Urban Martial Saint

The man’s words made the woman very happy, and she nodded repeatedly, saying, ”This is great, this is great. Second Uncle, that old relic, he runs the family, always enforcing so many rules. I’ve been displeased with him for a long time. Now it’s good, Fifth Uncle is taking over the family, and we won’t have to look at Second Uncle’s ugly face anymore!”

This couple clearly was very happy about such major changes within the family, while Ye Qing, hiding in the curtains, sighed repeatedly. These two didn’t even realize the consequences if Li Changshan was ousted from the position of Family Head. If Li Changshan were defeated, it would mean Northern Martial Zen would fully enter Liaoshen City. At that time, the Li Family would become an appendage of Northern Martial Zen. Even though this man holds some sway within the family, outside of it, the Li Family would basically become a puppet. Is such a thing worth celebrating?

Seeing the joy on the couple’s faces, Ye Qing couldn’t help but recall two ancient poems: ”The singing girls know not the sorrow of a fallen kingdom, yet across the river, they still sing ’The Back Court Flowers.’” These lines perfectly describe the current situation. They are about to become someone’s vassal, yet they can still find joy in it.

However, Ye Qing was more concerned about this Northern Martial Zen. He had never heard of this person before. Just who exactly is he?

It must be known that since Li Changshan is Li Changqing’s younger brother, his skills may not equal Li Changqing’s, but they wouldn’t be too far off. And for Northern Martial Zen to be able to injure Li Changshan shows that Northern Martial Zen’s abilities are certainly not weak. Are there really such experts in the North?

The woman, happy for a moment, suddenly remembered a question and asked anxiously, ”But what if, after Li Changshan is defeated, he simply refuses to give up the position of Family Head, then what?”

”In recent years, under Li Changshan, the family’s decline has only worsened. In fact, not only outsiders, but even within the Li Family, quite a few people are dissatisfied with Li Changshan,” the man said. ”If it weren’t for my father running around outside these past few years, earning so much wealth for the family, the Li Family would have collapsed long ago. Indeed, it’s time for a change of Family Head. This time, many in the family know my father is cooperating with Northern Martial Zen. As long as Li Changshan is defeated, several elders in the family will definitely unite to force him down and lift my father up. By then, with my father in charge, the Li Family will surely become better than it is now!”

It was clear this man held his father in high regard. However, he didn’t realize that what his father was doing wasn’t called cooperation, but inviting the enemy into the house!

”That’s good!” The woman was very pleased and said, ”Now the only problem is whether anyone in our Li Family can defeat Northern Martial Zen’s top disciple.”

”You don’t need to worry about that.” The man laughed and said, ”Many in the family have joined my father. By then, the younger generation’s strong ones in the family won’t put in their full effort. Hmph, what use are Li Changshan’s disciples? Not that I look down on them, but they’re really no different from Li Changqing’s foolish grandson, just a bunch of good-for-nothings!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing’s heart skipped a beat; he finally heard something about the fool. From the man’s tone, it was clear he not only disrespected Li Changshan but had no respect for Li Changqing either.

Ye Qing frowned slightly; he already had a poor impression of this man. Hearing him speak like this made Ye Qing even more dissatisfied with him. However, to avoid alerting them, Ye Qing remained calm and continued to listen.

The woman whispered, ”But Hao Yuan, Second Uncle’s first disciple, is quite skilled. Aren’t you afraid he’ll defeat this Northern Martial Zen’s top disciple?”

”What a joke!” The man laughed and said, ”Third Sister-in-law, you really underestimate Northern Martial Zen, don’t you? When our Li Family’s so-called Northern Fist King, Li Changqing, was still around, Northern Martial Zen came to challenge him, wanting to claim the title of Northern Fist King. I heard it took Li Changqing over two hours to finally defeat Northern Martial Zen by just one move. This shows how strong Northern Martial Zen is. Now that Li Changqing is no longer here, and Li Changshan’s abilities are far from Li Changqing’s, how can the disciples he taught compare to Northern Martial Zen’s disciples? Third Sister-in-law, rest assured, this battle is a sure win for Northern Martial Zen!”

Ye Qing finally realized how formidable Northern Martial Zen’s abilities were; anyone who could hold out against Li Changqing for two hours before losing by a single move was undoubtedly strong. It’s estimated that Northern Martial Zen has the strength to contend for the Five Uniques. Although not quite at the level of the Five Uniques, he’s not too far behind. And now that he wanted to break into Liaoshen City, the Li Family indeed had no one who could stop him!

Ye Qing never expected to encounter something like this upon arriving in Liaoshen City. From the conversation between the two, Ye Qing vaguely realized that Li Changshan’s years of managing the Li Family were not easy. Li Changqing’s defeat directly led to Li Changshan losing authority within the family. Now, these members of the Li Family even planned to stage a coup to oust him from the Family Head position. If this really happens, Li Changqing’s line is likely to lose control over the Li Family completely.

Ye Qing initially thought the Li Family’s decline was entirely brought about by Li Changshan. But he now realized that it had little to do with him. The Li Family fell to such a state mainly because the family members no longer heeded Li Changshan’s commands. Ye Qing’s initial wariness toward Li Changshan gradually turned into sympathy; managing the Li Family all these years was indeed no easy task.

The couple had no idea someone was eavesdropping on their conversation and getting so much information out of it. They were still happily dreaming of their blissful life once the Family Head was changed. Before long, the two tangled together again and started fooling around on the bed once more.

This put Ye Qing in a difficult position as he was still hiding behind the curtain, inadvertently witnessing a live erotic performance. He wanted to leave but doing so now would surely alert them. Helplessly, Ye Qing could only continue hiding behind the curtain, painfully waiting for them to finish and leave.

Luckily, the man was quick, finishing in no time. The woman, though not fully satisfied, kept praising the man’s prowess, making him swell with pride. He didn’t realize the woman in her heart had already looked down on him completely.

After their session, the pair didn’t linger on the bed but went to the bathroom to clean up. Ye Qing used this opportunity to swiftly climb out the window as he really could not stand the situation in the room.

Fortunately, by this time, it was gradually getting dark, and many houses in the Li Family Courtyard had turned on their lights. People also started walking around the courtyard. However, none of them noticed Ye Qing in this area, suggesting the Li Family’s guard really was lax, nearly non-existent.

Initially, Ye Qing was still quite anxious. After walking around a bit inside the courtyard, Ye Qing suddenly realized that no one seemed to care about who he was. The people passing by didn’t even seem to see him, walking right past without asking if he belonged to the Li Family.

Ye Qing was filled with surprise. The Li Family, after all, is a Martial Arts Family; how could the guard be so lax? An outsider came in, and no one even questioned him?

Only when he reached the front gate of the courtyard did Ye Qing finally understand why no one had questioned him. At this moment, various luxury cars were continuously driving in through the large gate. Moreover, several people got out of each car and entered the courtyard. It was obvious that quite a few of them were not members of the Li Family at all. This meant that during this time in the evening, many outsiders would come in, and the Li Family had become accustomed to it.

No wonder no one asked Ye Qing anything while he was on the road; it seemed the Li Family assumed he was with those who arrived by car.

After realizing this, Ye Qing felt much more at ease. Apparently, the Li Family normally has quite a few outsiders coming in, which is why their guard would be so lax. Had he known, he should have entered last night, instead of waiting until now.

However, on second thought, the timing of his entry today turned out to be quite fortuitous. If he hadn’t been cautious and entered today, how could he have coincidentally overheard such a big secret from that couple? Moreover, he learned quite a bit about the Li Family from them.

Ye Qing initially came to find the fool, but after hearing what the couple said, Ye Qing suddenly wanted to first observe the Li Family a bit. After all, this was Third Master Li’s family; Ye Qing couldn’t just stand by and watch it be swallowed up by Northern Martial Zen.

Pretending to be someone who had arrived by car from outside, Ye Qing wandered around the Li Family Courtyard. Most of the people who arrived from outside had entered one of three luxurious villas, though he didn’t know what was inside. However, it was obvious that there was definitely something significant about these three villas.

Ye Qing wandered around the villas for a while longer before sneaking into an empty one. Inside, he found a suit, which he put on to look sharper, and then he placed the Seven-Star Ancient Sword he carried with him into a box, taking it with him as he left.

Ye Qing had noticed earlier that most of the people coming from outside were well-dressed. To avoid attracting too much attention, he changed his clothes and entered one of the three villas. After all, no one in the Li Family knew him, and with so many outsiders present tonight, Ye Qing intended to enter the villa to investigate what was really going on inside.

Entering the villa, Ye Qing could hear a commotion from afar, as if someone was fighting. Ye Qing was quite surprised, and as he looked carefully, he saw that in the hall on the first floor of the villa, there was an arena similar to a boxing ring. And there, two people were engaged in a life-and-death battle!
