalan Family could truly compete for dominance this time.

”Hahaha...” Nalan Jingwei laughed heartily, ”It seems, this time, the Buddha’s Relic will absolutely be within our grasp. Once we acquire the Buddha’s Relic, it might be soon that the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates open. Rumor has it that this time, all three gates may open simultaneously. By then, one of these gates will undoubtedly be yours, Executioner Scholar!”

This promise greatly satisfied the Executioner Scholar, knowing the Wanyan Family had forcefully declared they wouldn’t allow him entry into the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates. Yet Nalan Jingwei straightforwardly promised him entry into one of the gates, showcasing sincerity indeed!

”Rest assured, the Buddha’s Relic is certainly within our grasp!” The Executioner Scholar smiled, ”That Great Lord is merely a clown. Alone, he’s surrounded by enemies in Huaxia. At this stage, to still behave so audaciously, I doubt he will live much longer.”

Nalan Jingwei laughed, ”Before he dies, if he can bring Ye Qing to us, that would be ideal!”

”Hahaha...” The Executioner Scholar shared the laughter, then looked towards Shenchuan City’s direction and said, ”With Fu Qingping guarding Shenchuan City, those Peak Masters who used to hide there have all fled. Hmph, Fu Qingping’s fame grows daily. But how long can he enjoy this pride? Once we secure the Buddha’s Relic, I’ll see the true power of his Qingping Sword!”

Nalan Jingwei glanced at the Executioner Scholar, knowing he still harbored resentment for his three brothers slain by Fu Qingping’s sword, eager for revenge.

”Once we have the Buddha’s Relic, killing Fu Qingping will be child’s play!” Nalan Jingwei smiled, ”By the way, with just the two of us, our force is a bit thin. Shouldn’t we recruit more people? While we can certainly handle the Great Lord alone, others might interfere, complicating matters!”

The Executioner Scholar knew Nalan Jingwei was probing about the forces behind him. Nalan Jingwei knew the Executioner Scholar had backing but didn’t know who. The Executioner Scholar didn’t disclose anything about the Wanyan Family, despite inclining towards an alliance with the Nalan Family, choosing not to expose the Wanyan Family yet. With the Nalan Family unable to match the Wanyan Family without the Buddha’s Relic, revealing their connection would mean a complete break. In their current situation, breaking from the Wanyan Family could be fatal, so he must keep their details hidden.

”Recruiting people might be tough.” The Executioner Scholar showed distress, ”The ones we invited earlier were friends my elder brother contacted. You know we were loners before, only my elder brother had broader connections. Asking me to find help is...”

Nalan Jingwei knew the Executioner Scholar’s elder brother referred to Snake Gentleman and realized he was deflecting accountability with Snake Gentleman. Claiming Snake Gentleman arranged the earlier contacts, now deceased and unable to verify, he blocked scrutiny. Through this, Nalan Jingwei sensed the Executioner Scholar kept a reservation in their alliance, prompting vigilance.

”In that case, I’ll recruit some support.” Nalan Jingwei nodded, though wary, showing no suspicion, as if entirely trusting the Executioner Scholar.

The Executioner Scholar slowly nodded, alert to Nalan Jingwei. Both being cunning foxes, neither could easily deceive the other.

Simultaneously, three cars sped out of town, heading towards Bai Li Xi and Liu Mubai. One car carried Ye Qing and Fu Qingping; another, some masters from the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. The last was an ambulance.

Despite Bai Li Xi informing Ye Qing that Liu Mubai’s life was no longer at risk, Ye Qing remained very worried and had an ambulance dispatched to provide immediate aid to Liu Mubai in transit, considering it safer than a regular vehicle.

Bai Li Xi and Liu Mubai stayed at the crash site, where Liu Mubai’s wounds began to heal during this time. Still, Bai Li Xi kept talking to him, fearing sleep would mean he never woke, realizing Liu Mubai’s condition was as dire as he described.

Seeing Ye Qing’s vehicle arrive, Bai Li Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief. He stood and watched Ye Qing sprint toward them, saying, ”No need to rush; I told you he won’t die!”

Ye Qing hurried over, seeing Liu Mubai bloodied, face turning pale. He quickly bent down, took out several fragments of Devouring Demon Flower from his jacket, and handed them to Liu Mubai, saying, ”Eat these first.”

Liu Mubai opened his mouth, ready to eat the fragments, but Bai Li Xi quickly stopped him.

”He can’t eat those!” Bai Li Xi said sternly.

”Why?” Ye Qing asked, puzzled, ”They are very effective for healing; haven’t you seen them before?”

”I know they are, but not suitable for him now!” Bai Li Xi pointed to the fragments in Ye Qing’s hand. ”These, like the Shen Family’s Ziyu Chenxiang Pill, stimulate life mechanisms, causing rapid bodily growth, thus quick healing. But Liu Mubai’s injury is no ordinary wound; his heart is pierced!”

”So eating this medicine could rapidly heal his heart, helping him recover swiftly, right?” Ye Qing proposed.

”You can’t say that.” Bai Li Xi argued, ”Had I not saved him, giving him this medicine would be fine. But I gave him a Recreation Pill!”

”What does that mean?” Ye Qing asked Bai Li Xi urgently, ”Can’t you just explain it all at once instead of squeezing out words?”

”The Recreation Pill is medicine crafted personally by my Master, who warned me upon giving it. Though able to preserve life, it poses a major issue due to its overwhelming potency, which sustains life via stimulating latent human life potential.” Bai Li Xi explained seriously, ”Giving other medicine now or any jolt may disorder his potential. His wound is the heart; any disorder could be fatal!”

”What?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened, asking anxiously, ”Does that mean he...can’t use medicine now?”

”That’s right!” Bai Li Xi nodded, confirming.

Ye Qing looked at the medicine powder on Liu Mubai’s wound, saying, ”But this...”
