The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 256: Chapter 258: Trapped with Mr. Liang 4

The woman looked at Xia Xiaonuan, who was wearing men’s clothing, with a men’s shirt inside. Although it was wrapped tightly, a hickey on her neck was faintly visible.

Wearing an oversized men’s suit on her, coupled with her somewhat disheveled hair, it was obvious what had happened earlier.

The woman was slightly stunned for a moment, then gave the two of them a knowing smile. Young people these days were really becoming more open, running up the mountain to do such things... only to be driven back by the rain...

Xia Xiaonuan looked a bit embarrassed as she smiled and greeted the woman with broken English.

The woman found two pairs of slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them in front of the two, speaking in imperfect Chinese: ”You can call me Mrs. Smith.”

The two of them looked at each other in surprise.

Liang Shaochen: ”You can speak Chinese?”

Mrs. Smith smiled and said:

”A few years ago, didn’t someone from that NG Group buy this island to make it a resort?

Since then, more Chinese people started coming here. I taught myself a bit, and my son taught me when he came back, so I learned a little.”

”You’re amazing, thank you so much,” Xia Xiaonuan said gratefully as she put on the slippers.

Mrs. Smith continued: ”My husband passed away early, and my son went abroad a while ago, so it’s just me here. There happens to be a vacant room inside, if you don’t mind, you can make do for the night.”

The two of them were stunned at the same time, and Xia Xiaonuan glanced awkwardly at Liang Shaochen.

Liang Shaochen also felt a bit unnatural and asked, ”Mrs. Smith, is there... only one room?”

Mrs. Smith was stunned by the question. These two weren’t...

Could it be that this young couple had a fight?

She glanced at Liang Shaochen and Xia Xiaonuan. Except for the girl’s ill-fitting clothes, the two really looked like a good match.

Mrs. Smith thought for a moment, then suddenly put her hands on her hips and exaggeratedly yelled at Liang Shaochen: ”What? Do you want this old woman to give up her room for you? Or do you plan to squeeze in with me!?”

Liang Shaochen smiled bitterly: ”You misunderstood, that’s not what I meant...”

Xia Xiaonuan: ...

She couldn’t help but smile, her lips curving upwards.

It was the first time today that Liang Shaochen had seen her smile, and it made his mood better as well.

Looking at the humorous Mrs. Smith in front of him, he smiled and said, ”Well... please. Don’t worry, we won’t stay for free.”

Mrs. Smith waved her hand, walking inside while pointing to a door in the room: ”That’s the bathroom and shower. I think this young lady might need to take a bath.”

As she spoke, she opened the door to a bedroom in the corner and turned on the light switch with a ”click”:

”You can stay here tonight. Oh, by the way... I might snore when I sleep, so you’d better keep the door closed tightly. Otherwise, if it bothers you, don’t blame me...”

Xia Xiaonuan was filled with anxiety. Was she really going to share a room with Liang Shaochen tonight?

However, under these circumstances, there probably wasn’t any other choice.

Liang Shaochen looked down at her: ”You should take a hot shower first to warm yourself up.”

Xia Xiaonuan nervously picked at her nails and nodded: ”Alright...”
