Emperor’s Domination

”What should we do then?” Princess Chen asked.

”It would be nice if we could bring this leaf back.” Mu Hu salivated while gazing at the green continent.

”Haha, bring it back? If you somehow have the ability to cut it down and bring it back, your Desolate Ancestor will also chop down your head.” The monarch laughed.

”Why?” Mu Hu didn’t understand.

”Are you still pretending to be an idiot? This is the resting place of Bodhi Ancestor.” The monarch said with a disdainful glance.

”What?!” The youths blurted in astonishment.

”D-did you say this is... Bod-dhi Ancestor’s resting place?” The princess stammered and looked around, not seeing a tomb.

”Where?” Li Xian didn’t find anything resembling a grave.

”Hah, you’re walking on his corpse right now.” The monarch was rather amused.

”!” The group jolted from this revelation and immediately looked down.

”You’re...” Princess Chen stared at him and stammered: ”You’re saying the burnt tree... is Bodhi Ancestor?”

”Amitabha.” Monk Zhu came up with the same answer and placed his palms together.

”Not too stupid, haha.” The monarch laughed: ”I told you Bodhi Ancestor was buried here. Now do you believe me?”

”Is this true?” Li Xian looked around and only saw massive branches in the sky, burnt to a charcoal texture.

”I’m afraid so. Bodhi Ancestor must have failed the ascension.” Orchidcore said in a daze.

The group finally understood why there was a tree in the abyss. It was none other than Bodhi Ancestor.

”A tree demon, right?” Princess Chen murmured.

”Yes, and being able to see his corpse is fate and fortune for all of you.” Black Witch Monarch laughed.

The group had a hard time accepting. Bodhi Ancestor was one of the strongest supreme overlords. Rumor has it that he tried to ascend to the next level but failed. People believed he was buried in Life and Death Heaven due to their close relationship.

However, the location and form of his passing took them by surprise. Nevertheless, everything finally made sense.

The tribulation flames persisted after eras. Its heat could obliterate cultivators, including emperors and primal ancestors

”What about this leaf?” Princess Chen calmed down and asked.

”A leaf growing on a burnt tree. Does this mean Bodhi Ancestor will reincarnate and live again?” Monk Zhu asked.

”Don’t impose your belief on someone’s body, Bodhi Ancestor wouldn’t have appreciated it.” The monarch said.

Monk Zhu had no response since Bodhi Ancstor was someone who could look down on his Lankavatara Temple.

”If it’s not reincarnation, it can still be rebirth?” Orchidcore said.

”Maybe, if there is one, there might be a second, third, and on and on until the tree is full of them. Isn’t that the same as living again?” Princess Chen responded.

”This is just the final radiance of a setting sun.” Li Qiye shook his head and said: ”The first doesn’t imply the second, only the embodiment of one’s faith in life. It can’t handle the flames, only a matter of time.”

”I see...” The princess and her friends became sad since they respected the great Bodhi Ancestor.

”This is a tribulation, and a frightening one at that.” The monarch had a solemn expression for once.

”Becoming an immortal or a pseudo-one isn’t that easy.” Li Qiye said: ”Three Immortals have all the right circumstances but it’s not enough.”

”How many are fortunate enough? But well, being a person is good enough, just enjoy life as it is, no need to become an immortal.” The monarch said.

”Are you consoling or encouraging yourself?” Li Qiye said.

”Hah, Young Noble, I think it’s nice enough to be alive. I’m not ambitious enough to think about lofty heights.” The monarch laughed.

”But didn’t you claim to be one-and-only or something?” Li Qiye said.

”Just nonsensical stuff, that’s all, don’t take me seriously.” The monarch said.

”You said it more than once. Actually, whenever you opened your mouth.” The princess interjected.

”Forget it, you’re just a child, what do you know?” He waved his hand dismissively.

”It’s your business, but...” Li Qiye stretched it out before finishing: ”In my opinion, Black Bull will continue and might become an immortal.”

”Bah.” The monarch became agitated and said: ”Bullshit, him and his terrible personality, an immortal? He is hopeless compared to me, I’ll be the first.”

”Black Bull?” Mu Hu asked.

”You, an immortal?” The princess focused on the monarch.

”Child, if that inferior piece of crap can become immortal, then I’ll be a true immortal.” The monarch said haughtily.

”You two are pretty much the same.” Li Qiye shook his head.

”Haha, Young Noble, you can’t put it like that. My roots and everything else are just better. Plus, if you guide me more on this path, I’ll ascend sooner.”
