My Home's Ancient Well Connects to the Martial Arts World

Chapter 246 -242: Quietly Reading a Novel in a Corner

“Go, Coach Fang Bin! Knock all his teeth out!”

Frank was also shouting along with the crowd from Changsheng Martial Arts Hall, cheering on Coach Fang Bin. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder from behind and immediately turned to look.

“Mr. Ye Xing, you’re here!” Frank’s face was still flushed with excitement; he was clearly engrossed in the match in the ring.

“Yeah, I’ve already booked the tickets to America. Let’s go,” Ye Xing said.

“Go now?” Frank was taken aback. “The fight on stage is getting good. Aren’t you going to watch?”

“It’s incredibly boring. Nothing worth watching,” Ye Xing said flatly.

With Ye Xing’s current strength at the Peak of the Martial Arts Ninth Layer, watching a match of this level was like an adult watching two toddlers fight. If there was any fight that could capture his interest, it would have to be a battle between those at the Innate Realm on the Martial Arts Continent.

“No way, I still want to watch! It’s such an exciting match!” Frank quickly asked, “Mr. Ye Xing, when is our flight? Do we have time to leave after the match is over?”

Ye Xing rolled his eyes helplessly but nodded. “Fine. But we have to leave in fifteen minutes, max.”

“Great! Fifteen minutes should be enough!” Frank immediately went back to watching the match. As he watched, he asked, “By the way, Mr. Ye Xing, who do you think will win? Coach Fang Bin or that Karate dojo’s master, Yieh Hanjian?”

Ye Xing glanced at the stage, giving it a cursory look before saying flatly, “Either one of them could win. It’s seventy percent skill and thirty percent luck. It all depends on how they perform under pressure.” After speaking, Ye Xing simply took out his phone, found a seat nearby, and started scrolling through a novel.

To Ye Xing, watching those two children fight on stage was less interesting than reading a novel.

‘My will to live is fading. Why do the few novels I like update so slowly? It’s been days, and there’s only a stockpile of seven or eight chapters. Seven or eight chapters… I can probably burn through those in about ten minutes.’ Ye Xing sighed melancholically, tapping his phone screen. He became engrossed in his novel amidst the noisy crowd.

BANG! BANG BANG BANG!

On the stage, the fight between Fang Bin and Yieh Hanjian had reached a fever pitch. Both men were drenched in sweat, trading fists and kicks in a fierce exchange. After another dozen moves or so, a glint appeared in Yieh Hanjian’s eyes. He deliberately exposed an opening. Fang Bin, failing to notice the trap, was thrown to the ground by Yieh Hanjian, who then pinned him by the throat. The match was over.

The venue fell silent for a moment. Everyone from Changsheng Martial Arts Hall looked disappointed, their morale crushed. In contrast, the people from the Karate Dojo looked smug and arrogant.

“Hey, our Karate Dojo won!”

“Mr. Yamamoto, Master Yieh is victorious!”

“Mm, Junior Brother Yieh’s Karate cultivation is acceptable. More than enough to crush one of their head coaches.” Down below, Yamamoto Fumitake nodded and said indifferently, “One only needs to grasp a fraction of the Karate from our Great RB Empire to run amok in a place like Luoxian County.”

On the fighting ring, Fang Bin clutched his injured arm and pushed himself up from the floor, walking off the stage in very low spirits.

“Haha, Coach Fang Bin, thank you for the match!” The Karate Dojo master, Yieh Hanjian, cupped his fists toward the many students below the stage and laughed heartily. “You all saw the match just now. In the end, my Karate proved to be a cut above. If any of you are interested in Karate, you’re welcome to come to my Karate Dojo!”

As Yieh Hanjian spoke, the expressions of all the coaches from Changsheng Martial Arts Hall changed. This was blatant poaching.

“Yieh Hanjian, don’t get too cocky!”

“Exactly! You only dare to throw your weight around when our Master is away. What a petty little man!”

The coaches of Changsheng Martial Arts Hall roared in anger.

“Hmph, Wu Qiang is pretty strong, but he’s no match for my senior brother. When he saw my senior brother, Yamamoto Fumitake, come to issue a challenge, he must have scurried off to hide somewhere.” Yieh Hanjian snorted coldly and shouted, “If there’s anyone else who’s not convinced, feel free to come up and have a go with me!”

The coaches of Changsheng Martial Arts Hall looked at each other, furious. This Yieh Hanjian was the master of the Karate Dojo, yet he was so shameless. He’d just been thrashed by their Master two days ago, and now that their Master wasn’t here, he was acting all high and mighty. It was a classic case of “when the cat’s away, the mice will play.” They all wanted to go up and teach him a harsh lesson, but they could only give up the idea, knowing their own strength was lacking.

“Hey, look over there! Isn’t that the Great Hero Ye Xing?!”

One of the Changsheng Martial Arts Hall coaches suddenly exclaimed, his eyes fixed on a corner of the hall.

Everyone was startled and quickly turned to follow the coach’s gaze.

There, on the stone steps in a corner of the hall, a young man was engrossed in a novel on his phone. He was reading with such focus and absorption that he seemed completely oblivious to the surrounding noise and chaos.

“Haha, it really is the Great Hero Ye Xing! The Great Hero Ye Xing hasn’t been to our Changsheng Martial Arts Hall in a long time!”

“This is great! The Great Hero Ye Xing is actually here!”

The people from Changsheng Martial Arts Hall were ecstatic, overcome with excitement as they rushed over in his direction. During the match, everyone’s attention had been focused on the fierce fight in the ring, and Ye Xing had arrived quietly and without a sound, so no one had noticed him before. Now, after the sharp-eyed coach’s shout, everyone immediately saw the young man in the corner of the hall.

He was a very young man, around twenty-three or twenty-four, with a handsome face that was quite charming. He looked like a recent college graduate, dressed in clean, cheap clothes—black jeans and a white shirt—an entire outfit that probably cost only a few hundred yuan. The phone in his hand wasn’t an expensive Apple, nor was it a Samsung, but a domestic Huawei phone worth around a thousand yuan.

And yet, at this moment, the gazes of almost everyone in the hall were fixed squarely on this ordinary-looking young man. The veterans of the hall who knew him were overjoyed and thrilled, while the new students who didn’t were baffled.

“Coach Wu, what’s this about a ‘Great Hero Ye Xing’? Who is he?”

“Yeah, why are all the coaches getting so worked up?”

Many of the martial arts hall students asked, their voices full of curiosity and confusion.

“What do you little brats know? The Great Hero Ye Xing is a true master of National Martial Arts! If he were to step up, he could toss that Yieh Hanjian off the stage with just one hand!”

“He can beat the Karate dojo master with one hand? No way, is he that strong?”

“He looks so ordinary, though! So young, and he doesn’t even have any noticeable muscles!”

“You’ve got to be exaggerating, Coach. The other day, it took Master Wu Qiang over twenty moves to beat Yieh Hanjian! If that young man can beat him with just one hand, wouldn’t that make him even stronger than Master Wu Qiang?”

“Heh, Master Wu Qiang’s Longevity Fist was taught to him by the Great Hero Ye Xing. So, you tell me, who’s stronger?”
