The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 259: Chapter 261 【261】Falling Out with Liang Shaochen 2

When Liang Shaochen saw her, he couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment;

His attention wasn’t on the phone she was holding at all. Hearing her say this, he unnaturally shifted his gaze and spoke instinctively, ”It’s okay.”

He squatted down to tidy up his pillow on the floor, then seemed to realize something, looked up at her blankly, and said, ”Oh, there seems to be no signal here...”

Xia Xiaonuan’s face darkened a bit.

His reaction was too slow!

However, Liang Shaochen’s next words made her expression change slightly.

”Are you worried the Crown Prince won’t be able to find you and will get anxious?”

”No... it’s not that!”

Liang Shaochen stared at her for a few seconds, seeming to want to ask something, but ultimately did not speak.

After a moment, he said, ”For now, it’s all we can do. Let’s rest early tonight, and we’ll try to head back as early as possible tomorrow.”

Xia Xiaonuan nodded, her heart pounding heavily.

She hadn’t expected today’s situation at all; everything felt as unreal as a dream.

She instinctively pulled his suit jacket over her chest, then felt that holding someone else’s clothes like a treasure was a bit too obsessively fond.

So she raised the jacket and said, ”Thank you for the coat...”

Liang Shaochen smiled as he took the coat from her hand, trying hard not to let his gaze fall on her, and said, ”It’s okay.”

Xia Xiaonuan shrank under the sheets, her black and white eyes widened as she watched Liang Shaochen hang the coat on the rack. When Liang Shaochen turned around, she quickly looked away.

Liang Shaochen keenly noticed Xia Xiaonuan’s gaze; something flashed in his eyes, then he sat down on the floor alone.

”Actually... the Crown Prince is a good person, he can just be a bit domineering at times, but that part is quite attractive to girls.”

”...” Xia Xiaonuan frowned, was he trying to be a mediator for the two of them?

”After all, he is the heir to the Imperial Consortium, so it’s inevitable that there are other girls around him. He’s used to being doted on by women. So, I hope... you can be more tolerant.”

”...” Xia Xiaonuan’s nose felt a sudden sourness, she raised her face slightly to let the sudden tears flow down her cheeks.

”Xiaonuan, you are a good girl, I hope... you can live well with the Crown Prince.”

”...”

Was this comfort, or rejection?

Xia Xiaonuan tightly gripped the sheet in front of her chest, not saying a word.

Liang Shaochen turned to look at her. Seeing Xia Xiaonuan’s expression, a trace of reluctance crossed his brow.

But he continued, ”I think Ling really cares about you, he...”

”Enough...”

”Xiaonuan...”

”I said enough—!” Xia Xiaonuan suddenly raised her eyes and shouted at Liang Shaochen.

Liang Shaochen’s expression froze.

Xia Xiaonuan looked at the man’s handsome face, seeing care in his eyes, or perhaps something else she couldn’t understand.

And she didn’t want to understand anymore, didn’t want to face him.

Xia Xiaonuan turned around, her back to Liang Shaochen.

In an instant, she couldn’t understand her own feelings.

Liang Shaochen’s hand clenched slightly, his knuckles turning white.

He felt extreme remorse.

Perhaps, he shouldn’t have said those words at this moment! And definitely not tonight, under these circumstances.

He never intended to hurt her.

Watching the small, shivering figure under the blanket, hearing Xia Xiaonuan’s low, restrained sobs.

He felt an intense pain in his chest.
