King of the Wilderness

Chapter 314: Chapter 207: Spear and the Hunting Plan (With Many Images, Must-Read)_3

Then, he precisely embedded the tail of the flint spearhead into the groove, ensuring the angle and position were perfect. He took out a small black block, resembling tree resin.

”This is natural glue made from a mixture of spruce resin and charcoal powder.” He heated the glue block by the fire until it softened, then evenly smeared it over the joint between the spearhead and the wooden shaft, filling all the gaps.

Finally, he took out the steel tripwire and, with full strength, meticulously bound the spearhead and the wooden shaft together in a crisscross fashion.

Once the steel tripwire and resin glue had fully solidified, a flint spear approximately two meters long, its center of gravity perfectly exuding a primitive aura, was created by him!

An extremely clear and aggressive plan had already formed in his mind.

”Passive defense will only deplete your energy in endless waiting and anxiety. That wolf has already exposed its presence; it knows there’s food here. Rather than waiting for it to choose the moment to attack me, I should choose the battlefield and timing.”

”At first light tomorrow, I’ll bring the bow and this newly completed spear and go proactively track it.”

”I need to establish absolute dominion over this territory! Any potential threats must be eliminated!”

This proactive decision was as natural as eating and drinking, no longer about fear-driven defense, but about clearing territory and resources!

At this moment, the fish skin in the pot had turned golden brown and curled, with a thick golden layer of fish oil accumulated at the bottom.

He took out the crispy fish skin and set it aside to cool.

Lin Yu’an glanced at the snow-white lake trout fillet he had completely sliced off. It was still half-frozen, and the middle part felt stone-hard to the touch.

He explained to the camera, ”You can’t directly fry such a thick ’ice block.’ The outside will burn while the inside remains raw, so I need to process it first.”

He then stood the enormous half-frozen fish fillet on birch bark and, like a Japanese cuisine chef slicing tuna, horizontally sliced the fish meat from the fillet with a sharp hunting knife.

Because the fish meat still had hardness, he could easily slice each piece to uniform thickness, only about half a centimeter thick.

The snow-white fish slices, with icy crystals, shimmered with a beautiful luster.

”See, in this state, slicing becomes easier.” He displayed the thin slices in his hand.

”Now, each slice is uniformly thick, and the heating surface area has greatly increased, allowing them to cook instantly.”

Then, he slid the thinly sliced fish meat, piece by piece, into the boiling fish oil.

”Sizzling——”

As soon as the fish slices touched the hot oil, the edges immediately curled up from the high temperature, emitting a violent sound, and white steam instantly rose.

This was no longer leisurely pan-frying but high-temperature rapid cooking like stir-fry!

The color of the fish meat visibly changed from semi-transparent snow-white to opaque milky white, with a layer of tempting golden brown formed on the edges from the hot oil.

The whole process didn’t even require flipping and took less than thirty seconds for the first batch of fish slices to be fully cooked. He used a wooden fork to quickly scoop them out of the pot and place them on birch bark.

Lin Yu’an didn’t eat immediately but continued sliding the remaining fish slices into the oil pot for rapid cooking. Soon, a large pile of aromatic golden-brown fish slices formed a small hill in front of him.

He first picked up the piece of fish skin he had taken out earlier, now cooled and as crispy as potato chips, and put it in his mouth.

”Crunch!” The crisp chewing sound made him squint with satisfaction.

Then, he turned his gaze to the steaming pile of fish slices, picked up a piece of the hot fish slice. The outer layer, transformed by the high heat frying, had become a thin crispy shell, while the inside remained incredibly tender.

He put the fish slice into his mouth, and the slight sound of the crispy shell was followed by the almost chew-free, tofu-like tender fish meat that melted instantly in his mouth.

Warm, energy-filled food slipped into his stomach, and a powerful warmth instantly spread throughout his body.

Piece after piece, with a nearly greedy speed, he sent this high-protein, high-fat delicacy into his body.

After consuming about a third of the fish slices, he forced himself to stop, taking a long breath.

The warmth from his stomach made his brain, dulled from long-term energy deficiency, clear and vibrant again.

He glanced at the completely thawed fish skeleton and viscera bundle in the corner, which was starting to emit a faint fishy odor, and immediately stood up.

”Post-meal leisure time, before I rest, I must clean up these things. If not dealt with promptly, the entire shelter will be filled with nauseating fishy odors by tomorrow, which would be a mental torment.”

Lin Yu’an laid the fish skeleton, now with only a thin layer of red meat, flat on the birch bark again. It had softened completely and could be finely decomposed.

With the tip of the knife, he carefully sliced open the now softened abdominal membrane, revealing the entire intact, brightly colored set of viscera inside.

Then, he extracted the viscera completely and began sorting them on another clean piece of birch bark, like an experienced surgeon organizing surgical instruments.

”Now, let’s see what we’ve got.”

He pointed with the tip of the knife, ”First, there’s the river trout liver, a top-notch vitamin supplement. I’ll slice it thin and lightly fry it in the remaining fish oil. It can combat fatigue and maintain immunity.”

”Next is the fish roe, pure protein and phospholipid. I’ll mash them in a wooden bowl, mix a little water and salt to make the most primitive ’energy paste,’ providing strength replenishment at any time.”

”As for the remaining inedible viscera, they will become my ’welcome gift’ for that lone wolf.”

”I’ll pack them into a container and freeze it outside the shelter. Tomorrow, I’ll set some traps. Since it’s interested in my food, I’ll use food to welcome its return!”

He then neatly arranged the sorted fish fillets, fish liver, fish roe, bait viscera, and skeleton in different corners of the shelter, carefully wrapping them with birch bark to prevent the odor from leaking out.

After completing all this, he finally felt a touch of fatigue.

Lin Yu’an walked to the fireplace and carefully poured the remaining golden fish oil from the pot into a container he’d previously made from birch bark.

”This oil is my most important source of cooking and heat for the foreseeable future.”

Now, with food in his stomach and reserves by his side, weapons upgraded, and a proactive plan formed.

He added firewood to the fireplace, quietly watching the flames rise higher. Tonight, he needed to conserve all his energy.

Because tomorrow would be a battle to decide the ownership of this land.
