Urban Martial Saint

Wen’er naturally knew that the master Ye Qing spoke of was indeed Fu Qingping.

Fu Qingping’s strength was evident to everyone in the world. The incident at Beimang Mountain, where he killed eight peak masters in three moves, had already spread across the land, known by all. In people’s narratives, Fu Qingping’s strength was thought to have long surpassed the peak, simply unmatched by any peak master.

In fact, Fu Qingping’s strength was only between the peak and beyond the peak, just a half-step away from completely surpassing the peak. Yet, it was precisely this half-step that kept him from being considered beyond the peak, unable to reach the realm of the Immortal Lord. However, this is something that only those who have truly reached this level can know, and it’s entirely unknown to others; therefore, people think Fu Qingping’s strength has already surpassed the peak.

When Wen’er learned that Ye Qing wanted to invite Fu Qingping to help, she was naturally thrilled. If others were to handle Japan’s ninjas, it might be of no use. However, if Fu Qingping personally went to help, that would be different. With Fu Qingping’s skills, even if Japan’s peak masters all were mobilized, what could it matter?

”Ye, really... really, thank you...” Wen’er, with tears in her eyes, said softly to Ye Qing. In fact, how could she not want to rescue her mother? But she simply did not have the strength herself. Although she lived in Shenchuan City, she herself had no ability to seek help from other masters. Now, Ye Qing was willing to ask Fu Qingping to help, so her gratitude was beyond words.

Ye Qing smiled without saying anything. He was resolving the Japanese stronghold not just to help Wen’er rescue her mother, but also to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. After all, the opening of Heaven Earth Man Three Gates was imminent, and if he could open the tomb before then, he might acquire a lot of useful information. Moreover, inside the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, who knows what world-shattering secrets might be hidden? If he could open it, it might change Ye Qing’s current situation. It might even bring new insights to Fu Qingping, helping him to fully cross the threshold of peak master, that’s possible too.

As Ye Qing walked out of Wen’er’s courtyard, he saw Li Lianshan and Zhao Chengshuang standing in his courtyard from afar. When Ye Qing arrived in Shenchuan City last night, it naturally led to a night of indulgence. These two fellows actually had good drinking capacity, but the drinking capacity is relative to whom you are drinking with. Drinking with Ye Qing, they had no capacity to speak of. Ye Qing wasn’t even half drunk, yet these two were passed out. Now, it was almost eleven o’clock, and they had just awoken, standing in the courtyard sobering up.

Seeing Ye Qing return from afar, the two immediately walked over, arms around each other’s shoulders. Both were Ye Qing’s best brothers and would freely come and go in the manor of Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance.

”Ye Zi, you’ve barely returned and are busy enough to disappear again.” Li Lianshan grumbled, ”Woke up early today and didn’t see you. Are you really that busy?”

”Brother, what time is it now, and you still have the face to say it’s early morning?” Ye Qing pointed at the sun above, ”It’s time for lunch, isn’t it?”

Li Lianshan completely ignored the sun overhead, saying, ”If you hadn’t returned, every day I wouldn’t get up until three or four in the afternoon. Compared to my waking time, isn’t this still early morning?”

Ye Qing was speechless. After all, Li Lianshan was the underground master of Shenchuan City, having a vibrant nightlife was only natural, busy until very late every evening.

”Alright, I won’t argue with you about time anymore.” Ye Qing waved his hand at the two, saying, ”I have something to handle now, we’ll talk at dinner tonight.”

”Wait a minute.” Li Lianshan pulled Ye Qing, saying, ”Don’t rush off. I haven’t told you something yet.”

”What’s up?” Ye Qing was curious. He had delegated Shenchuan City’s affairs to Li Lianshan. If nothing major happened, Li Lianshan wouldn’t bother him. Could something serious have happened?

”The Lin Mengjie, Manager Lin, who you invited from your hometown, she left a while ago.” Li Lianshan said, ”Look, should we find another person to manage the venues here?”

”Left? Where did she go?” Ye Qing didn’t pay attention to the subsequent matters. Management affairs were Li Lianshan’s concern; he cared more about where Lin Mengjie went.

”She went home!” Li Lianshan looked at Ye Qing, saying, ”Oh right, it’s the friend from your hometown, named Old Fifth Yang. He seems to be sick, recently hospitalized. So Manager Lin took leave and went back.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing’s face immediately changed, recalling what Old Fifth Yang had told him earlier. According to Old Fifth Yang, Lin Mengjie should be his daughter, although she didn’t know this. Yet Old Fifth Yang treated Lin Mengjie very well, always caring for her like a biological daughter, and Lin Mengjie was very grateful to him. If Old Fifth Yang had any issues, Lin Mengjie would surely return.

As for Old Fifth Yang being hospitalized, Ye Qing knew what was going on. Old Fifth Yang had previously mentioned that he was diagnosed with cancer. At the time, Old Fifth Yang asked Ye Qing to help him keep this from Lin Mengjie and also to help look after Lin Mengjie. After returning to Shenchuan City, Ye Qing was quite busy and had nearly forgotten this matter. Now hearing that Old Fifth Yang was hospitalized and Lin Mengjie returned, he basically understood what was happening. It seemed Old Fifth Yang’s cancer had worsened.

Old Fifth Yang had done everything for Ye Qing’s family, even helping him greatly when he started. So Ye Qing had a good relationship with Old Fifth Yang. Knowing this, Ye Qing felt rather uncomfortable, since it involved a friend from his side.

”How is Yang Wu’s condition now?” Ye Qing asked.

”Probably not well, otherwise Manager Lin wouldn’t have personally returned.” Li Lianshan replied.

Ye Qing took a deep breath. When Old Fifth Yang mentioned this before, he didn’t want Lin Mengjie to know, not wanting her to worry for him. This time, he was hospitalized, and Lin Mengjie went back. It seemed the condition had become severe enough to be unbearable. Otherwise, Old Fifth Yang wouldn’t have let Lin Mengjie return.

After pondering, Ye Qing suddenly thought of Bai Li Xi residing in the manor all the time. Bai Li Xi, known as Sai Hua Tuo, was a disciple of Divine Doctor An Shiping. He was skilled in saving lives and curing diseases. It was just unknown whether he could treat this cancer.

”Ye Zi, we have over thirty venues here, all need management. Do you want to select a few people to manage them?” Li Lianshan was still asking about this matter.

”You make the decision on these matters.” Ye Qing was straightforward, ”We’ll talk about the remaining issues over dinner tonight. I have an errand to run first.”

After speaking, without waiting for Li Lianshan to respond, Ye Qing hurried off. He had initially intended to see Fu Qingping, but Old Fifth Yang’s situation made Ye Qing anxious, prompting him to head to Bai Li Xi’s courtyard.

Old Wang Ba and Bai Li Xi lived in the same courtyard. He was reclining in the courtyard’s deck chair, basking in the sun. This rascal led a life of extreme leisure here. Seeing Ye Qing rush in, he asked, ”Young Ye, so, have you asked the method to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master?”

Ye Qing didn’t answer his question and ran toward the house, asking, ”Where’s Mr. Bai Li?”

Old Wang Ba said, ”Oh, you’re talking about that old ghost; he’s in the backyard, relieving himself.”

”Relieving himself?” Ye Qing paused. Old Wang Ba, thinking he didn’t understand, clarified, ”He’s using the bathroom. Come on, don’t you know what relieving means? Are you uneducated?”

Ye Qing originally intended to directly find Bai Li Xi, but now he stopped. He didn’t want to approach Bai Li Xi in such a situation.

”Hey, I’m asking you, did you learn the method to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master from that girl?” Old Wang Ba stood from the deck chair and followed Ye Qing, inquiring.

”No.” Ye Qing replied, ”She doesn’t know the method either.”

”She doesn’t know?” Old Wang Ba scratched his head, saying, ”Then what do we do? Just watch the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master without opening it?”

”She doesn’t know, but that doesn’t mean others don’t.” Ye Qing narrated what Wen’er previously mentioned. After hearing Ye Qing’s words, Old Wang Ba frowned and said, ”So, you’re planning to attack the stronghold of the Japanese ninjas?”

”What else?” Ye Qing replied, ”These Japanese ninjas harbor malicious intent and also attempt to seize our Huaxia’s things. Attacking their stronghold, what’s the issue?”

”I advise you to think twice about this!” Old Wang Ba said, ”Japanese ninjas never interfere with the matters between Huaxia Martial Artists and the Church; they sometimes even help Huaxia Martial Artists against the Church. But if we attack these ninjas this time, the situation will change. If we make enemies with Japanese ninjas, and they decide to assist the Church, then we’ll be in trouble!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing frowned. He wasn’t aware of the relationship between Japanese ninjas and Huaxia Martial Artists, or that Japanese ninjas assisted Huaxia Martial Artists against the Church. This way, Japanese ninjas and Huaxia Martial Artists were surprisingly on the same side. If truly dealing with them, it might not be appropriate.

”Since Japanese ninjas are on the same side as our Huaxia Martial Artists, why do they covet our Huaxia’s belongings?” Ye Qing asked, frowning, ”They’ve been coveting the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, clearly with malicious intent!”
