King of the Wilderness

Chapter 330: Chapter 212: Polar Bear at the Door!

Lin Yu’an explained, ”This is the crucial point, I observed all night, for over six hours, and the mother bear did not appear.”

”There are no traces of any adult bear in the surrounding snow, only of this cub. It is now very weak, curled up in the snow, looking like it’s about to freeze, I highly suspect it is an abandoned or lost orphan.”

Mark let out a long breath, but his tone remained heavy, ”Oh my God, Lin, this is equally tricky. Listen, you did the right thing, absolutely do not approach it.”

”Meanwhile, always keep that handgun with you, and make sure the GoPro stays on. Do not shoot unless your life is threatened at the last moment, and definitely do not actively hunt it!”

”Polar bears are species listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, and are strictly protected in Canada.”

”We will immediately contact Environment Canada and local wildlife protection organizations, but you need to know, this takes time.”

”They need to coordinate, need to send a professional team over, at best, it will take two days to reach your location.”

”Two days?” Lin Yu’an’s heart sank.

”Mark, I estimate it can’t last two days, not even two hours given its current state.”

”Lin, I know! But you must hear me out!” Mark’s tone suddenly became extremely serious, he almost warned him word by word.

”I fully understand your feelings, but you must understand what you will face if you act on your own. I’ll only say this once, listen carefully.”

”If you touch it, you will be violating the Canadian Wildlife Act. The show crew will be immediately sued! You will be fined heavily, possibly imprisoned, then deported and never allowed to enter Canada again. This is the most serious, there’s no room for negotiation.”

”Moreover, as the producer, I formally inform you, any unauthorized intervention will be considered as a serious violation, which means you will be disqualified from the competition immediately!”

”All your efforts over the past month will be in vain, you won’t get a penny of prize money. The whole crew will also have their permit revoked for lack of supervision, everyone will fail together with you.”

”Then, don’t think public opinion will be on your side. Do you think the entire world audience will see you as a hero? You’re wrong! We’ll all be caught in a media storm, you’ll be on Canada’s morning news.”

”Countless experts and environmental organizations will criticize us for showboating, being unprofessional, using unprofessional methods to harm wildlife, they’ll say you are a brute who disregards rules, you’ll be severely cyberbullied.”

”Lin, even if you’re lucky enough to gain some public support, you’ll still be stuck with lawsuits, labeled as a troublemaker, and your future path as a wilderness survival blogger will become very difficult.”

Mark took a deep breath, his tone slightly softened, but still full of warning.

”So, Lin, I’m asking you, for everyone’s sake. Don’t do anything, leave this matter to professionals, this is an order, and advice. Understand?”

”..... I understand.” Lin Yu’an replied softly, but his fingers holding the phone unconsciously tightened.

He understood every word Mark said, and the heavy consequences behind each word.

When he hung up, he looked again at the small figure outside the shelter, trembling slightly in the cold wind...
