Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing never expected that Fu Qingping’s evaluation of Wu Tianchi would be so high that he would even compare him to the figures who created the Buddhist and Taoist Magic sects.

The Buddhist and Taoist Magic figures were the creators of sects, and future generations lived under their shadow. The sects they created made the martial techniques flourish through the ages. Without the sects they created, there would be no martial techniques passed down to future generations. They are considered the originators of the world’s martial techniques, unreachable figures, almost like immortals.

So when Fu Qingping compared Wu Tianchi to these three, it naturally shocked Ye Qing. Although Ye Qing knew Wu Tianchi wasn’t weak, comparing him to the Buddhist and Taoist Magic figures seemed a bit far-fetched, didn’t it?

”Wu Tianchi’s strength can’t possibly compare to the Buddhist and Taoist Magic, right?” Ye Qing said quietly.

”I’m not talking about strength, but ideology,” Fu Qingping replied. ”Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology is completely different from the Buddhist and Taoist Magic. While everyone in the world follows the training methods passed down by Buddhist and Taoist Magic, he ignored these three methods and blazed a new path, and succeeded in his cultivation. So, I say he created a new sect. However, in the shadows of Buddhist and Taoist Magic, his sect couldn’t flourish and might remain something he explored by himself.”

Ye Qing nodded slowly. He had pondered over Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology and naturally understood that his ideology was entirely different from what Ye Qing had learned before. It was precisely with this ideology that Ye Qing gained a new understanding of the Tianzhu Sword Technique.

”Master Ancestor, wouldn’t Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology be more useful to you?” Ye Qing suddenly asked, ”Should I tell you about these ideologies? Maybe it could help improve your strength.”

”No need.” Fu Qingping shook his head slowly and said, ”Such martial arts ideologies can only be understood through intuition, not words. Talking about it would lose its essence and be ineffective.”

”What should we do then?” Ye Qing asked anxiously, ”How about I take you into the Demon Hideout Cave to experience the three sword marks left by Wu Tianchi?”

”No need.” Fu Qingping shook his head again and looked at Ye Qing, ”You’ve mentioned before that when you imitated those sword marks, you were counterattacked by their power because you had power within you at that time. Now, without any power inside you, imitating them won’t result in a counterattack. But it’s different for me. I have my own strength inside. If I go in to imitate those sword marks, I’d still be counterattacked by their power!”

”Then there’s no way around it?” Ye Qing said in surprise, ”With no inner strength, this martial arts ideology means nothing to me.”

”Don’t worry.” Fu Qingping chuckled, ”Though this martial arts ideology can’t be conveyed in words, and I can’t see the sword marks myself, there are other ways for me to comprehend it.”

”What way?” Ye Qing quickly asked. He was eager to help improve Fu Qingping’s strength, especially as Fu Qingping’s lifespan was nearing its end. If his strength could be improved, his lifespan might increase.

”You just need to demonstrate the ideologies and sword moves you’ve learned. I can comprehend them by watching,” Fu Qingping said. ”How much can be comprehended depends entirely on luck and my personal enlightenment. So, one demonstration is enough; a second run wouldn’t add any value!”

Following Fu Qingping’s words, Ye Qing had no other choice but to slowly demonstrate the sword moves he comprehended.

Fu Qingping watched attentively, clearly delving into the Sword Intent within the sword moves. This was Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology. Although Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology was entirely different from Fu Qingping’s learning, Fu Qingping was stuck in his path for decades, unable to break through the acme. Now, exploring Wu Tianchi’s ideology might offer new insights, and an epiphany could perhaps allow him to overcome the acme’s barrier.

After Ye Qing finished his set of sword moves, Fu Qingping remained motionless. Seeing Fu Qingping deep in thought, Ye Qing stayed silent, fearing to disrupt Fu Qingping’s contemplation.

After a full hour, Fu Qingping slowly nodded, ”Yes, that’s it.”

Not knowing what Fu Qingping meant, Ye Qing quickly asked, ”What do you mean by ’that’s it’?”

Fu Qingping smiled lightly, ”Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology is indeed exceptional, and it’s beneficial to me. If I were to confront those people earlier again, I could defeat all of them with the third move, leaving none alive!”

As Ye Qing felt shock, he also became excited. Fu Qingping’s words implied that his strength had improved! It seemed Wu Tianchi’s martial arts ideology was quite influential for him.

”Master Ancestor, have you broken through the acme’s barrier?” Ye Qing hurriedly asked.

”Not yet,” Fu Qingping replied with a smile. ”But I have a vague understanding of why I couldn’t break through. I believe it won’t take long before I overcome this barrier!”

”Really?” Ye Qing was delighted, genuinely happy for Fu Qingping. After all, breaking through the acme’s barrier meant increasing Fu Qingping’s lifespan substantially, eliminating worries about survival. Moreover, if Fu Qingping could surpass the acme, he might be capable of challenging The Immortal Lord!

Fu Qingping remained quietly smiling, plucking a small twig from a nearby tree. With a horizontal sweep of his right hand, he lightly touched a stone beside them. The stone, upon being contacted by the twig, cracked and shattered into numerous small pieces, scattering across the ground. Yet, the twig remained unscathed, as if made of fine steel.

Ye Qing’s eyes widened again, amazed that a mere twig could shatter a stone, demonstrating strength beyond acme. Fu Qingping’s combat prowess was truly becoming more terrifying by the moment. At this pace, it wouldn’t be long before he surpassed the acme’s barrier!

Looking at the crushed stones, Fu Qingping chuckled again. Tossing aside the twig, he turned to Ye Qing and said, ”Let’s go. We should be heading out.”

”Alright.” Holding the Tianzhu Sword, Ye Qing followed Fu Qingping out of Beimang Mountain. Although only Fu Qingping came, Ye Qing felt remarkably safe. Nowadays, aside from people like The Immortal Lord, who could possibly be Fu Qingping’s match? Even if someone intended to target Ye Qing, they’d have to evaluate their choices first.

”By the way, Master Ancestor, when did you enter the mountains?” Ye Qing asked curiously while following Fu Qingping, ”How did you arrive just in time to save me?”

”It wasn’t by chance; it was deliberate,” Fu Qingping said. ”I arrived at Beimang Mountain three days ago but couldn’t find you in the mountains; only Nalan Jingwei and his company. I wasn’t sure where you went, but seeing them guarding this mountain, they were likely watching for you. So, I stuck with them. After all, there were many of them. Once they found you, I’d naturally find you too!”

”I see.” Ye Qing understood. No wonder Fu Qingping was so timely; he was following close to Nalan Jingwei’s people all along.

”Did you come here alone this time?” Ye Qing asked.

”Yes, I came alone.” Fu Qingping glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”Oh, there’s something I haven’t told you yet.”

”What is it?” Ye Qing asked casually.

”Huangfu Ziyu...” Fu Qingping hesitated slightly and said in a low voice, ”She’s recently gone out of contact.”

”What?” Ye Qing immediately stopped, looking worriedly at Fu Qingping, ”What do you mean by ’out of contact’?”

”Last time we went to Mount Duwang to find you, we encountered the Wanyan Family at the Doomsday Sect. I helped her and the Wolf Monk to escape. After the Wolf Monk escorted her out, he returned to rescue me. Huangfu Ziyu left Mount Duwang on her own. But since then, there’s been no news from her, no contact at all!”

”How could this happen?” Ye Qing’s thoughts spiraled into chaos. He didn’t expect Huangfu Ziyu would have disappeared. That was his greatest worry because Huangfu Ziyu was Ye Qing’s beloved. He held deep concern for her. He had assumed he’d see her upon exiting the mountain, only to receive such terrible news beforehand.

Fu Qingping’s expression turned grim; he sighed softly, ”Recently, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance have sent many people to search for Huangfu Ziyu, even Shen Tianjun and Sha Men got involved. There aren’t many people left in Shenchuan City. That’s why I came to rescue you alone; no one else came!”

At that moment, Ye Qing wasn’t in the mood to consider other matters. He firmly replied, ”Then how exactly did Zi Yu disappear? Is there no trace at all?”

Fu Qingping shook his head, ”We’ve investigated all angles, but no trace has been found. However, Old Wang Ba divined for her, saying she’s safe at the moment.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing’s mind settled somewhat. Old Wang Ba might be unsavory, but his Divination Techniques were reliable. Since he said Huangfu Ziyu is safe, she indeed must be. As long as Huangfu Ziyu is safe, it’s the best outcome for Ye Qing. His biggest fear was for her safety.

”From where did she disappear? Did the Wolf Monk mention which side of Mount Duwang Zi Yu left from?” Ye Qing asked intently, even without inner strength, he was determined to find Huangfu Ziyu himself.
