The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 194: Chapter 194- Returning from the Tainted Lands

”Kuhhh... Why!!” Her agonising like that was not new to her order. Those high ranking knights close to her were already aware of this side of her.

”There she goes again. Big sister is usually all dignified and noble, rarely, if any, showing signs of being fazed. However, when in front of that man, she becomes like that”.

”Well, you can’t blame her after all, she really likes him. Once you fall for a man, you too will understand one day”.

The high ranking knights of the Lunar Veil discussed. As it appeared, Leona Marcella Valkyrie, one of the seven great knight commanders, a level 9 superhuman and one of the most beautiful knights in the world who had charmed countless men with her grace and power, was a big Tsundere.

.

.

Three days later, the knights orders having bid goodbye to the dark and monotonous tainted land, arrived in front of a crossroad teeming with life.

”We will be heading for the capital. What about you, Sir Reinhardt?”

Leona questioned, staring forward at the road that diverged into four different ways. One led towards the capital, while one led towards the northern region of the Kingdom.

As evident from her words and the scenery, they had already entered the borders of Solaris.

”We will be heading back to our city. I believe there is no need for both of us to be present for the report”.

Reinhardt thought over it before deciding to head back to his city. A part of the reason was that he left the city in a very precarious stage of rebuilding itself from the ground anew right now, and the other part was that Leona and her knight order was enough to report the situation back to her Majesty.

Unless she summoned him to the palace to brief her about the mission, there was no need for him to go out of his way to go to the capital.

”I see in that case, we part ways here. It was an honor traveling with you.”

Leona steered her warhorse and led her knight towards the path to the capital, all the while agonising in her head.

When the commander and the Knights of the Lunar Veil left, the members of the Order of the Temple of Light gave exaggerated sighs. Especially the male members of the knight order.

During the travel back from the Tainted Lands, some of them became acquainted with each other, enough to call each other friends.

One such knight was Vangeance, who hid his manly tears after the spring that had bloomed in his life for a short while, left away without even so much as a bye.

”Get over it, she was not interested in you in the first place. The only reason she even showed some interest in you is because of the skills you used.”

Silvia spoke in exasperation from the side. This idiot friend of hers was just too gullible and weak to beauties. Even though his appearance was rough from the outside, he was actually a big softie.

”H-How can you say that? She was my sixteenth love. Ah, I guess I am never destined for true love.”

While conversing about stupid stuff during the travel, the Order of the Temple of the Light returned to the Snowpoint City.

After a week of absence, the city looked completely different than before. Planned roads, clean drainage system, large swathes of building, and the vibrancy of the populace presented a picture that one could not even imagine was possible more than a month ago.

”It hardly seems like the city we first arrived to when we came here,” Bob couldn’t help but comment at the stark change.

It was not only him; all the members of the temple of light felt the same. They had all seen how the city looked before and after the change. What’s more, all this came after Reinhardt took the seat as the new Governor of the city.

Having returned from an expedition, the latter naturally first returned to the knights’ headquarters.

Meticulously, Melissa, Anastasia, and other subordinates of his were also waiting for him there. It appeared that they already knew he would come here before the city lord’s mansion.

”Welcome back, Lord Reinhardt.” Anastasia dutifully bowed towards him, then tactfully went on to greet her own husband, whom she hadn’t seen for over a week.

”I assume there hadn’t been any trouble while I was gone?”

Reinhardt questioned his secretary, who had been looking at him quite affectionately. His words caused her mood to sour slightly.

”The thing you ask about is the city?”

”Of course, I am worried about my secretary too. However, I know she is a capable and meticulous woman who can handle herself”.

”Hmm, my lord is quite eloquent with words. I wonder how many girls have been swayed by that tongue of yours?”

”It’s not too difficult to count. I didn’t want to brag, but I am quite adept with my tongue. Perhaps you can get to experience it someday,” Reinhardt grinned, his words laced with deeper meaning.

Melissa immediately blushed, understanding the true meaning behind his words. At the same time, that scandalous night filled with passion and heat flashed in her mind. She arched her head down, too embarrassed to look him in the eye anymore.

Seeing her act like that, Reinhardt chuckled. The two of them walked side by side, checking up on the citizens of the city before heading towards the mansion.

Once inside, he found an appropriate excuse to separate from Melissa and called out to his shadow.

”How was it? Given that she is still alive, I assume that she hasn’t done anything to betray me?”

His shadow quivered, and a sexy female assassin materialised from it.

”For now, however, master shouldn’t get too attached to her,” Karina spoke with an obvious pout. It was clear that she still didn’t trust that woman who tried to drug her master, one bit.
