Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Seeing that Mrs. Hughes had finally quieted down, Keith Coleman turned to leave.

Christopher Sterling also left with Lana Sheffield. The recent fiasco had made him take note of Keith Coleman.

’Since when did Rose Shaw have an ex-boyfriend popping up?’

”Christopher, Melody Monroe has already left Stellaris, but Rose Shaw is still so close to her. Won’t that affect the company? Rose also sold that script she was holding onto to Melody for next to nothing. That’s a serious violation of company policy!”

”Who Rose Shaw is friends with in her private life is her own business. It won’t affect anything.”

”Why are you so lenient with Rose Shaw? She’s just an employee, one who’s just been with you a bit longer, that’s all!”

’Lenient with Rose?’

A ripple went through Christopher Sterling’s heart. Was what he felt for Rose Shaw truly just leniency? He couldn’t define the feeling himself.

Rose Shaw had been by his side for ten years.

He thought he knew Rose Shaw very well.

But now he was discovering he didn’t know her at all.

...

Melody Monroe and Rose Shaw arrived at the Golden Garden Community.

She knew Evan Fairchild had bought this apartment, so she hadn’t moved her things out. He had also bought the one across the hall, and she carried a key to it as well.

Auntie Lana came by regularly to clean, so the apartment was spotless.

”Rose, it’s for the best that you didn’t go through with the engagement. You made the right decision.”

”Having your support makes me feel much better.”

”You sit down for a bit. I’ll go boil some water.”

”Okay.”

Melody Monroe had just finished boiling the water when she heard a knock on the door. It was probably Winter Kane with Keith Coleman.

Rose Shaw quickly stood up to get the door.

Keith Coleman walked in.

Seeing him struggle, Rose Shaw helped him to the sofa. She was surprised Keith Coleman had arrived so quickly, as they had only just gotten there themselves.

’No wonder Melody wasn’t worried at all.’

”How did you get so badly injured?”

”I sparred with my boss.”

”Are you sure it was ’sparring’? And not just a one-sided beating?” Rose Shaw retorted.

Keith Coleman: ”...”

Melody Monroe brought the water over and steeped a pot of tea.

Rose Shaw looked at Keith Coleman’s miserable state and gently shook her head.

’What on earth did he do to piss off his boss so badly? To get a beating like that... Keith Coleman really has a knack for courting disaster!’

’Then again, Evan Fairchild is way too ruthless. Not just with outsiders, but with his own people... he’s even more vicious.’

”Rose, why don’t you stay here tonight?” Melody Monroe really didn’t want Rose Shaw to go back to her own home alone.

The decor in that house was just too depressing, and it felt cold and sterile.

Rose Shaw was also a bit tired, so she nodded. She didn’t want to go to any more trouble.

”Melody, should I have Talia Mercer book a hotel for me? I rushed to Rockwellburg this morning and haven’t arranged a place to stay yet.”

”How did you even get to Rockwellburg in your condition? Did you come alone?”

”I hired a car.”

”You’re this injured, and instead of resting up, you’re running all over the place? Why?” Rose Shaw really couldn’t understand. ’Isn’t Keith Coleman just a glutton for punishment?’

”To attend your engagement party. But it wasn’t a wasted trip, was it?” Keith Coleman asked with a smile.

”There’s no need to get a hotel, then. Why don’t you stay here?”

”Stay here?” A secret joy blossomed in Keith Coleman’s heart.

’Rose is staying here tonight, too, and Melody is telling me to stay here... Is she trying to create an opportunity for me?’

”The apartment across the hall is all set and ready.” Melody Monroe took out the key and handed it to Keith Coleman.
