One-Eyed Monster

Igor had no hope at all for the Spirit Book; he didn’t think of it as a golden finger.

However, the Spirit Book seemed determined, insisting that Igor must look at it with new eyes.

It’s quite difficult for someone to prove themselves. After all, you might think you’re remarkable, but others might not see it that way, they might even think you’re just a fool...

Take Igor as an example right now; he thinks the Spirit Book is a bit silly, always emphasizing how important its abilities are, yet fundamentally it hasn’t brought him any help.

Igor is still struggling to listen to Perkins’ story. Such a story with a broad span is hard to clarify, but Igor not only needs to clear the story’s trajectory but also gets the whole story straight, and then analyze its logical consistency and so on...

All these tedious and complex tasks have to be done by Igor himself; the Spirit Book hasn’t helped him one bit.

That’s why he sneers at the Spirit Book.

What’s unreliable is forever unreliable, no need for further discussion. Every time it appears, it’s so arrogant, it’s infuriating to listen to... Rather than contending with this unreliable thing, it’s better for Igor to calm down and thoroughly analyze Perkins’ headache-inducing story.

At this moment, the Spirit Connection did not say anything either; it’s gathering power to properly analyze the matter told by Perkins.

It’s holding its breath, making sure to show Igor some meaningful colors...

This counts as a baffling affair as a partner tries every possible way to help Igor, yet Igor doesn’t appreciate it, as if the Spirit Book is begging Igor.

Helping someone while begging Igor, as if without begging, it just can’t assist properly, this feeling of humiliation makes one extremely uncomfortable.

What kind of affair is this!

Now these two who should have been united into one are sulking; one thinks the other is unreliable, while the other believes the counterpart is hard to serve. It’s hard to really understand what’s going on with these two.

But it’s fine for Igor, he doesn’t take this matter too seriously; after all, the unreliable nature of the Spirit Book had been firmly rooted in his heart beforehand, so he never expected much from it...

Perkins’ story is currently Igor’s primary concern.

It had been illustrated to Perkins previously, but he still hasn’t learned his lesson, continuing to chatter on in his accustomed manner...

So for Igor, it’s a very complex matter, his mind is completely muddled for now, Perkins said plenty, but nothing resolved his doubts.

Why can Perkins, a non-adventurer, enter his Inner World?

It’s shocking that without Spirit Sensing Ability he could enter his Inner World.

Yet Igor finds that others seem not to care much about this, only he remains attached to the matter.

Igor doesn’t consider Perkins a bad person, but lacks enough reason to prove that Perkins isn’t a con because a non-adventurer surely cannot enter the adventurer’s Spirit Sensing range.

So Igor feels Perkins is deceiving him, he must be a professional adventurer and a very adept adventurer who can hide his strength.

This idea, while firm, lacks sufficient evidence because Perkins’ story had early dismissed the adventurer notion since Perkins said he had been tested previously and did not possess the Spirit Sensing ability...

Igor is conflicted here; he doesn’t know how to proceed.

After all, this matter is indeed quite complex for him.

The Spirit Book is way stronger than Igor in this aspect.

After all, it’s created by Lord Soron, possessing the wisdom and effort of Lord Soron. Lord Soron’s experiences directly determine the cognitive range of this Spirit Book; it contains Lord Soron’s Spirit Power and memories.

These memories directly raise its cognition above many.

Besides, it’s still a book, which means its greatest feature is storage; it stores a great deal of information.

Regarding the term apothecarist, the Spirit Book retrieved its memory and didn’t find such a profession, so it concluded this thing to be a new term, surely something that emerged not long ago.

However, similar matters to this apothecarist do exist, but they’re seen among Tree Spirits... Tree Spirits are alien species; these aliens’ peculiar abilities instantly surpass all humans; Tree Spirits are naturally in tune with nature, using Natural Force compared to Wizards, it’s sky versus ground. Wizards wish to resonate with nature like Tree Spirits do, but no matter how they enhance their Sensing Ability, they can’t reach the Tree Spirits’ level...

The Spirit Book carefully reads up on Tree Spirit records; it seems this alien species has always been kind of an unsolvable existence, these Tree Spirits are bound together with natural trees, they co-exist with trees, entwined on great trees in childhood and fully integrate with them in adulthood, even changing tree forms at will...

The power of these Tree Spirits all comes from nature; they can make flora grow, control thunder and rain, influence wind directions and water flows—powers Wizards dream of, yet completely normal for Tree Spirits.

The Spirit Book continues digging, feels it’s finding some threads of clue. It seems Perkins’ abnormal performance significantly relates to Tree Spirits!

Wait, didn’t Perkins’ story mention Tree Spirits already? His apothecarist title came from Tree Spirits, and he also said he dined with Tree Spirits together!

Could it be that Tree Spirits imparted their skills to him? If so, then everything is resolved.

Though Tree Spirits imparting skills to humans sounds shocking, doesn’t resemble reality.

Long ago, Tree Spirits and humans rarely interacted, the two were in separate wells without issues, but later Vero people’s reckless expansion threatened the forests—Tree Spirits’ habitat, which forced Tree Spirits to emerge and punish the Vero people... A series of thrilling battles eventually led to Vero people and Tree Spirits alternately governing the Vero Realm’s power.

The Spirit Book noted its excessive digging, then returned to the starting point. Since the apothecarist title was given by Tree Spirits to Perkins, it’s inferred Perkins had an extraordinary experience with Tree Spirits.

During that period, surely something happened leading to changes with Perkins...
