My Home's Ancient Well Connects to the Martial Arts World

Chapter 205: Chapter 202: Intercepted at the Entrance

”Erk!”

Looking at his mother, who was chattering away excitedly and peppering him with questions, Ye Xing was at a loss for words.

”Uh, well... I can’t just yet. In a little while. I’ll bring her home in a little while!” Ye Xing said with a dry laugh.

”A little while? How long is that?” Lin Yufang asked suspiciously. ”Axing, are you lying? Are you just trying to get out of the blind date by telling your father and me that you have a girlfriend?”

”No, I’m telling the truth. It’s just that she’s not in Luoxian County right now, so it’ll take some time,” Ye Xing said quickly. ’I’ll get through this first and worry about the rest later.’

”Hmph. It’s best you’re not lying!”

”Right, Mom, so does that mean I don’t have to go—”

”No. We’ve already made the arrangement. We can’t go back on our word. Besides, you’re a grown man, what do you have to lose? Are you afraid she’s going to eat you alive? Once you meet her, you can compare. What if she’s better and more suitable for you than your current girlfriend? You know your younger cousin Axiang has already had several girlfriends! You blockhead, when will you ever get it?” Lin Yufang said.

Ye Xing rolled his eyes, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. ’Leave it to my own mother... She makes so much sense I’m actually speechless.’

At his mother’s insistence, Ye Xing had no choice but to wash his face and head out. His parents wanted to go with him, but he flatly refused. ’Are you kidding me? I’m going to tell that girl the truth. What are you two going to do, make things more complicated?’

CREAK! BANG!

Ye Xing closed the door, pressed the elevator button, and soon arrived at the first-floor entrance.

Just as he stepped out of the building’s main entrance, Ye Xing froze. His gaze shifted, and he looked straight ahead.

A tall, burly man was blocking the center of the doorway, a cold sneer on his face as he stared at Ye Xing, his eyes glinting with menace.

”Finally came out, did you? You’ve got some balls, kid. Reporting me to building management... Are-you-fucking-tired-of-living?!” The burly man stomped menacingly toward Ye Xing, his large hand reaching directly for his collar.

Ye Xing took a step back, swiftly avoiding the man’s grasp.

”You were dumping trash illegally and disturbing the other residents. So what if I reported you?” A cold smile touched the corner of Ye Xing’s mouth. ”What, you got a problem with that? You want to start something?”

”So what if I do? This is for sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong! I’m gonna beat the shit out of you!” the burly man roared, lunging forward and throwing a punch right at Ye Xing’s face.

The punch whistled through the air with considerable force. If it had landed on an ordinary person, they would have almost certainly been left with a bruised and swollen face.

In Ye Xing’s eyes, however, the man’s fist was slower than a three-year-old’s. It posed no threat at all. With a slight turn of his body, he dodged it effortlessly.

”Fall,” Ye Xing said coolly, spitting out the single word. He lifted his right foot and lightly tripped the man.

The next moment—

THUD!

The big man stumbled and instantly pitched forward onto the ground. His own momentum sent him crashing down, his mouth slamming hard against the granite pavement.

SMACK! ”AHH!”

A scream like a stuck pig echoed out. The man had knocked out two of his front teeth on impact. Blood covered his mouth, and more seeped from his gums around the broken stumps. The pain made him gasp, and his forehead was beaded with cold sweat.

”You damn kid! I’m gonna kill you!”

The big man scrambled to his feet, his face twisted with either pain or rage. He charged again, aiming a vicious punch straight at Ye Xing’s nose.

BAM!

With a dull thud, the previous scene repeated itself. The man’s fist didn’t even touch Ye Xing. Instead, he was tripped again, falling heavily to the ground. He grimaced in pain, his mouth full of blood.

Throughout it all, Ye Xing had barely moved. His hands remained tucked in his pockets, and a hint of amusement played in his eyes as he calmly watched the man sprawled on the ground.

The commotion immediately attracted the community’s security guard.

”What’s going on? What happened here? A fight?” The security guard hurried over, shouting sternly.

”Oh, officer, you misunderstand. There’s no fighting here. This gentleman just accidentally fell down,” Ye Xing said, shaking his head and sighing. ”Tsk, tsk. A grown man, tripping over his own feet. Look, he even knocked out two of his front teeth...”

The big man got up again. His eyes, filled with rage, were now also tinged with confusion and fear as he stared at Ye Xing, uncertain. He wanted to charge again but hesitated, not daring to move forward. Being tripped once could be an accident, but being tripped twice in a row by this young man was just plain weird. Combined with the non-stop bleeding and the stinging pain in his mouth, even though he was burning with hatred, he didn’t dare rush Ye Xing again. He was afraid of being tripped a third time.

”Kid, you’ve got thome ballth... You jusht wait, you’re dead! I won’t let you get away with thith!” The man’s words were slurred from his missing front teeth. He glared at Ye Xing with pure hatred, pointing a finger at him while clutching his bleeding mouth. After spitting out his threat, he quickly ran out of the complex.

”Young man, how did you get on the wrong side of Bao Dachang?” The security guard, having gotten the gist of the situation, said with concern, ”That Bao Dachang is bad news. You’re going to be in trouble.”

”The guy has no class. He was dumping trash from his high-rise apartment, so I called building management to report him. That’s how this whole thing started.” After a pause, Ye Xing asked, ”Why? Is he someone powerful?”

”Yes, he works for the Junhao Nightclub. He definitely knows a lot of thugs there. If he calls his friends, getting beaten up would be the least of your worries. I mean, we live in a society with laws, so they won’t go too far—they probably won’t kill you. But a wise man doesn’t fight a losing battle. I suggest you stay away from Ice Sea for a while. Go somewhere else and lay low. Otherwise, you’ll probably end up in a hospital bed,” the security guard urged.

”Haha, thank you for the warning, sir, but I don’t think it’ll come to a hospital bed. Huh? Wait, did you just say he’s from the Junhao Nightclub?”

Ye Xing froze for a moment, a strange look in his eyes.

”That’s right, the Junhao Nightclub. They’re backed by the triads. I heard their boss runs a martial arts school, too. They’re really bad news,” the security guard said. ”Young man, you should get out of here. The Junhao Nightclub is near Ice Sea. It won’t take long for Bao Dachang to call for backup.”

”Heh, so he’s one of Wu Qiang’s guys. Junhao Nightclub... Now this is getting interesting!” A playful smile appeared on Ye Xing’s lips as he walked straight out of the complex, heading in the direction of the Dior Cafe.
