One-Eyed Monster

Perkins originally wanted to argue a bit more, but he was stopped by Stan Sol.

”In the Inner World, there will be no lies. Everyone here will be honest, it’s a rule set by Igor, the controller, so everything he says is the truth.”

Stan Sol spoke heavily, and from what Rostov said earlier, he picked up on something, linking it to events in his own life, causing his heart to tighten involuntarily.

”Tobin’s state is very unstable, it seems his consciousness has drifted to another world. I always thought he was trapped in some Inner World, but Dean Hoffman from Yonder Travel Academy said there’s no such situation with Tobin!”

”I want to know, at that time, was Tobin also having a big obstacle in expressing himself, finding it hard to articulate a complete sentence like me?” Stan Sol suddenly asked.

”Now that you mention it, I do recall, when Tobin lost consciousness, he found it difficult to speak, but it wasn’t like you, stuttering, just that it was very tiring to say anything.”

”At that time, was he able to fully control the Thunder, was he also like me, summoning Thunder as a Battle Pet?”

”Yes, that’s right, by then he had already made Thunder his pet. Although I don’t know how this was done, the power he displayed was quite formidable.” Rostov was very surprised why Stan Sol knew all these, could it be due to their brotherly bond?

”Alright, I understand a bit. What other anomalies were there when Tobin lost consciousness at that time?”

”Ah, this is very strange, till now I haven’t been able to determine what exactly happened. Tobin’s change wasn’t sudden either, there’s another thing, this has bothered me for a long time, and even now I don’t know what truly occurred!”

”You’re evading the question; I wasn’t asking about that.” Perkins said, feeling that Rostov was purposely changing the subject.

”Don’t rush, everything is interconnected, this matter must be clarified.” Rostov remained calm and composed, as if he wanted to spell things out word by word.

Stan Sol seemed to have predicted what Rostov was going to say, because he too thought of that tragedy at this very moment.

That was a devastating blow to their Sol Family, unforgettable to this day, but he knew things weren’t as simple as he thought, and Tobin had to clarify right from wrong.

Stan Sol looked at Rostov and then asked in a low voice, ”Are you going to talk about that massacre a few years ago?”

Rostov looked at Stan Sol then shook his head, ”I know, in your mind, I am the Devil since that massacre happened.”

”The reason I haven’t lost control and am still negotiating with you is because my friend Igor told me you’re not like that, and I couldn’t sense any evil in your son.” Stan Sol said, he originally resented Rostov, but Igor’s persuasion on Guru Mountain made him waver a bit, and now in the Inner World where honesty prevails, he started seeing the possibility of a misunderstanding.

”Those people were indeed sent by me...”

”Father!” Hustace couldn’t believe it, his own father actually launched an attack on the Sol Family, he couldn’t accept it!

”Don’t get too worked up yet, Hustace, listen to what your father has to say.” Perkins calmed down at this moment, carefully recalling the words he heard just now, gradually realizing there might be a bigger story behind it all.

”I sent those League Guards to find the Sol Family, hoping someone from the family could join my team, Tobin was so incredible that he piqued my strong interest in the Sol Family.”

”How did you know our family was in that forest?”

”Tobin told me.”

...

Stan Sol found it hard to believe, if not for Igor’s Inner World rules, he really couldn’t be sure if he would suspect the governor of lying.

”Your family secluded at the border of Kayne Realm and Vero Realm, that Alfalfa Forest changes color in the sunlight, all of which Tobin told me.” Rostov explained everything clearly, though the story he would tell next wasn’t long, it required others to digest it slowly.

”Your pack of wild League Guards found the location accurately.”

”No, they are not wild dogs, they are loyal subordinates.”

”Then you’re the Devil!” Stan Sol’s emotions started to flare up.

Facing this roar, Rostov closed his eyes helplessly: ”I know, the outside world says I’m the one who made a deal with the Devil, that I slaughtered Tobin’s family to bind him to me, using his family’s safety to blackmail him, extracting everything out of him...”

The people listened to Rostov’s account, feeling a tumultuous urge, a disdain and anger towards evil people.

”However, my League Guards didn’t have such high skills, among them Roots was the most outstanding, yet even he couldn’t withstand your Flame Sword, right?”

Stan Sol was surprised, at this point realizing that the massacre had some twists.

His family members weren’t of weak power, and those wild dogs storming into their family didn’t seem of normal strength.

It was as if those wild dogs were crazy, like they had been fed Berserk Potion.

”Sol, you should understand with what I said, although those League Guards were sent by me, I didn’t direct their actions. My subordinates didn’t have the capability to massacre an ancient Hunter family.”

Perkins gasped, what kind of unexpected changes could have occurred in between?

”If it weren’t for the Inner World, I wouldn’t believe a word you say, but now, I’m forced to believe you.” Stan Sol was in pain, as this past had a strong imprint on his heart, it was difficult for him to overturn his earlier convictions.

”I know, in my place, I wouldn’t believe it either, none of the League Guards returned, and in the outside world, it was said that I, Rostov, silenced them. But I know the truth, I used a lot of effort to finally track down a few of the League Guards, and then I brought them back by various secret means.”

”Are those people now in Luona?”

”Yes, but the changes are so great that I cannot accept it.”

”What kind of changes?” Stan Sol was puzzled.

”Those I brought back, they’re all insane, and their entire appearance changed, although their faces didn’t change, their skin turned into a dry black color...”
