Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”Director Walsh, Melody Monroe’s acting is the real deal. I think she has a very serene personality, not the type to get all high and mighty just because she has a sugar daddy.”

Now, everyone suspected the rumors about Melody Monroe and Evan Fairchild were true.

”I was seriously sweating bullets that day. I never expected Melody Monroe to be so audacious, so wild.”

”If I had a chance like that, I’d do the same thing. We’re talking about Evan Fairchild! If you can get in with him, you’ve hit the jackpot.”

”You? Not a chance.”

”It’s nice to have a sugar daddy. I think Melody Monroe’s career is about to take off.”

”Yeah, she didn’t even sign with Starfall and started her own studio instead. What other newcomer would dare to do that? Even if they wanted to, they wouldn’t have the guts to strike out on their own.”

”I know, right? *Sigh*. Some people just have all the luck! That little pet pig must have been sent by Cupid. Of all the places it could have crawled, it just had to end up under Evan Fairchild’s car.”

”But I think Melody Monroe and Evan Fairchild just have a sugar baby arrangement. There’s no way they’ll end up together for real.”

”I agree. Evan Fairchild has been linked to so many scandals; practically every international star who ever made it big has had rumors about them and him. It’s not surprising he’d take an interest in someone as beautiful as Melody Monroe, but who knows how long they’ll last.”

”Yeah, I don’t think a relationship like that could ever last.”

”Exactly. And it’ll be pretty tragic for her once he dumps her.”

”And those idiots online are still rooting for Master Rockwell.”

Director Walsh looked up at the gossiping group in his office. ”I don’t want to hear this kind of talk again.”

The group, who had been in the middle of a heated discussion, immediately clammed up.

...

A few days passed, and while Melody Monroe was no longer a trending topic, the buzz around her hadn’t died down.

It was still unclear who her mysterious backer really was.

But other voices began to surface online.

”It’s all Melody Monroe news lately. Just an actress, but so much drama! Didn’t she just sell her body? Why make a big deal out of it like it’s something to be proud of? Why is this being reported over and over? Has the media run out of things to write about?”

”With all this sensationalist reporting, do you people even have a moral compass anymore? Aren’t you just promoting this kind of behavior? I already had a bad impression of Melody Monroe, and now it’s hit rock bottom. She’s just a celebrity, right? Is being a good actress something to brag about?”

”It’s just gossip, don’t take it so seriously. Life would be boring otherwise, wouldn’t it?”

”It seems like Melody Monroe hasn’t come out to clarify anything about this, which is a little irresponsible to her fans!”

”I heard filming has started for *Rise and Fall*, the major historical drama starring Melody Monroe. She’s turned down all her other engagements to focus on it. That’s pretty professional of her. At least she’s not like some celebrities who forget their actual job and just focus on raking in cash. To all the keyboard warriors and haters, give it a rest, will you? The whole ’sugar baby’ and ’sugar daddy’ thing is all just your own twisted fantasy, okay?”

”I think that regardless of whether Melody Monroe is involved with Master Rockwell or Evan Fairchild, it’s not a proper relationship. Isn’t that a bad influence on kids?”

”To the poster above: What do you mean, ’not a proper relationship’? Sounds like someone’s just jealous!”

Keith Coleman was keeping a close eye on the online reactions, worried that too much exposure would backfire.

Seeing these critical comments pop up, he could tell they weren’t from paid trolls, but from regular internet users.

As a public figure, one had to take all of it—the praise as well as the criticism.
