Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

By all rights, it should have been difficult. So many years had passed, and she was working on this year’s new problem formats; there was no way she should be able to solve them so easily.

A hand suddenly reached over, pointing to a step on her scratch paper.

”Here,” Evan Fairchild reminded her.

Melody Monroe looked where his finger was pointing, and her eyes lit up.

She immediately picked up her pen and reworked the calculation. A few minutes later, she had solved the problem!

”I finally solved it! I was stuck on it for so long and tried so many different methods, but nothing worked. It turns out that was the part I got wrong! Mr. Fairchild, you’re incredible.” Melody Monroe stood up, looking at Evan Fairchild excitedly.

”Are there any others you can’t figure out?” Evan Fairchild sat down, preparing to tutor her personally.

Melody Monroe immediately pulled out all the problems she was stuck on.

Evan Fairchild took her hand, had her sit on his lap, and began to explain the problems to her.

Melody Monroe listened with rapt attention. ’Evan Fairchild’s explanations are so easy to understand,’ she thought. ’If my senior-year high school teacher had been like him, I could have scored at least a hundred more points on my exams!’

An hour had passed by the time he finished explaining those few problems.

Melody Monroe practiced a few more, finally conquering the difficult ones. She lifted her arms for a long stretch and leaned back into Evan Fairchild’s embrace.

”From now on, when I don’t understand something, can you teach me?”

”I’m very busy. I’m afraid I can’t spare that much time.”

”How can you be that busy? Besides, it won’t take up much time. Can’t I just work around your schedule? I’ll come find you whenever you’re free.”

”I’ll still have to think about it.” Evan Fairchild still hadn’t agreed.

Melody Monroe could tell he was doing this on purpose.

”So what will it take for you to make up your mind?”

”That depends on your performance.”

Melody Monroe leaned over and gave him a peck on the lips. ”Like this?”

”What is our relationship?”

”We’re husband and wife.”

”What am I to you?”

”My husband.”

”So what should you call me from now on?”

”Husband, please just spare a little time to teach me, won’t you?” Melody Monroe wrapped her arms around his neck and wheedled, ”Please? Pretty please? Pleeeease?”

Evan Fairchild thoroughly enjoyed her soft, sweet whispers and this new form of address.

This was the first time she had ever called him ”husband.”

”Alright. Clean up, and let’s go eat first. After we eat, I’ll help you with your exercises for a while longer.”

”Okay! Thank you, husband.” Melody Monroe’s words had turned sweet. ’There were so many benefits to calling him husband!’

Evan Fairchild suddenly scooped her up and set her on the desk.

”Aren’t we going to eat?”

”Right. We’ll go eat, and you can do your exercises by yourself later.”

Melody Monroe: ...

”You choose. In a little while, will you be doing them alone, or will I be doing them with you?”

”You with me, of course.”

”Good girl.”

...

Ian Monroe sat at the dining table, looking toward the staircase from time to time. ’What’s taking so long? Why haven’t those two come down yet?’

’Don’t they always lecture me about being punctual, about how there’s a time and place for everything? How you not only need a plan but also have to stick to it strictly?’

’That’s called self-control.’

’Mr. Fairchild is so full of principles when he talks about it. Now I get it. Maybe that ”self-control” stuff is just meant for me!’

”Bunny, are you hungry? Here, you can eat first.” Ian Monroe pushed Bunny’s food over to it.

Bunny huffed, lowered its head, and started gobbling down its food.

”Master Hale, the Master and Madam will probably be a while longer. Why don’t you eat first?”

”Okay.” Ian Monroe nodded.
