I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2077: 24.338 Sixth Violet Star - Anxiety

Borderland

After the celebration of their first win with Long Juedi and his friends, every people in the borders were pumped up with such happiness. A win without death is the first time for them to achieve. After a night of celebration everyone had returned to their usual self. Doing their everyday tasks, training, farming, Everything had returned to normal.

Of course, there are new things as well. Like the recruitment to add more people in Long Juedi’s group. This time they are looking for people who excel in weapons and have enhanced their speed and can use element spells that focus on control over fire and ice. It would be better if they are capable of slicing beings into the smallest shape until none of them are left. Long Juedi and Haerin wanted to find experts to dismember the beasts who would attack them. They would possess troll-like regeneration and continuous wounding would exhaust their ability to heal. It was for this reason that the current people who will be welcomed for recruits are those who can achieve such a goal.

The plan for the next beast wave is simple. Dismember the beast, then burn it to ashes. This is the only way to defeat a troll with high healing capabilities. While the recruiting is ongoing, the two commanders were all training normal soldiers and increasing their survival rate. They are personally training them to gain proper instinct to avoid danger. At the very least this would lessen the death count in each beast wave.

Everyone is busy doing what they can to protect the borders. They must never allow the beast race to cross the wall and enter their lands as that would mean their defeat and that the possibility of losing their fertile lands to the beast race is the worst case scenario.

On the other hand, at the ruined alliance city...

A short peace was suddenly being experienced by the beings of the ancient forest. At this moment, all of the living had moved to the ancient forest. The former big and luster in the green forest has lost half of its beauty. A half of the ancient forest after the human race had invaded is now ruined. There are some bald spots within the outer region of the forest and some traces of burns, destruction. The ancient forest was no longer the same as before.

Only the core region of the ancient forest remained the same and is now completely covered by a new barrier created by the spirit race. Though this barrier cannot be compared to the ones created by the God of Destruction, since a god made it, it should be able to keep them safe even for a while. However, despite this short peace no one else is lowering their guard down. They continue to train, prepare their escape routes and most of those who cannot fight started migrating towards the borders.

This is their last route to safety but it was planned that all of the warriors will remain. They will defend this piece of land, their homes and buy some time for their loved ones even in exchange for their death. Only a few knew that the Lord Prophet had seen another sight of the future. He had discerned that the Divine Realm would descend and lend them help to kill the human marshal, Gu Ying. It’s just that the exact day and time they would come is unknown. But just this future sight alone made all the warriors stay and fight for the possibility of the future that they will win in the end.

Lord Heri was trying to find a way to see more about the future. But with his mortal body, trying to see through the secret of the heavens would wear him down. It didn’t take it long for him to be bedridden. After all, they were incapable of stopping the Lord Prophet for trying to find a path of survival in many possible futures within his reach.

Outside the tent, the Lord Guardian, Vega had just received a report from one of the warriors.

”Lord Guardian, most of the children and the women had packed and started migrating to a place somewhere else. But according to the scouts the underground routes are not safe. They had found monsters living underground.”

”Monsters underground? What kind of monster is it?” The Lord Guardian Vega asked.

The messenger said, ”According to the survivors, the monster had the shape of the beast but it seems to be extremely famished and every time it saw the living, it would do its best to chase after them until they were caught. Only by killing it would they be freed from its pursuit.”

”Moreover, the others said that these monsters seem to be some kind of experimental subjects from a failed project of something and just disposed of them underground as if they knew that there is a path underneath the earth.”

”Experimental subjects? You didn’t find any children’s bodies underground?” Lord Guardian asked.

Confused. The messenger still answered, ”There were no corpses of children found.”

Sigh~

”If the underground is not possible, use the land above. Now that the human race was no longer under the control of the human marshal, the danger in the land should have been lessened. However, you cannot ignore the possibilities of undead merging with lots of corpses in the area. Send people to escort the children and women for safety,” said the Lord Guardian. ”Also be vigilant, this peace will not last much longer.”

”...Yes! Lord Guardian!” The warrior said before taking his leave to share to others about the new content of their tasks.

After the messenger had taken his leave, the Lord Guardian entered the tent. Inside the tent, his mate, the Lord Prophet who was trying to use his ability to peek in the future had just puke blood.

Blergh!

Seeing this the Lord Guardian panicked and hurriedly went to where the Lord Prophet was and supported him.

”He’er!”

Looking pale and weakened, despite feeling his body healing, Lord Heri feels lethargic. With the support of the Lord Guardian, he leans on him and wipes the blood on his lips.

”I cannot use my ability at this moment. Maybe because the Marshal was pulled into the realm of dreams and my ability is temporarily shut off,” said the Lord Prophet. ”However, this also means that he is still stuck in that realm which is good news. How is the migration doing?”

”It’s going well. Don’t worry. Even though the underground routes seem to have some problems, the original path should be alright,” said the former elf king.

Lord Prophet Heri heard that the underground is dangerous and remembered that their daughter was among the children who took that path and his face turned white from worry.

”T-Then Haerin... How about our daughter?” Lord Prophet Heri asked anxiously.

The former elf king said, ”Don’t worry. No corpse was found, not even a bone. She and everyone else should have arrived at the borders safely. I will have some people check at the borders as well.”

”I wish. My body was not like this. I would like to fight together with you and not just wait at the rear for news. I feel like a burden with this kind of body. I wish I was born strong like my big brother,” said Heri as tears stroll down his face.

The Lord Guardian felt bad for this wife. However, this is something that wasn’t in their control. According to his brother-in-law, the reason why Heri is born weak was due to his special ability which is future premonition. If this ability is given to a god or at least a demigod then he wouldn’t have to suffer like this. Unfortunately, both of them were born mortals and Heri was born with a weak body. Because of this ability, he is greatly affected as well.

”Please don’t cry. Don’t blame yourself. The reason we are still alive to this point is because of your ability. If you didn’t warn us of danger we would have long been defeated and this place would be ruined like the alliance city,” said the Lord Guardian Vega.

Lord Prophet Heri said, ”Despite that I still cannot save everyone. I failed to foresee the destruction of the alliance city and I couldn’t even see anything right now.”

”He’er you aren’t a god. There is no way to foresee everything in an ever changing future. Just one catalyst can change how the future will unfold. It was your choice which is the most important. Don’t blame yourself please. It would make it as if the souls you have saved with your ability are a curse to you. You also saved me and I don’t want to become your burden.”

”No. No! That’s not true! You are never a burden. Never been and never have. You are my love, my family, my life. I will never see you as someone like that!” Lord Heri said.

Lord Vega said, ”Then don’t blame yourself anymore. For me as long as you are alive, by my side. It’s my greatest happiness. Don’t worry. We will survive and see our daughter again.”

”Um! I also believe we will survive,” said the Lord Prophet.
