Emperor’s Domination

“What a shame regarding Orchid Sage.” Violet Dragon let out a sigh.

Orchid Sage refused the offer and proposed Luminous Master instead, the best candidate besides him.

“Why did he refuse, was it just a lack of ambition?” She wondered.

“Only he knew the answer.” Li Xuansu said: “If he wanted a simple life, he wouldn’t have started Orchid Academy. It was not a matter of prestige, he just wanted to contribute to this world and leave useful things behind.”

“If that’s the case, he should have become a supreme overlord.” Violet Dragon said. A supreme overlord could have left even more useful resources and legacies.

“Everyone tried to convince him otherwise but he insisted.” Li Xuansu said.

“Cause and effect, they are responsible for their choices.” Li Qiye remarked.

“We probably will never know the answer since Gao Yang and the others are no longer in this world.” Xuansu lamented.

“Have you ever thought that there was something more to this, that outside of their own mistakes, someone had dug a pit to eliminate them all at once?” Li Qiye said.

“All at once. But who?” Violet Dragon took a deep breath.

Li Qiye stared at Li Xuansu who didn’t have a response at first.

Eventually, she smiled wryly and shook her head: “I don’t have a good guess due to the chaotic nature of that period. Bodhi Ancestor failed his ascension after Heavenslay, which greatly added to our pressure. Moreover, many dao protectors fell in battle during Immortal Ascension Battle. Thus, Gao Yang and the others felt the need to do something spectacular for morale’s sake.”

“What about Desolate Ancestor and Lord of Life and Death?” Violet Dragon asked.

“Lord of Life and Death’s situation was unique. This was right after Immortal Ascension and wounded survivors needed time for recuperation. She could not leave.” Li Xuansu said: “As for Desolate Ancestor...”

“Go on, wasn’t it a good time for a counterattack?” Violet Dragon said softly.

Dingtian was taken down after Heavenslay so it should have been the perfect time to wipe out his followers.

“She was preoccupied with finding someone.” Li Xuansu said.

“Who could elude her given her cultivation?” Violet Dragon asked.

However, there was only one possibility so she blurted: “A different immortal.”

“I’m unsure of the details.” Li Xuansu smiled wryly and said: “Desolate Ancestor searched all of Three Immortals but from what I know, she didn’t find this person.”

“Hmm, another immortal...” Violet Dragon murmured.

“In theory, there shouldn’t have been one but Desolate Ancestor knew more than we do. She certainly had her reasons, so there was an unknown one.” Li Xuansu said.

As far as they knew, Heavenly Sin fell in battle. Three went missing. Only Evil Transformation and Fiendish Ground were around.

The three immortals were ambushed and taken down during Immortals Slaughtered.

Two new immortals ascended, Zhan Sansheng and Desolate Ancestor. Thus, the existence of another one would shock the world.

“Who is the most likely candidate right now?” Violet Dragon asked since Li Xuansu knew more about the strongest cultivators.

“Well...” Li Xuansu hesitated.

“Looks like you have someone on your mind.” Li Qiye chuckled.

“Sir, I’m certain you know more than I do, I just lack evidence.” She sighed: “Perhaps the answer is buried in a grave now. There will be no answer.”

“Is that so? Why do you think the person is dead? What if it’s not the case?” Li Qiye said.

“!” Li Xuansu took a deep breath and stared at Li Qiye in astonishment.

“Do you think an immortal could die that easily?” Li Qiye smiled.

“No.” She blurted.

“Then there you go.” Li Qiye shrugged.

“But without evidence and if the person is actually dead, we would be besmirching their reputation, this affects others too.” She paused for a moment before answering.

“Let’s not talk about other matters. Let me tell you something, there was another person who tagged along outside of the ancient progenitors.” Li Qiye revealed.

“Who is it?” Li Xuansu had a bad feeling about this.

“Who gave Gao Yang information and led the way?” Li Qiye asked.

“Luminous Master.” Violet Dragon interjected.

“Primal Yin Immortal Ghost.” Li Xuansu said at the same time.

“Who knows which identity was used?” Li Qiye shrugged.

“Did Luminous Master want to take everyone down from the start?” Li Xuansu murmured.

“Why? There had to be a reason.” Violet Dragon said.

After all, Gao Yang adored Luminous Master and treated him more than well. Furthermore, there didn’t seem to be a logical reason for him to betray them.

“Should be a transaction, but with whom?” Li Qiye smiled.

“What if Evil Transformation and Fiendish Ground controlled him?” Li Xuansu said.

“I think that’s rather plausible.” Violet Dragon agreed: “If not a full possession, he should have been greatly influenced.”

“Why did those two want to kill Gao Yang’s group? Did these ancient progenitors have something they coveted?” Li Qiye smiled.
