Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2520: Chapter 1850: Invitation from the Yang Family (2)

If I had never known about this matter, the Wei Family would have soon ”woken” me up.

”You, give Bai Xiaosheng a call in a moment, use my name. I’ve met him, and he knows who I am. Invite him over for dinner at our place tomorrow,” Yang Junluo instructed, ”I’ll send my private plane to pick him up tomorrow.”

Receiving such treatment from Yang Junluo, there are likely only a handful of people in the entire African business world who could enjoy it.

Yang Xiaoyun understood that her father was giving Bai Xiaosheng due respect, and more importantly, it was a display for the Wei Family.

Yang Yishan appeared to have something to say, signaling his father with his eyes.

Yang Xiaoyun noticed this and understood her daughter’s intention; actually, he was just about to address the matter himself.

”Dad, are you trying to correct our previous actions... but then, are we going to cooperate with those Huaxia businessmen again?” Yang Xiaoyun probed.

This was a difficult proposal; they had already made agreements with the Western businessmen, and the contracts were about to be signed. Shifting the business back to the previously offended Huaxia businessmen would please neither side.

Furthermore, even if the Yang Family redirected the business back to the Huaxia businessmen, could those people really act as if nothing happened...

What would their previous behavior signify then?

Were they fooling around...

”Bullshit, did I even suggest that?” As Yang Xiaoyun was lost in thought, Yang Junluo glared with his small eyes and scolded, ”Do you really think your father has gone senile? Well, a smart horse never turns back on its path. How could I possibly drop the Western business to rekindle cooperation with Huaxia businessmen?”

Yang Xiaoyun was taken aback by the reprimand, and Yang Yishan dared not make a sound.

How could they forget where their cunning nature originated from...

”I just want to smooth things over with Bai Xiaosheng, just with him alone!” Yang Junluo nodded, tugging his sparse beard as he spoke, ”I heard from you that in the cooperation, Bai Xiaosheng isn’t involved. It means it’s unrelated to his interests, just his face was damaged here... even if there’s some loss, he resolved it himself. Inviting him for a meal and having a chat is showing him face, and I believe I can explain this to the Wei Family.”

Yang Xiaoyun suddenly had an epiphany, nodding repeatedly.

”But what if Bai Xiaosheng still wants to reclaim the cooperation for the Huaxia businessmen.” Yang Yishan couldn’t help but voice this concern, ”When someone receives too much courtesy, they might overstep, Grandpa, what will you do then?”

This was indeed a problem.

Yang Xiaoyun quickly added, ”If Bai Xiaosheng knows you’re showing him face on behalf of the Wei Family, he might indeed make excessive demands.”

In response, Yang Junluo sneered.

”Are you two idiots?” Yang Junluo burst out, ”I’ve personally stepped up to appease Bai Xiaosheng, haven’t I shown enough respect to the Wei Family? Haven’t I done enough? Even Wei Tianhe couldn’t find any fault! If, after all this, the Wei Family still makes a move against us, I’ll gather a few old friends and have a serious talk with the Wei Family!”

As Yang Junluo said this, it was as if he was standing on moral high ground, brimming with confidence.

Hearing this, Yang Xiaoyun and Yang Yishan nodded continuously in agreement, relieved.

”What are you standing around for? Hurry up and arrange it!” Yang Junluo glared at Yang Xiaoyun and commanded.

The latter quickly smiled and turned to make arrangements.

”Girl, change my tea, make sure the water is hot.” Yang Junluo said to Yang Yishan.

Yang Yishan quickly approached with a smile and carried away the bowl of covered tea.

Yang Junluo sat on the sofa, his small but bright eyes squinting slightly, muttering to himself, ”Bai Xiaosheng! It’s been a long time since we last met! This kid, with his sharp tongue, isn’t easy to deal with, even that old thing from the Luo Family has suffered a loss to him! This time, I wonder if it’ll be easy to communicate with him!”

...

Bai Xiaosheng, on his end, had just finished handling all the arrangements with the business group, instructing everyone to proceed quickly, when he received a phone call.

The name displayed made Bai Xiaosheng raise an eyebrow.

Yang Xiaoyun?

Why is he calling me?

Did he hear about the Maiwen Transport Company and that third-party sales company, and wants to discuss it with me?

Or to mock me for ultimately purchasing that second-hand cruise ship and repaying a huge amount of money to their Yang Family’s business?

However, I’m not someone Bai Xiaosheng that you can easily fool!

Bai Xiaosheng composed himself before answering the call and putting it to his ear.

”Hello, is this Mr. Yang?”

Bai Xiaosheng’s voice was calm and indifferent, with no trace of the scheming he had just completed against the Yang Family.

Although those arrangements had just been put in place and needed time to yield results, Bai Xiaosheng had asked all parties to keep it secret for now until the right moment to catch the Yang Family unprepared.

This wouldn’t take long, and at the latest, they would know the outcome by tomorrow!

Until then, Bai Xiaosheng intended not to reveal anything.

”Is this Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, it’s Yang Xiaoyun here.” On the other end, Yang Xiaoyun’s voice was friendly and filled with warmth, sounding as though he and Bai Xiaosheng were old friends and there had never been any friction between them.

Even Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but be a bit surprised.

Bai Xiaosheng understood how to read people’s micro-expressions and detect emotions in their tone, but Yang Xiaoyun seemed capable of fooling even him, making Bai Xiaosheng find it tricky to judge.

”Mr. Yang, what is it you want?”

”It’s like this, my father is pleased to hear that you are the leader of our business group and also an old acquaintance, and would like to invite you for a simple dinner at our home. We’ve already sent a private plane over to fetch you, arriving by tomorrow, we hope Mr. Bai will do us the honor.”

Yang Xiaoyun’s words caused Bai Xiaosheng to be taken aback, ”Your father, inviting me for dinner?”

Yang Xiaoyun’s dad, inviting me for dinner?

What kind of play is this?

Do I even know your dad?

Bai Xiaosheng had looked into Yang Corporation, but only knew about their current leaders, including Yang Xiaoyun in the core circle, but never delved into the older generation.

”My father is Mr. Yang Junluo, an old friend of Wei Tianhe, and he mentioned meeting you at the Wei Family.” Yang Xiaoyun explained.

Hearing this, Bai Xiaosheng recalled immediately who that name belonged to!

During his first visit to the Wei Family, coinciding with Wei Xuelian’s grandfather Wei Tianhe’s birthday, many elders were present, including Old Mr. Yang Junluo!

Bai Xiaosheng’s mind conjured the image of that skinny, extremely shrewd elderly man and couldn’t help but express admiration.

Unexpectedly, he was actually the elder of the Yang Family!

A curious feeling suddenly surfaced in Bai Xiaosheng’s heart.

He had met Luo Yuefeng at the Wei Family, then clashed with the Luo Family in Europe, met Madam Qin at the Wei Family, and ended up interacting with the Qin Family in South America.

Now, he was to engage with the Yang Family elder he had met there.

It seemed his encounters were predestined...

”So it’s Old Mr. Yang!” Bai Xiaosheng expressed ”sudden realization” in the call, his tone growing respectful.

In any case, Yang Junluo was still a friend of Sir Wei, and as a junior, Bai Xiaosheng had to show some respect.

However, why was Old Mr. Yang suddenly inviting him for dinner—did he know Bai Xiaosheng before they clashed, or had he just found out?

Bai Xiaosheng thought it over and settled on the latter, as hinted by the change in Yang Xiaoyun’s attitude.

Still, being invited to dinner at this juncture carried certain implications.

”Mr. Bai, what do you say, will you do us this honor?” Yang Xiaoyun inquired politely.

Bai Xiaosheng pondered briefly before smiling, ”Since Old Mr. Yang is inviting, I will surely come!”

Bai Xiaosheng also extended this courtesy for Sir Wei’s sake, to show face.

Nevertheless, his future brother-in-law, Wei Xueqi, probably knew the true identity of the Yang Family all along and still chose to support him, which means face was the only requirement, not aggravating any conflict—Sir Wei wouldn’t blame Bai Xiaosheng.

And besides, his coordinate plans needed time to play out!

Bai Xiaosheng resolved that a meal wouldn’t make him abandon seeking justice; that wouldn’t happen!

Once his blade was drawn, Bai Xiaosheng intended to ”draw blood.”
