Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 335: Chapter 317: Do You Know About Amway?

”Brother, you go find our uncle first, I need to speak with Mr. Hu for a moment,” Luo Qianqian said to Luo Yanwu, her expression sincere.

Luo Yanwu frowned, but remembering where he was, he nodded and warned, ”Call me if you need anything.” Then he entered the house with a wary look toward Hu Si.

Hu Si touched his nose and moved behind Luo Qianqian’s wheelchair. ”Do I really look like a bad guy? Personally, I think I come off as rather dashing and suave.”

Luo Qianqian asked coldly, ”Who exactly are you? What is your purpose for getting close to us?”

Hu Si’s eyes widened. Seriously? The kid doesn’t know his identity? It’s not strange that Hei Yu didn’t say, but even Qin Leng hadn’t mentioned it?

After some thought, he leaned in close to Luo Qianqian’s ear with a teasing darkness in his voice, ”Have you ever heard of... Amway?”

Luo Qianqian was a bit confused, ”Are you into pyramid schemes?”

Hu Si’s cheeks twitched as his face cooled, the renowned medical genius being part of a pyramid scheme?

”I don’t have money, my brother has no money, our uncle has no money, Grandpa Wei’s family doesn’t have money either. You’ve got the wrong person. I also don’t believe in all that nonsense about problems disappearing by lighting incense and dancing. I’m an atheist, by the way, and just so you know, I’m a Taurus. My only defining feature is being stingy.”

Hu Si was both amused and exasperated. Had this kid’s thoughts been jolted so hard they short-circuited?

”Just ninety-nine, and in three months, you could be earning hundreds of thousands,” Hu Si considered pretending to be from a pyramid scheme with deadpan seriousness.

Only then did Luo Qianqian frown and glance at him, ”It seems you’re not one.”

Yet at this moment, Hu Si felt inexplicably, ”You could even become a millionaire.”

”So unappealing, who would believe that? You’re new to this, aren’t you?” Now Luo Qianqian was back to normal, her mind churning. She grinned and began to mimic earnestly, ”To succeed, first go crazy, the mind simple and charging forward! ’Two rituals govern the world: courtesy and reason in speech; three principles set the land: concepts, perspectives, and methods.’ If you don’t know this, what kind of Amway are you pretending to be?” Luo Qianqian curled her lip, but the wariness in her eyes didn’t lessen. ”Who are you really?”

As Luo Qianqian rambled on with fairly reasonable points, Hu Si also spaced out a bit. Was this what pyramid schemes are like? Truly brainwashing and frightening... ”I am Hu Si.”

”Your identity.”

”A doctor.”

”How do you know about my Fourth Brother’s situation?”

”Would you believe me if I said I guessed it?” Hu Si touched his nose. He knew only that Luo Yanwu sang off-key, so he had simply taken a shot in the dark, unaware of the details since he wasn’t a private detective.

”I don’t believe it.”

”There’s nothing I can do if you don’t believe me. I really did guess,” said Hu Si, spreading his hands and pushing Luo Qianqian’s wheelchair around the yard. The security guard at the door found Luo Qianqian’s baffled appearance amusing, yet stood upright and formal. Seeing the laughter in his eyes, Luo Qianqian felt even more embarrassed and annoyed, and said to Hu Si, ”Are you going to push me around outside until I freeze into an icicle?”

”I’m waiting for you to talk to me,” Hu Si smiled. ”Let me introduce myself again. I’m Hu Si, and from today, I’m your primary physician. A good citizen with no criminal records, there’s no need to worry.”

The defensiveness in Luo Qianqian’s eyes deepened, ”I’ve killed someone.”

”I know,” Hu Si raised an eyebrow. ”It seems in this room, aside from the ladies, there’s hardly anyone untouched by blood.”

Luo Qianqian gritted her teeth. Wasn’t she a girl?

”You are a girl.” Sensing Luo Qianqian’s dissatisfaction, Hu Si explained, and continued to push her chair around. ”The reason your tolerance is so low has to do with your limited experiences and also your age. Qin Liang never intended for you to be stained with blood, so he never gave you the chance to be. He just wanted you to gain some experience, and he didn’t foresee this situation. He blames himself too.”

”Do you really know Boss?” Hearing Qin Liang’s name, Luo Qianqian’s eyes twitched, he was one of the few people there whom she could trust.

”I called him to ask about your situation,” Hu Si nodded, then realizing that Luo Qianqian couldn’t see, he began to speak.

Luo Qianqian smiled, ”Causing Boss to worry.”

”You can’t suspect me of being a bad person just because I’m not as good-looking as him,” Hu Si said somewhat inexplicably.

Luo Qianqian was startled, turned her head to look at Hu Si’s face—which was indeed quite handsome—and said, ”Sorry, I didn’t pay any attention to your appearance before, you are very handsome. How do you plan to treat me? Hypnosis?”

”If you need it, we can do that, but I’d rather not proceed in the usual way,” Hu Si said earnestly.

Luo Qianqian sighed, she also didn’t want to be treated that way, but as she thought about that moment: ”Ough...” Luo Qianqian suddenly bent forward, vomiting up the porridge she had just eaten for lunch, her complexion turning awful.

Hu Si bent down, took a clean handkerchief out of his pocket, and wiped Luo Qianqian’s mouth, ”Go back and drink some water.”

Luo Qianqian wiped her mouth with the handkerchief and straightened up with Hu Si’s help, looking at the handkerchief, ”I’ll wash it and bring it back to you.”

Hu Si nodded and didn’t seem to care much, as he had other spare handkerchiefs in his jacket.

Upon seeing Luo Qianqian vomiting, Luo Yanwu rushed out, looking at her anxiously, ”What’s wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable? Do we need to go to the hospital?”

Hu Si touched his nose awkwardly; even with him present, did they still need to ask such questions? The members of the Luo Family really weren’t giving him any face.

Luo Qianqian shook her head, ”It’s nothing, I just thought of something. What should we do about this?”

”It’s no big deal, I’ll clean it up in a moment,” Luo Yanwu looked at his sister’s forced smile and sighed, ”Go back to your room, don’t catch a cold.”

The other people in the room had naturally seen Luo Qianqian suddenly throw up, but they weren’t as agitated as Luo Yanwu, for Hu Si was more than just a psychologist.

”Okay,” Luo Qianqian narrowed her eyes and, the next second, everything went black as she lost consciousness.

Seeing Hu Si administering the acupuncture to his sister, who immediately fainted, Luo Yanwu was completely dumbfounded and exploded the next moment, ”What are you doing?!”

Hu Si put his finger to his lips: ”Shhh.”

Then he slowly pushed the wheelchair into the room, ”Take her to her room to rest, she should be able to sleep well now.”

Seeing Luo Yanwu still looking cautious, Old Master Wei laughed, ”Everyone in the Luo Family is protective of their own. Don’t you see Little Luo sitting there just fine? What’s got you so worked up?”

Luo Yanwu was taken aback, then looked at his uncle, who was calmly drinking tea, and felt instantly embarrassed. If Hu Si were a bad guy with intentions towards his sister, his uncle would definitely be the first one to lose his temper.

Hu Si looked at Luo Yanwu and smiled, ”It seems like I don’t matter at all to you siblings.”

”Who dares to say that?” Old Master Wei laughed heartily, ”This is truly unheard of. It just shows your fame isn’t big enough yet.”

Luo Xiying rolled her eyes; she wouldn’t bother introducing her nephew and niece to this guy. The more they ignored Hu Si, the happier she was.

Thinking about his niece’s situation, Luo Xiying sighed; she had been holding on for so long, working so hard, yet still smiling. The child must be missing home, right?
