Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2508: Chapter 1846: Sinister Intentions

On the day Bai Xiaosheng and Dong Tianlu went to Maiwen Transport Company to discuss cooperation, the rest of their business group wasn’t idle; they continued as planned, examining the remaining enterprises of Yang Corporation in the Aisha Emirate.

However, it was just a cursory inspection, and no contracts were signed.

Previously, Yang Xiaoyun had mentioned that initially, they would sign about a fifth of the cooperation contracts. Then, they would wait for Bai Xiaosheng and the others to secure the transportation contracts to resolve transportation issues before signing the rest, to avoid insufficient transport capacity that would hinder cooperation.

This was quite reasonable.

The day after Bai Xiaosheng and Dong Tianlu secured the transportation company contract, the cooperation conditions with Yang Corporation were more or less reached. The two began to contact Yang Xiaoyun on behalf of the business group, preparing to sign the remaining contracts and quickly initiate the first phase of cooperation.

However, when Bai Xiaosheng called, Yang Xiaoyun’s side could never be reached.

Dong Tianlu contacted other people in Yang Corporation and received the reply that Mr. Yang had urgent matters, was on the way back to the group headquarters, and was likely on a plane. They promised to convey the messages as soon as contact was made.

Bai Xiaosheng, Dong Tianlu, and the group waited from morning to noon, then from noon to evening, but no message came from the other side.

Dong Tianlu contacted Yang Corporation again for inquiries and was told that as soon as they could reach Yang Xiaoyun, they would reply.

Actually, the contract signing with Yang Corporation was off to a good start, and there was no need to rush or worry too much since it was a big company that had previously cooperated with many of their people.

So Bai Xiaosheng and Dong Tianlu decided not to reach out again that day.

After all, they had proactively contacted twice in one day, and calling again might appear too anxious and lacking in composure.

Others felt the same way.

The next day, according to the original plan, the group visited other enterprises in the Aisha Emirate, remaining busy all day until returning to their base at dusk.

Bai Xiaosheng and Dong Tianlu tried to contact Yang Corporation again, and the response was no different from the previous day.

Was Yang Xiaoyun still on the road, and could it be that the Yang Corporation headquarters was on Mars with such a long journey?

The two couldn’t help but feel suspicious.

”Is something going on with the Yang Family? Yang Xiaoyun returns but is unreachable, and we can’t get in touch. If we can’t reach him, how do we explain to others? Everyone was enthusiastic, thinking they’d soon sign a big deal with the Yang Family, and have even begun to activate clients and channels on the domestic side. Now there’s no word, who can stand it?!” Dong Tianlu frowned as he spoke to Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng frowned and remained silent, searching for news on his phone.

In fact, the speed of information search in Bai Xiaosheng’s mind was even faster.

Recently, there was no explosive news about the Yang Family. At most, it was about their head currently participating in the Europe-America Chamber of Commerce, meeting some business magnates, or having friendly exchanges. Nothing major had happened.

Yang Xiaoyun being unreachable probably wasn’t related to the Yang Family...

Dong Tianlu continued to speak to Bai Xiaosheng, ”The batch of second-hand vehicles from Maiwen Transport Company has already arrived and is being reconditioned. The second-hand cruise ship has also left the home port for inspection and will soon head to the designated port. Although the chartering cost isn’t ours to bear, the docking costs are, and those aren’t small amounts. The third-party auction company has formally handed over a document, reiterating breach of contract issues. If they occur, we’ll have no choice but to buy the cruise ship.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded repeatedly.

”Don’t stay silent. What do you think about this matter?” Dong Tianlu demanded from Bai Xiaosheng, arms crossed.

”Let’s wait a bit longer. It might just be a coincidence that we contacted him while Yang Xiaoyun was busy these past two days. Don’t overthink. See if any news comes tomorrow.”

Bai Xiaosheng reassured Dong Tianlu with a smile.

Dong Tianlu looked slightly relieved and nodded.

The higher the position, the more one should remain calm when encountering issues. Without concrete information, one shouldn’t speculate wildly or worry unnecessarily. In this regard, Bai Xiaosheng did well, earning silent praise from Dong Tianlu.

Another day passed.

As noon approached, Bai Xiaosheng was preparing the next trip in his temporary office when he heard hurried footsteps approaching.

Then, his office door was suddenly pushed open, and a figure rushed in, shouting loudly—

”Bai Xiaosheng, something’s happened!”

The shout startled Lin Weiwei, who was beside Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng recognized the visitor—Dong Tianlu, who now held a phone, clearly looking both angry and shocked.

”What’s the matter?” Bai Xiaosheng stood up in surprise.

In his impression, Dong Tianlu was always a composed woman of great capability, never behaving in such a manner.

What could have agitated her?

Taking quick strides, Dong Tianlu approached, and Lin Weiwei quickly made way for her to reach Bai Xiaosheng.

”Look at this, this is news from half an hour ago!” Dong Tianlu handed her phone to Bai Xiaosheng, letting him see the content on it.

Dong Tianlu’s face was stern, teeth gritted, ”Yang Corporation signed an energy trading agreement with several large American companies, claiming they would achieve transport within a week. The involved Yang Corporation enterprises are precisely those in the Aisha Emirate that we visited days ago! Originally set to cooperate with us!”
