Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 325: Chapter 307: Injured

The strong man had one hand cut by a knife and the other bitten, both thanks to Luo Qianqian—wishing he could have dealt with his opponents swiftly. However, at this moment, this was his hope.

”You step back!” Looking at the size of the car window, the strong man slightly frowned and shouted at Li Zexi.

Li Zexi understood what the strong man was about to do and continued to aim the gun at him, his feet moving back a little.

The strong man took a deep breath, overlooked the blood and vomit on the ground, and with a kick, he sent the door flying. Li Zexi paled, watching the strong man grip Luo Qianqian by the neck as he rummaged through a bag on the passenger seat, feeling a sense of dread.

The strong man pulled out a handgun, loaded it expertly, and aimed at Luo Qianqian, ”Heh, the game just started.”

Luo Qianqian, feeling somewhat relaxed from being away from the carriage, fainted the next second.

Watching Luo Qianqian collapse on the ground, the strong man looked frustrated. His injured hand made it impossible to hold her and the gun simultaneously. Now that she had fainted, he had no choice but to kick Luo Qianqian away, sending her crashing into a tree. She didn’t even open her eyes as she spat out a mouthful of blood. The strong man raised his gun towards Luo Qianqian.

It was only when Li Zexi fired his gun that he realized it had no bullets. He could only use the gun as a brick, hurling it at the strong man. It hit the strong man’s arm, causing the shot to go astray. Luo Qianqian’s left arm was hit by the bullet. Seeing it wasn’t near her heart, Li Zexi breathed a sigh of relief.

Glaring with anger, he shouted at the bitten strong man, ”You old bastard, have the guts to come at me, why pick on a young girl?” Saying this, he bent down, picked up a stone from the ground, and threw it at the strong man.

Perhaps because of the impact inside the car, both were not very clear-headed. The altercation also instantly fueled the strong man’s anger; he started shooting at Li Zexi, thinking Luo Qianqian, already shot and bleeding unconscious, would die from blood loss soon enough and could be dealt with later. He completely forgot about the pursuers following him and also didn’t realize Li Zexi was trying to distract him to prevent him from continuing to attack Luo Qianqian on the ground.

”You brat, let grandpa show you what being unassuming means!” he shouted, raising his gun with a look of madness.

Li Zexi glanced at Luo Qianqian on the ground and the crazed strong man. Without hesitation, he ducked behind a nearby tree, picked up a stone, and immediately after the strong man fired a shot, he threw it to draw the strong man’s attention. Then he moved behind another tree, slowly drawing the strong man away from Luo Qianqian.

When Qin Liang arrived, seeing Luo Qianqian unconscious on the ground, covered in blood, he was stunned. This person was not only his subordinate but also the descendant of his brother. His eyes instantly reddened. Hearing gunshots nearby and guessing more accomplices were involved, he carried Luo Qianqian to the car and instructed the remaining people, ”Follow me, you two take her to the hospital!”

Then he grabbed his equipment and headed deep into the forest.

When Luo Xiying and Bai Yizhu arrived, Luo Qianqian had already been taken away by the car. Despite this, seeing the blood on the ground, Luo Xiying’s face turned pale. Her lips tightly pressed, she hesitated not a moment to glance at the car, the bloodstains on the glass shocking. Seeing two people inside, Bai Yixian also froze, then tapped Luo Xiying, entered the narrow carriage through the kicked-open door, and saw the strong man driving with his head shot through and another strong man lying stiff against the front window, checking his weak pulse.

Getting out of the car, he whispered, ”There’s one dead and one wounded inside, the dead one had his head blown off. It looks like there was a struggle inside as well, the bloodstains on the ground don’t just appear splattered but also dripped.”

Luo Xiying nodded slightly, just about to say something, when Qin Liang, dragging the injured Li Zexi and an unconscious burly man, exited the woods. Seeing Luo Xiying who had arrived at the scene, he felt somewhat guilty, ”Qianqian, off to the hospital...”

Luo Xiying nodded, understanding from what Bai Yixian had said that someone must have been injured, though she didn’t know how seriously. Looking at the injured Li Zexi, she slowly said, ”Are you alright? Qianqian has troubled you on this journey.” Li Zexi was someone sent by the Wild Wolf Faction, and he knew it. Wild Wolf had dispatched this young man to secretly protect Luo Qianqian. As Luo Qianqian’s uncle, he was naturally very grateful.

Upon hearing Luo Xiying’s words, Li Zexi didn’t even have time to think about his own gunshot wound, urgently asking, ”Where is she? She was shot. I had drawn the attackers away before she had already been unconscious for a long time.”

Luo Xiying’s face instantly turned green, and he looked towards Qin Liang. Qin Liang nodded, ”I’ve had someone take her to the hospital already, her breathing is still relatively stable, and the bullet hit her arm.”

Bai Yixian observed Luo Xiying’s complexion and slightly furrowed his brow. He knew he couldn’t be so agitated, so he said to Qin Liang, ”There are two people in the car, one dead and one injured.”

At that moment, the ’one injured,’ the gentle-natured man, woke up, clutching his painfully throbbing forehead. Taking in his surroundings, he shivered, ruining the car was in shambles, and his elder brother who had been driving was already breathless, his body growing cold, filling him with sadness. However, his attention was quickly drawn to the captured burly man being dragged outside, feeling a disdain for him, thinking, ’Those without brains indeed fall easily.’

Moving slowly, he reached for a gun from the passenger seat, but since the door was kicked open, any large movement could alert those outside. He had to move slowly due to the severe impact causing his head to spin. Unaware, he moved too abruptly and was spotted by the ever-vigilant Bai Yixian, who exclaimed, ”He’s awake.” He then pointed the gun at the man’s head, ”Get down by yourself, or shall I help you?”

The gentle-natured man’s face turned sinister, yet he felt powerless. With his elder brother dead and the reckless man captured, facing too many opponents, he had no chance of escape. But if it meant pulling a few others down with him... His eyes flickered, he cooperatively walked down, but understood how hard it was to take others down with him given his current state. Moreover, with his brother dead, there was fear that those who had made deals with his brother would not be able to contact him, and it would not end well for his family or his brother’s family.

With this realization, he became resigned and said to Bai Yixian who was holding the gun, ”I can cooperate, but you must ensure the safety of our families!”

Qin Liang, taken aback by his cooperation, frowned, ”What are you planning?”

Luo Xiying, obviously used to such situations, coldly glanced at the burly man, ”Address, name, number of people.”

The burly man hesitated, then rattled off a stream of information. He added at the end, ”Once I see my family members, I will cooperate with you.” Then he said no more, not even sparing an extra glance.

Luo Xiying nodded, gave Qin Liang a knowing look, and Qin Liang nodded back, instructing the people behind him. Then they split into three groups: one to find and safely bring back the burly man’s family, one to take the three injured to the hospital, and Luo Xiying’s thoughts were especially on Luo Qianqian in the hospital while the last group, carrying the dead burly man, returned to the military base.
