One-Eyed Monster

Teacher Hadi’s cryptic response floating in the wind was quite an iconic reply, leaving Igor and Perkins both amused and exasperated.

”Teacher, can you stop being so funny? Can’t we have a proper conversation?” Igor said helplessly, finding himself at a loss when it came to Teacher Hadi.

”Yeah, please don’t amuse yourself with us, we’re really stressed right now, joking around like this is too much for us to handle,” Perkins added from the side, perfectly teaming up with Igor in their remarks.

”You guys just don’t listen earnestly, you’re entirely preoccupied with your own feelings. When I say the answer drifts in the wind, it means exactly that—drifting in the wind. I wonder what you two are really thinking...”

Teacher Hadi’s scathing remarks made Igor’s face alternate between red and white, unsure how to react.

Igor felt this obviously was a slap to the face because he was a student of Teacher Hadi, while Perkins was a guest. No matter how clueless a guest may be, they deserve some respect...

So Igor looked up at the sky, carefully observing to see just how many answers were floating up there...

Perkins followed suit, mimicking Igor’s behavior and began staring at the sky too...

Truly, these two were foolish beyond belief.

Teacher Hadi looked at the two with surprise, not expecting them to be so persistently stubborn.

Teacher Hadi contemplated giving a hint but thought better of it; Igor needed to be capable on his own, he should find the answer himself this time.

Seeing the two tilt their heads back to gaze at the sky, Teacher Hadi was truly tempted to laugh out loud.

However, a lecturer at Yonder Travel Academy had to maintain a certain image.

Just as Teacher Hadi was considering giving Igor a chance to discover the answer, Stan Sol, who had been vomiting uncontrollably, stopped twitching and gradually got to his feet.

This drew everyone’s attention towards Stan Sol...

”Thank you, this has always been a bottleneck in my cultivation process, thank you for helping me overcome it, Teacher,” Stan Sol spoke, suddenly fluent without any stuttering.

Igor and Perkins looked at Stan Sol with astonishment, then gazed at Teacher Hadi in surprise before exclaiming in unison, ”It’s a miracle, truly a miracle!”

”The path of cultivation is filled with thorns; remember not to chase quick gains recklessly. Your health is your own, and blindly seeking shortcuts is not wise,” Teacher Hadi gently advised.

Igor understood what cultivation entailed; once becoming an Adventurer with Class, one needs to constantly improve oneself. This improvement process is called cultivation, which is challenging because every advancement consumes great physical energy. Without a certain tenacity, it’s difficult to reach a new level.

”The teacher is right, I can’t help it...”

”You both carry heavy burdens; young people like you are quite rare now. Having you brothers in your family is certainly fortunate for your clan.”

”Teacher, you met Tor—uh, I mean when did you meet my brother.”

”Many years ago, perhaps seven, no, eight years, I can’t remember exactly; age clouds memory, and I often jot things down in a little notebook,” Teacher Hadi said, revealing a notebook.

”I also have such a notebook, haha, memory is unreliable, but this notebook isn’t,” Perkins said unexpectedly upon seeing the notebook.

This interjection made Igor feel the previously harmonious atmosphere suddenly shifted, and Teacher Hadi’s hard-won serious demeanor morphed again because of these words.

It was indeed peculiar; they were initially discussing how Teacher Hadi cured Stan Sol’s stutter, but now the conversation cycled back to cultivation and memory...

Igor wanted to interrupt Perkins and Teacher Hadi but had no suitable excuse.

The answer floats in the wind; Igor savored these words again, seeking clues to what answer might drift in the wind. This question puzzled Igor, leaving him bewildered, as if everything was unknown, causing inner turmoil.

”How am I supposed to find it?” Igor muttered, feeling the need to solve the problem independently.

Reflecting on everything Teacher Hadi said, whether about Perkins or Stan Sol, it seemed he always got it right.

The scent of the Tree Spirit, the scent of flame—one belonged to Perkins, as he had merged blood with the Tree Spirit, and the other corresponded to Stan Sol because of his Battle Pet Fiery Blaze.

These were things Teacher Hadi discerned on his own without any indication showing he understood the situation.

Moreover, just from the flames, Teacher Hadi deduced Stan Sol’s identity, which was a marvel.

Igor gradually thought, if Teacher Hadi could display such divination-like abilities, why couldn’t he?

He was younger than Teacher Hadi, had better memory, better health, overall surpassing Teacher Hadi—so why couldn’t he be like Teacher Hadi...

Igor struggled to accept the current situation, feeling he had no reason to be so ignorant.

Pondering put him at unease, and unconsciously he started releasing energy, sensing the surrounding Spirit Power.

Gradually, he sensed a unique brightness emanating from Stan Sol, and a colorful glow from Perkins...

Could these be the essence of the Spirit Sensing state?

Igor felt like he’d discovered a new continent, continuing to enhance his Spirit Power skills to sense the surrounding Spirit Power, gradually transforming everything into a clearer state...

Are these the answers?

Igor was filled with unprecedented excitement, feeling he’d inadvertently mastered a new skill, and soon he’d be able to forecast like Teacher Hadi.

He understood these weren’t foretelling but instant comprehension of the surroundings followed by reasoning and judgment.

Reasoning and judgment were the process; sensing details was key. Igor seemed to have mastered the first step.

Sensing details was a skill of the Adventurer class, which Igor had unknowingly mastered.

Igor was full of satisfaction; he’d heard before that Hunters’ Secret Sensing Skills were most similar to Adventurers, but no one could specify Adventurers’ Spirit Sensing Skill, unlike the other six major classes, Adventurers remained fringe—not even fringe...

Perhaps soon, Igor could find the answers in the wind, sensing everything...
