Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1381: Chapter 4: Bastia, Never to Fall (Extra)

”Those were just in other villages and towns. In the city, so many people, a few disappearing would go unnoticed, and you’re quite satisfied with the effects of the [Ascension Dagger], aren’t you?”

At this, Alvin’s anger subsided a bit, feeling the exquisite dagger hidden in the folds of his clothes.

Using this dagger, after killing someone, he becomes stronger. However, because the body turns into a dried corpse and can’t be easily used, the Ascension Sect provides people and handles the corpses.

During this time, his strength has also soared. Having experienced such power, he can’t possibly be content with quietude anymore.

As long as he grows a little stronger, defeating Bruce and proving himself isn’t impossible. As for those ordinary people whose life force he devoured, he doesn’t care. On the contrary, they should see becoming his power as their honor.

Opposite him, the Missionary seized the chance to incite him.

”Go ahead, just complete the ritual, and Bastia will be yours immediately. You’re the man chosen by the God, and they’re just obstacles on the path of Ascension.”

”Impossible, I’ve said many times not to touch them.” Hearing this, Alvin’s face subtly twitched, mere sweet talk. He’s not those ordinary people who can easily believe it. He can use these people’s power, but he can’t walk their path entirely.

After all, these lunatics want to eliminate the Earl and Bruce.

Alvin wants to prove himself, not become their puppet.

”But that’s not what they think...”

The Missionary let out a sinister laugh and cast a spell. Alvin suddenly heard the Earl and Bruce’s conversation, these people have the ability to lurk beside the Earl, what terrifying capability.

But Alvin’s attention wasn’t there. He only heard his father’s cursing, and even the gloom of the underground chamber couldn’t conceal his rage.

Actually, if the complete process was perceived, you could feel the Earl and Bruce’s protection for Alvin, but the evil cult understands the basic principle of recording, and as a Missionary, he expertly incites hearts.

Although not falsified, some deletions and splicing were made to the content, causing the entire conversation to consist solely of the two’s dissatisfaction and disdain toward Alvin.

Ultimately, it’s the Earl and Bruce who suffer for not having a professional spellcaster advisor, otherwise a ritual to disrupt Spiritual Essence wouldn’t make them so easily eavesdropped upon.

”You see, they never cared about you, and they’ve long wanted to kick you out. Once imprisoned, you will have no more chances.”

The Missionary ended the Spirit Communication Ritual, continuing to incite Alvin.

”Impossible, do you think I’d believe you?” Although Alvin was filled with fury, he hadn’t lost his reason yet, which was indeed miraculous.

”Go now, we’ve already prepared the sacrifice for you.”

Upon hearing this, Alvin couldn’t contain himself, clutching his chest as he turned to leave the chamber.

The Missionary didn’t stop him, just watched him leave, but couldn’t help but make a sarcastic remark.

”Fear, I smell the scent of a wretch. He doesn’t not believe, he just doesn’t dare to believe, even less to resist. How did we end up choosing such a greedy yet cowardly person.”

They just needed Alvin’s inheritance rights to control all of Bastia from the top. They were also worried about retaliation from the Church and those nobles, otherwise, who would want to deal with such a giant baby.

Even the evil cult found Alvin distasteful, which was quite amusing.

”The outcome was destined from the moment he accepted the dagger.” At this moment, a tall but unnaturally gaunt figure walked out from the darkness beside them, clad in a long black robe, holding a uniquely styled Magic Wand.

If the guess is correct, this was the leader of the Ascension Sect whom Lance had been searching for.

”The Seed has been planted, but alas, we don’t have much time. Let it sprout tonight.” The leader said, though their attention wasn’t here.

The God had not sent any message for a long time, they needed to act quickly to control Bastia, then unite with others to launch a crusade.

”Yes!” The Missionary also exited the room, leaving only the leader to fall into meditation, hoping for divine guidance...

Meanwhile, Alvin meandered and emerged from the chamber, the upper level turned out to be disguised as a high-end clubhouse, with him carrying a hint of alcohol on him, unsure whether it was to disguise or because the recent news had given him too much pressure.

In any case, the cold wind made him shiver, his slightly intoxicated expression began to sober as he lowered his head, returning to the house outside, he hadn’t returned to the castle for a long time since he was redeemed.

Yet at this moment, there seemed to be someone at the door, a tall figure exuding a sense of pressure.

”You’ve been drinking?” Bruce slightly frowned, he didn’t recall Alvin having a penchant for alcohol.

This remark made Alvin feel immense pressure, making it difficult for him to raise his head in front of his brother, silent.

Seeing this, Bruce didn’t say anything more, instead relaxing his tone.

”Go back, have a look at home.”

Bruce understood if others were sent, it would be impossible for Alvin to return, only he could come.

But unexpectedly, those words seemed to agitate Alvin, not quite believing the words of the evil cult’s leader, but now couldn’t hold it back, raising his head and speaking in a sarcastic tone.

”Yes, you won, you can laugh at me now.”
