Urban Martial Saint

The people from the Church wasted some time here, but the Executioner Scholar and his team did not pause at all. So, shortly after night fell, they also arrived near the abandoned factory.

With tracking snakes on the Church’s car, the Executioner Scholar could clearly know the current position of the people from the Church. So, when they were still two kilometers away from the abandoned factory, the Executioner Scholar and his team abandoned their car to walk quietly towards the factory.

When the Executioner Scholar and his team arrived near the abandoned factory, Nalan Jingwei and his team were also not far from here. Knowing that the Executioner Scholar and his team abandoned their car to walk, Nalan Jingwei naturally understood that they had found their target, so they hurried to follow suit without any delay.

Of course, Nalan Jingwei and his team were also very cautious, like the Executioner Scholar, they abandoned their car near the factory and approached quietly on foot. However, they took a different route, sneaking to the back of the factory, wanting to first observe the situation inside and see who Executioner Scholar was really targeting.

Nalan Jingwei’s group of four were all Peak Masters, extremely strong, and they arrived outside the factory under the cover of night without causing any disturbance. However, upon arrival, they also dared not act rashly and instead hid outside, quietly waiting for any commotion inside.

As Nalan Jingwei had speculated earlier, if the Executioner Scholar indeed intended to use them as a tool to engage their foes, then those inside the abandoned factory must be their enemies. Given the strength of the Executioner Scholar’s four members, their enemies would certainly not be weak. So, Nalan Jingwei concluded that there were definitely Peak Masters in the abandoned factory, and more than one at that. Thus, they stayed alert, intending to first understand the situation inside.

On the other side, the Executioner Scholar’s group of four seemed to have entered the abandoned factory, but in reality, their thoughts were aligned with those of Nalan Jingwei. They did not directly enter the factory but instead hid temporarily. They aimed to lure Nalan Jingwei’s team to confront the Church, intending to profit from the ensuing chaos. Therefore, they didn’t plan to act first but decided to wait for Nalan Jingwei and the Church to start fighting.

However, they didn’t expect that Nalan Jingwei’s group had been there for some time without making any move, as if they had not entered the factory at all.

”What on earth is that bastard Nalan Jingwei doing?” Slaughter Venerable couldn’t help but mutter, ”We’ve already leaked information about Ye Qing to him, yet he still doesn’t go in to grab him. Does he not want the Buddha’s Relic?”

Sky-Killing Master frowned and whispered, ”Could they have gone to the wrong place?”

”Impossible!” Snake Gentleman replied decisively, ”This area has only this abandoned factory to hide in, nowhere else would suffice. They came here, there’s no way they haven’t entered the factory.”

Sky-Killing Master said curiously, ”But we haven’t seen them enter for so long; don’t you think that’s strange?”

Snake Gentleman also frowned, looking at the Executioner Scholar beside him, feeling something odd about the situation.

The Executioner Scholar frowned, remained silent for a long time, then sighed and whispered, ”That old fox Nalan Jingwei, trying to fool him isn’t an easy task at all!”

”What’s going on?” Slaughter Venerable and the other two asked simultaneously.

”According to Wanyan Family’s information, Nalan Jingwei and his group of four have definitely arrived and reached near this factory. They must have entered. But...” the Executioner Scholar took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, ”They have been quiet all along and haven’t entered the factory to search for Ye Qing, indicating they haven’t believed the information about Ye Qing. They are actually guarding against us!”

”What do you mean?” Slaughter Venerable was dumbfounded, unable to understand the Executioner Scholar’s words.

”It’s simple; we are waiting for them to act, and they are also waiting for us to act first!” the Executioner Scholar said quietly, ”When the clam and the crane struggle, the fisherman benefits. We want to be the fisherman; Nalan Jingwei wants to be the fisherman, too!”

Slaughter Venerable and the others exchanged glances, and the Executioner Scholar’s words made it clear to them.

”So what do we do now?” Snake Gentleman whispered, ”If Nalan Jingwei’s team doesn’t make a move, we’re not a match for those from the Church, let alone competing for Ye Qing!”

”Bringing them here, yet they want to take advantage of us, what kind of mess is this?” Slaughter Venerable muttered quietly.

The Executioner Scholar slightly frowned and whispered, ”Looks like I have to personally go and talk with Nalan Jingwei!”

”What do you want to talk to him about?” Sky-Killing Master asked curiously.

Snake Gentleman nodded and said, ”Nalan Jingwei is a shrewd and cunning man, extremely despicable and treacherous. Even if we talk to him, it may not lead to anything. On the contrary, if he gets a bite out of us, we could be in danger!”

”Don’t worry, before he gets Ye Qing, he won’t turn against us,” Executioner Scholar said in a deep voice. ”The Church is very powerful, and neither we nor Nalan Jingwei’s people can compete with them. Only by joining forces can we defeat the Church’s men. So before getting Ye Qing, Nalan Jingwei absolutely won’t attack us because they also want to capture Ye Qing. If they strike us first, they definitely can’t beat the Church’s people; they won’t do such a foolish thing!”

”But what happens once we capture Ye Qing?” asked Slaughter Venerable.

”Hmph, once we get Ye Qing, it’s up to our skills!” Executioner Scholar sneered. ”There are four of them, but we are also four; our strength may not be inferior to theirs. Moreover, the Wanyan Family is sending people over; who will win in the end is still unknown!”

Slaughter Venerable and the others exchanged glances. Executioner Scholar’s words seemed to make a lot of sense to them.

”But will Nalan Jingwei be willing to join forces with us if you approach him like this?” Sky-Killing Master asked worriedly.

”It’s not up to them!” Executioner Scholar said sternly. ”If they don’t join forces with us, they can only watch as the Church takes Ye Qing away. Nalan Jingwei desires the Buddha’s Relic so much that he definitely won’t let that happen. So they will definitely team up with us!”

Seeing Executioner Scholar’s confidence, Slaughter Venerable and the others stopped questioning and followed him out of their hiding place, circling the abandoned factory area to search for Nalan Jingwei and his men.

Executioner Scholar and his group knew that Nalan Jingwei’s people were near the factory, but they hadn’t seen them engage with the Church’s people. They guessed they were hiding around the factory. As expected, just as Executioner Scholar had predicted, they found Nalan Jingwei’s group hiding behind the factory.

Nalan Jingwei’s group originally intended to wait there, letting Executioner Scholar’s group fight with those in the factory first, then reap the benefits. Unexpectedly, Executioner Scholar and his group didn’t enter the factory but found them instead.

When both sides met, Nalan Jingwei’s group was naturally the most shocked, as they never expected Executioner Scholar’s group to seek them out. So, upon seeing them, Nalan Jingwei and the others were quite surprised.

”Nalan Jingwei!” Executioner Scholar directly called out his name, glancing at Huang Yunfeng and the other two with a cold smile. Among the four, aside from Nalan Jingwei, the other three weren’t as strong. As for Nalan Jingwei, although rumored to be powerful, Executioner Scholar saw him as somewhat of a junior, feeling little apprehension.

”Executioner Scholar!” Nalan Jingwei also called out to Executioner Scholar, quickly recovering from his shock. He glanced at the three behind Executioner Scholar, rapidly calculating why they had suddenly found his group.

Of course, Nalan Jingwei couldn’t immediately think of a reason, and Executioner Scholar straightforwardly said, ”Since you four are here, why not enter the factory to take a look? Don’t you believe my words? Don’t you believe Ye Qing is inside?”

Nalan Jingwei didn’t expect such frankness from Executioner Scholar, which was tantamount to admitting they led them here on purpose. This kind of ploy is usually concealed, but this honesty caught Nalan Jingwei off guard.

Moments later, Nalan Jingwei took a deep breath and smiled, ”Since Ye Qing is inside, why haven’t the four of you gone in?”

Executioner Scholar replied, ”It’s not that we haven’t tried; the ones who caught Ye Qing are far too strong. We four brothers can’t stand against them!”

”So you brought us here, hoping to use our hands against the people in the factory?” Nalan Jingwei asked with a sarcastic smile, directly pointing out the scheme, leaving them no face.

”If we four can’t handle the people in the factory, do you four think you can?” Executioner Scholar coldly laughed. ”Nalan Jingwei, aren’t you overestimating your strength?”

At these words, Huang Yunfeng and the others looked furious, but Nalan Jingwei remained unchanged.

”If even the Four Great Villains can’t beat them, of course, we can’t either,” Nalan Jingwei smiled. ”In that case, we won’t waste time here and should head back to rest.”
