Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 346: Chapter 328: The Exposed Puppy Love

”Speak up,” Luo Zhen rested his hand on his forehead, looking at the nonchalant young couple standing and sitting before him, especially Luo Qianqian. It was her first day of school today, and she’d already become involved in such a big incident, although seemingly unrelated to her.

Luo Qianqian chuckled, ”Teacher, this has nothing to do with me. It’s just that, Xu Tianyi bumped into that person because he was helping me get to the restroom.” She glanced disdainfully at Xu Xiaoxiao, who was getting scolded on the other side, ”Even if you don’t know the mess of their family matters, the surname should give it away. They’re obviously siblings. Besides, with someone as cute, considerably younger, and well-behaved as me around, Xu Tianyi would have to have his head caught in a toilet seat to go harass her. It’s their family’s business, you needn’t intervene, Teacher. I have my own issues with Xu Xiaoxiao, and our family is well aware of them.” Having said her piece with utter calmness, Luo Qianqian adopted a compliant and understanding demeanor.

Xu Tianyi couldn’t bear to look directly at them. What had he been thinking to be accused of harassing these two? One he didn’t care for, the other still developing - everything was constrained, and he certainly didn’t want to commit a crime, ”Teacher, this has nothing to do with Qianqian. Xu Xiaoxiao and I are siblings by blood. If she insists that I harassed her, I’m willing to undergo a paternity test with her.” Xu Tianyi finished speaking with a slight smirk, ”I also have plenty of photos that can prove her involvement with others, but she has no evidence to prove anything about me.”

Xu Xiaoxiao’s face paled; she had been too cocky and had forgotten that these two had caught her out with Brother Qiang.

Luo Zhen raised his eyebrows, ”You’re admitting to underage romance?”

Luo Qianqian shook her head and said openly, ”I have a crush on Xu Tianyi, I won’t deny it, but our relationship is pure right now since we’re both still young. Our families know about it, and we won’t do anything to jeopardize our grades during school time.”

Xu Tianyi looked at the back of Luo Qianqian’s head and smiled gently, reaching out to ruffle her hair, ”She will be my girlfriend, but we’ll have to wait a few years, until she’s of age.”

Luo Zhen was utterly speechless and had nothing left to say. They admitted to having a crush and even to a future relationship, but presently there was nothing, and their parents were aware. How was he supposed to deal with that?

He cleared his throat twice, ”Keep it low-key. Teacher Wang, what does your student say?”

Xu Xiaoxiao hurriedly spoke up, ”Teacher, it was my own fault, I fell.” She nodded emphatically while inwardly cursing herself for making such a fuss. If she hadn’t, the issue of underage romance would have been enough trouble for them, but now both had registered with the teacher.

Teacher Wang across from Xu Xiaoxiao had a low opinion of this girl, seeing nothing good in her. Dyed hair, nail polish, altered uniform - she was quite a contrast to the clean-cut couple across from Luo Zhen, who looked young for a senior class.

Luo Zhen had a lot of trust in his students, not just the new girl Luo Qianqian, but also looking at the consistent top-scorer Xu Tianyi who had been there for a while, he wasn’t upset and would investigate thoroughly to ensure justice for his student.

”You fell? Then you should visit the infirmary, and if that’s not enough, we’ll call your parents to get a note for you to go to the hospital,” Luo Zhen said magnanimously.

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, not even glancing at Xu Xiaoxiao, and addressed Luo Zhen, ”Teacher, may we leave now? I need to go to the Academic Affairs Office to buy books.” Her attitude was impeccably proper.

Luo Zhen nodded, then turned to Xu Tianyi, ”Let Tianyi go with you, it’s downstairs anyway, no need to trouble yourself further.”

Xu Tianyi nodded, ”Then Teacher, we’re heading back.” As they left, both caught the malicious glance from Xu Xiaoxiao, but what happened next was none of their concern.

”You have a crush on me?” As soon as they were out the door, Luo Qianqian heard Xu Tianyi’s deep, magnetic voice by her ear, making her face flush slightly.

Looking at the floor, ”I haven’t denied it.”

Xu Tianyi’s face was filled with satisfaction, ”Later, I’ll help you with your homework.”

Luo Qianqian looked up in disbelief. Was he really changing his principles just like that? What happened to being a person with bottom lines?

However, Luo Qianqian wasn’t foolish enough to voice her doubts. Instead, she nodded and smiled sweetly, ”Okay.”

Returning to the classroom, Xu Tianyi and I were somewhat taken aback by the strange looks from the class president and the people around him. What was going on?

The class president coughed awkwardly, ”Uh, Tianyi, I just went to see the teacher and heard something...” He hesitated, glancing at the two of us to find us both looking indifferent, our faces graced with smiles.

”What’s up?” Xu Tianyi raised an eyebrow, not seeming too concerned.

”Is it true that you admitted to dating early?” The boy sitting behind Xu Tianyi blurted out, asking.

Luo Qianqian had a face full of black lines. So many people had gathered just to discuss gossip? Are these really seniors?

”I didn’t deny it.” Xu Tianyi pushed Luo Qianqian back to her seat and whispered to her, ”I’ll go get your book; you look at some questions by yourself.” Most people would choose to nap at noon, but he understood that Luo Qianqian was different from those people; she couldn’t be the same.

Luo Qianqian nodded, quietly working on the papers Hei Yu had brought over. Homework and such were not her concerns.

The two girls sitting in the first row couldn’t contain their gossiping hearts and approached Luo Qianqian, ”So, you and Xu Tianyi?”

Putting down the pen and looking up, Luo Qianqian smiled, ”Whatever you think is what it is then. I neither admit nor deny. I don’t admit because it’s not the case right now, and I don’t deny because it may be in the future.”

The class president stood up with a smack on the desk, looking rather smug, ”You hear that? I knew I didn’t hear wrong.”

”Aren’t you afraid it will affect his grades?” The girl covered her mouth, admiring Luo Qianqian’s boldness to say such a thing; this was unique in this school, at this age, and in this class. ”My name is Lu Ping.”

With a slight smile, Luo Qianqian looked up into Lu Ping’s eyes, her own clear and pure, and replied, ”Nice to meet you. If he could be influenced by me, he wouldn’t be Xu Tianyi.”

”True.” Lu Ping nodded with a smile, ”Before you came, I never saw him smile. Seeing you hurt like this, was he taking care of you during his long absence?”

Luo Qianqian was taken aback for a moment, feeling a bit guilty, but looking at Xu Tianyi’s desk, she saw that he wasn’t studying high school textbooks, but books she couldn’t even understand. Then she nodded, her eyes turning red with emotion, ”If it weren’t for him, I probably would be worried about my grades, but with him, I’m not worried at all.”

The class president sighed, ”Look at them, just look at them. Ah, I need to find someone understanding in the future.”

Luo Qianqian: ”...”

Lu Ping: ”...”

Everyone in the classroom: ”...”

Xu Tianyi, holding books at the classroom door: ”You’re thinking too far ahead.”

”You can’t crush my hopes. No matter what, I’m more mature than you... older than you, okay?” After getting eye-rolls from his classmates, the class president quietly changed the subject: ”I’m not bad-looking either, so why can’t I have a couple of requirements for a future girlfriend?”

”You’ll talk when you find one,” said the class president’s deskmate, patting his shoulder and looking at him sarcastically.
