Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Xia Qingqian took a deep breath and said, ”Young Master Yao, may I make a request?”

”What request?”

”When I give birth, could you let me go? I will work hard to earn money and pay you back, even if it takes a lifetime, I will keep my promise!” After saying this, she shut her eyes tightly, not daring to look at him, barely able to breathe, only gasping heavily.

He tightened his grip on her waist and raised his eyebrows, ”Why do you want to leave my side?”

”Young Master Yao, I can’t endure this torment anymore, I’m exhausted.” She caught the coldness in his tone, opened her eyes suddenly, and looked at him faintly, ”I thought, no matter how much torment, how much grievance, I could endure it. But, I can’t, I really can’t. I would rather break the contract than continue this.”

”Are you aware of the consequences of breaking the contract?” He half-closed his eyes and said coldly, ”It’s not just as simple as compensation, it could even lead to your family being ruined.”

She stared at him in horror, her heart clenching at his words, ”Didn’t you say you would give me a status? I don’t want that status anymore, can I trade it to fulfill my promise?”

”What do you think the things I give you are? Do you want to trade my sincerity for your departure?” He was somewhat angry, but considering she was pregnant, he dared not truly show his anger.

Besides, it was he who made her so apprehensive; anyone would be afraid, let alone this fragile young woman.

”Young Master Yao, I don’t mean that, I know I am not worthy of you, getting your acknowledgment is already a blessing for me, but I can’t bear such a blessing.” She waved her hands to explain hurriedly.

”Are you rejecting me?” His handsome face was covered with a layer of frost, becoming increasingly daunting, ”Are you afraid I will hurt you again, is that it?”

He thought that everything he had done was very clear, but why, in the eyes of this young woman, did she see his intentions as if they were a malignant tumor?

”I am really afraid, I’m afraid of all of this, including you, I don’t know what could happen to me any day.” She nodded, ”Young Master Yao, please, will you let me go?”

His embrace around her also ceased, and after a while he said, ”You will encounter nothing, and I will not let you go, understand?”

Xia Qingqian shivered, staring at him blankly, sighing softly, ”Young Master Yao, I can give birth for you, but I will not stay by your side, I will not be the last person in your life, I know my own worth.”

He turned her body around, cradled her face, and said with furrowed brows, ”You want to be an irresponsible mother, give birth to the child, and leave it to me? If one day the child asks where they came from, how do I explain? Are you willing to leave all these questions to me alone?”

She stood dazed, unable to regain her senses for a long time, slowly digesting what he had just said in her heart.

The words were beautifully spoken, but there was always a thorn in her heart that couldn’t be removed, and even if it was removed, there would still be a lump. That lump wasn’t formed in a day or two, but accumulated over time.

”Young Master Yao, anyone who has seen a ghost is afraid of the dark, let alone a young woman like me, I understand the nature of our relationship, but can you give me a little time to consider?” She no longer wanted to hold onto any greater hope, as the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.
