Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1376: Chapter 745: Treacherous Waves and Surging Clouds

Because no one dares to look directly at the Blood Moon, the Blood Moon hanging over Hamlet disappears without anyone knowing, only to be noticed when the crimson moonlight fades and darkness once again shrouds Hamlet.

However, the Extreme Darkness doesn’t last long before it begins to resemble the dimness of dawn. Looking up, the sky cover that blocked the sun is thinning, forming patches of vaguely visible light spots.

Under the intense brilliance, the black curtain dissipates like mist, tearing open weak spots through which beams of light illuminate Hamlet, which has long been deprived of sunlight.

For the black curtain is not facing the early morning light, but the blazing noon sun!

A beam of sunlight! A symbol of golden hope, scattering the miserable darkness.

Though most ordinary people hide indoors, many are still outside maintaining basic operations, and these are the first to experience the ecstatic emotions.

Pushing through the darkest despair brings such intense emotions that they can’t help but shout out.

”Daylight is here!”

”Sunlight, it’s sunlight!”

”The Lord has arrived, and the sun shines!”

Those initially using a loudspeaker for announcement shout even harder, careless of their voices turning hoarse from exertion.

This news is irresistible to all in Hamlet; the first one to open the door to look outside causes others to join in the chorus.

More and more people witness the sunlight tearing through the curtain, and some even step outside.

The cheering that starts faintly in the city spreads like an uncontrolled flood, quickly escalating into a mountain-and-sea-like celebration.

”Woohoo!”

”Yes!”

”Ahhh...”

Everyone seems infected by the atmosphere, frantically releasing the pent-up emotions.

...

The Extreme Darkness breeds the Blood Moon, and the influence of this process affects not only humans but countless other creatures living on this land.

Animals under the Blood Moon’s effect become violent and mutate, slaughtering on this land, evolving at unprecedented pace.

At the Blood Moon’s climax, somewhere unknown in Hamlet’s wilderness, a peculiarly shaped gray bear is fighting fiercely with an oversized wild boar.

As winter approaches, bears accumulate fat for hibernation, thus possessing a more urgent desire to hunt, affecting their ability to survive the harsh winter.

But this gray bear isn’t hunting to survive winter; its large patches of fur have fallen off, exposing swollen, grotesque muscles, numerous fresh and old wounds, yet appearing oblivious to pain.

With sharp teeth and claws, rising on two legs reaching two to three meters high, its eyes are scarlet, seeming insane and aggressive.

The wild boar is no less fierce than the mad bear, its exaggerated size earns it the title Wild Boar King.

Its hair stands like steel needles, revealing muscular build beneath thick fat, with tusks like two blood-stained knives.

However, similarly affected by the Blood Moon, it bears complex wounds, revealing madness simply for slaughter.

The Savage Bear swipes with sharp claws, striking the boar, causing its fat to ripple like waves, clawing fresh wounds that overturn fat.

The Wild Boar King isn’t fazed, charging and lifting its snout, slice-like tusks tearing bear skin, exposing wounds filled with fat.

The two then bite at each other with no reason; only one dying would end this.

But just then, the blazing sun pierces the curtain, the Blood Moon replaced by the sun, light again pouring over Hamlet.

The two battling Exotic beasts suddenly seem to regain composure, stopping their fight, each recognizing the other’s menace, probing cautiously then bursting apart, frightened into separate escapes...

Bears, territorial creatures, once frantically slaughtering outside, now seek retreat after injury, urgently needing to return to their caves.

For unknown reasons, possibly injury or others, the Savage Bear inadvertently wanders into a barren place, surrounded by faint man-made traces, yet strangely the wilderness hasn’t fully consumed here.

Until halted by a peculiar Stonehenge, numerous stone slabs stand by strange specifications, carved with unintelligible patterns and symbols, and among them, a large stone, bearing more complex and perplexing carvings.

Humans can hardly comprehend, let alone a bear, but the wounded bear roams among them, as if drawn in, finally staggering through Stonehenge disappearing within.

No one knows what transpires, but as the ancient monument fades, the power on the stone slab diminishes...

The boar likewise flees deeper into the wilderness, unaware why it appears in such places or fights such foes.

In wilderness survival rules, they’re inclined to escape to preserve strength, not to provoke strong enemies, favoring feeding over fighting.
