Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Generous Zhang Jingjing’s Mom

”Tie Zhu, I’m here.” The office door was knocked open, and a handsome figure appeared before Luo Qianqian.

”Invoice, and then you can scram.” Bai Yizhu looked at his brother’s frivolous demeanor and coldly faced him, stretching out his right hand.

With a hurt look, Bai Yixian shook the papers in his hand and made a gesture as if clutching his heart, ”Tie Zhu, is this how you treat your Oppa?”

”This is a school.” Luo Qianqian felt sure that several hash symbols had just popped up on Bai Yizhu’s face like in an anime.

Bai Yixian winked at Luo Qianqian and grasped Bai Yizhu’s hand, expressing his brotherly love, ”Tie Zhu, don’t be so cold to your brother.”

”Is it really good that you’re here?” Bai Yizhu shook off Bai Yixian’s hand. ”Are you sure you’re safe right now?”

”It’s only because you were anxious to have it, that I delivered it to you.” Bai Yixian blinked his eyes sorrowfully at Bai Yizhu, looking like a seductive troublemaker, ”Now you’re blaming me, huh? Well, then I’m leaving.” With that, he pulled something out of his pocket and handed over the assorted papers he was holding to Bai Yizhu.

”...” Teacher Wang just wanted to ask what was wrong with these parents? One after another, they come and go as they please without regarding him, the homeroom teacher. What did they take him for?

”Teacher, this is the invoice for the damaged items; just have that parent compensate according to this. If they don’t want to compensate, purchasing an identical item is also fine.” Bai Yizhu glanced at the papers Bai Yixian had just handed him and then passed them to Teacher Wang.

”Hmm, okay.” Teacher Wang subconsciously took the things Bai Yizhu had handed him and looked over them. A bottle of milk required tax? These were bought by the case; the price per bottle was even several times higher than average milk. The bread, however, was ordinary, available in any bakery.

Luo Qianqian pretended not to care and glanced at the invoices, sighing. It looked like she couldn’t play dumb anymore. She definitely couldn’t afford this milk, even though she had some money in her hands now.

Luo Qianqian walked over to Luo Shufan, tugging on her brother’s sleeve, ”Brother, it’s all right, you guys can go back.”

”That’s not okay. What if someone bullies you?” Luo Shufan immediately rejected his sister’s suggestion without thinking. Luo Qianqian saw Teacher Wang’s face darken.

”Brother, you still have classes, and mom and stepmom are still in the principal’s office.” Luo Qianqian whispered in Luo Shufan’s ear, ”With you here, I don’t even feel comfortable pretending to be aggrieved.”

”Big Luo, let’s head back for now, we can come back at noon to check on her.” Bai Yizhu, seeing Luo Qianqian’s discomfort, spoke out to persuade.

”But, Qianqian...”

Luo Qianqian interrupted her brother’s hesitation, ”Brother, the teacher won’t let innocent people suffer, nor will he let the guilty escape punishment, right, Teacher Wang?”

”Setting a good example is essential.” Teacher Wang certainly knew about the incident that had occurred when Luo Shufan was present; he didn’t want to become another Qian Xinxin.

With her brother around, she wouldn’t take the initiative; she had to set an example to deter those with designs on her, otherwise she’d face many troubles later, just like her brother’s end-of-term cheating report. Luo Qianqian sighed inwardly, sometimes being overly protected was a torture too.

”Brother, I’ll wait for you at the school gate after lunch.” Luo Qianqian made a firm decision, and Bai Yizhu led a somewhat reluctant Luo Shufan away.

”Don’t worry, I’ll bring Big Luo over at noon.” While walking, he tried to reassure Luo Shufan, ”If Little Luo is bullied by noon, then we’ll talk. Right now, it’s better to go back to class.” His voice gradually faded, and Luo Qianqian breathed a sigh of relief.

”Your brother still protects you just the same.” He Wenyu patted Luo Qianqian’s shoulder, speaking somewhat enviously.

Luo Qianqian gave He Wenyu a cold look, ”Aren’t you the same? You’re Shufan’s sworn sister. If there’s anything, my brother will stand up for you too. He’s our brother after all.”

”Don’t think you’re something special just because you have a brother!” Jingjing, who had been silent for a long while, clenched the two report cards in her hand tightly, ”I really don’t know how you copied your way to this performance.”

”Whose did I copy, yours or someone else’s? Apart from Xiao Yu and me, is there a third person in our class who did this test?” Luo Qianqian scoffed, ”Is this jealousy, or envy, or is it hatred because we stole the spotlight that belonged to you?”

”Heh, who would be jealous of kids like you?” Jingjing didn’t care that Teacher Wang’s brow was already tightly furrowed, ”Aren’t they just little kids who excel only in academics? What can you do if I wrongfully accuse you?”

”Nothing, we won’t have anything to do with each other in the future, so why bother about what a passerby has said?” Luo Qianqian shook her head, wondering how, at her age of over twenty, she was squabbling like a child.

After hearing this, Jingjing threw the two sheets of paper at Luo Qianqian, ”Who are you looking down on? Just skipping grades, heh, heh.” Jingjing clenched her fists tightly, ”Just you wait, if a junior can reach that level, naturally I can too!”

”Hello, may I come in?” A gentle voice came from outside the door, the tone soft and one could tell from the voice that it was a gentle and beautiful woman.

”Yes, please come in.” Teacher Wang was startled and walked over to open the door without looking at the three children in the office, ”May I ask who you are?”

”I’m Jingjing’s mother, just now Jingjing called me and told me there was something up?” the woman said. Luo Qianqian’s jaw dropped slightly, the woman in front of her looked no older than the age Luo Qianqian was when she unexpectedly returned to the present. He Wenyu was also staring wide-eyed, finding it hard to believe that such a wild Jingjing could have such a gentle and beautiful mother.

”Mom, I just threw this brat’s milk and bread hat, help me pay for them,” Jingjing said, walking proudly to the woman’s side and looking up.

”You broke something, huh? You really should be more careful.” The woman said as she pulled out her wallet, ”How much?”

Luo Qianqian frowned, wasn’t this parent the slightest bit reproachful of her child, nor did she make her child apologize?

”Here is the receipt.” Teacher Wang handed the receipt somewhat shyly, blushing a bit in the presence of the beautiful woman.

The woman took the receipt without saying anything, not even a complaint, and directly pulled out a large bill for Jingjing, then paused and took out two more, ”Money can solve any problem that it can solve, just compensate double, and here’s another for your allowance, okay?”

”Yay, Mom’s the best.” Jingjing took the money, her face full of glee, smugly looking at Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian looked at Jingjing and then at He Wenyu, only seeing envy on He Wenyu’s face. Then she looked at Teacher Wang, who was just in awe of the woman’s physique and beauty. Was she the only one who found this kind of parenting strange?

Luo Qianqian lowered her head to think, then spoke up, ”Auntie, don’t you think Jingjing’s actions are incorrect, and she should apologize to me?”

”Why should Jingjing apologize if it wasn’t on purpose? In our family, she’s the little princess, and making the princess apologize would be too hard on her,” the woman glanced at Luo Qianqian, her eyes showing her disgust, ”Besides, we’ve already compensated you double, what more do you want? Greedy?”

Looking at the woman’s eyes, Luo Qianqian felt a chill down her spine, and seeing Jingjing’s smug and triumphant gaze, she no longer pursued the apology, ”It’s nothing.” She then pulled He Wenyu’s hand and sat aside, watching how Teacher Wang would handle the situation.

”Teacher Wang, we often hear our Jingjing praise you, I hope you can look out for our Jingjing a bit. She’s never done housework at home, so please take care of her,” she said unreservedly in front of Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu, while taking out a red envelope.

Luo Qianqian quickly pulled He Wenyu to look at the crumpled report cards, paying no attention to Jingjing and her group.
