Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Xia Qingqian didn’t say anything more in the end, but before Beitang Huan left, she begged her not to tell Beitang Yao about today’s events, and Beitang Huan agreed.

After Beitang Huan left, Xia Qingqian lay on the bed and fell asleep after thinking for a while. She slept quite deeply. Even when Beitang Yao stood by her bedside for a long time, she didn’t notice. She just mumbled a few sounds and continued to sleep.

But it was Beitang Yao who suffered. He stood there, staring dazedly at the sleeping Xia Qingqian, feeling a mix of emotions and a sense of unease. He had overheard everything she and Beitang Huan said.

He didn’t know he had cast such a big shadow in her heart. It was his own fault, leading her to think about leaving.

Moreover, she hadn’t kept it from him. She said after she gave birth, she wanted to leave this place.

If she left here, where could she go?

When he sat down, the large bed sunk down significantly. Xia Qingqian suddenly opened her eyes and, seeing a vaguely familiar figure, thought she was hallucinating. After a moment of tossing and turning, she closed her sleepy eyes and went back to sleep.

He reached out and gently stroked her fair, tender cheek. She must have suffered a lot on the ranch. Seeing her delicate little hands with calluses forming, they weren’t as soft as before.

In her sleep, Xia Qingqian always felt something was off, like someone was sitting right next to her, but it didn’t quite feel like it.

However, when she felt a pair of large hands moving over her cheeks, she knew it was indeed him by her side. She quickly opened her eyes, trying to sit up, ”Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be in the study?”

When he left, he said he was going to work in the study, and at that time, he had a stern expression. Why had he returned?

”I wasn’t comfortable leaving you alone here, so after I finished my work, I came to keep you company.” He spoke with such tenderness that Xia Qingqian could hardly believe the man speaking to her was Beitang Yao.

”Young Master Yao, actually, I’m fine on my own. If you’re busy, you don’t have to come over to keep me company.” She watched him help her sit up, feeling a bit overwhelmed, ”If I ever feel bored, I can find Huan and Sister Huan. You really don’t need to worry so much about me.”

Beitang Yao’s face was somewhat gloomy, staring at her with a frown, ”Are you saying you need Huan and them more than you need me?”

Xia Qingqian was frightened by his expression and quickly said, ”These past few months, I’ve gotten used to having them by my side, and besides, there are many things you don’t understand, so you can’t take care of me.”

”But I can learn. As long as I can be by your side, I’m willing to do anything, even fetching water to wash your feet.” He spoke emotionally, looking at her earnestly.

Xia Qingqian’s heart trembled as she listened to his words, feeling deeply moved. She smiled at him and said, ”Young Master Yao, you’ve already been more than good to me. Asking you to fetch water to wash my feet is too much for me to bear, plus your big hands are meant for doing great things, not serving women.”

”Are you concerned about me? You don’t want me to tire myself, do you?” He seemed to catch a hint, a charming smile forming at the corner of his mouth.

She really couldn’t imagine that there would be a day when he would speak to her in such a low voice.

”I’m speaking the truth. Besides, if you really did that, I’d genuinely worry about shortening my own lifespan, do you understand?” she lowered her head and said softly.
