Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

He also heard the concern in her voice, and a surge of warmth filled that place in his heart. He smiled and said, ”I have a lot of projects to handle, so the workload is quite heavy. It’s just that I haven’t been fulfilled in a certain aspect, and the work may be somewhat overwhelming. Sigh.”

She widened her eyes, looking at the man in front of her who was sighing. Was the certain aspect he referred to that aspect?

”I’m really not up for it.” Her ears felt hot, and after she became pregnant, she didn’t have much desire for that aspect. The book said it’s not good for the fetus, and even if it’s possible, she didn’t dare to take too much risk.

She knew that he had always been insatiable in that aspect, with his abundant energy, whenever he engaged in it, he did it recklessly.

”I know you can’t, so I simply have to endure it. I’ve been enduring it for these past few months, what’s another two months?” After fixing his belt, he walked over to her, crouched down, and helped her put on her shoes. Her originally slender, delicate feet were now swollen like dumplings. ”Does it hurt?”

Xia Qingqian instinctively shrank her feet, unsure why he was grabbing her foot and asking this. She quickly shook her head and said, ”It doesn’t hurt, it’s just edema. It’s something every pregnant woman experiences, don’t make a fuss.”

”It’s all my fault that you’re like this, I’m truly sorry.” His actions of helping her put on her shoes were somewhat clumsy, but extremely careful, worried that he might accidentally hurt her.

”Young Master Yao, don’t blame yourself. It’s really just edema. After giving birth, it will subside. It’s nothing.” She looked at him squatting down to help her put on shoes, was this something he could do? She never dared to imagine he would do such a thing for her.

”What? Just this has moved you?” He got up, touched her small nose with his finger. ”You’re carrying such a big belly for me, for me to do this little thing for you, what’s that?”

To him, indeed it was a small thing, but to Xia Qingqian, it was moving. For a man as noble as Beitang Yao, there was a day when he would crouch down and put shoes on for a woman.

She felt sorry for him, his large hands should be used for big things, not crouched down helping her put on shoes.

”Look at you, so unpromising, getting teary just because someone put shoes on you?” Beitang Yao sat down, took out a handkerchief, and wiped away the tears from her face, comforting her: ”Didn’t they say crying too much isn’t good for the baby?”

During dinner, Beitang Huan ate while looking at Xia Qingqian with a probing gaze.

Xia Qingqian couldn’t bear being looked at like that by Beitang Huan, so she asked, ”Huan, why are you watching me? Is there a blemish on my face?” Saying this, she put down her chopsticks and touched her face.

”Haha, no, no, still as beautiful as a fairy!” Beitang Huan laughed. ”Qian Qian, I have to say, you’re really a captive of love. As long as he’s even a little kind to you, speaks to you softly, you burn like a moth to a flame, without considering any suffering you’ve endured. Sigh, love truly numbs the mind!”

”Huan, when you actually meet someone for whom you would give everything, no matter how he might hurt you, just one word from him, and you’d soften your heart.” Xia Qingqian’s lips curled faintly, as she stopped eating and looked at Beitang Huan, ”I really can’t bear to hate someone, it’s just too painful.”
