Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1237: Chapter 678: Gave You a Chance, But You Blew It!

”He isn’t worthy of receiving the power of the Holy Light.” Junia had no intention of saving the leader; on the contrary, she bluntly refused Dismas’ request.

When they rushed over earlier, although they hadn’t seen everything, they did catch a glimpse and guessed something.

She wasn’t the kind of doctor with lofty beliefs who could ignore the facts to heal the wounded; she had her own code of conduct.

This scum should just die sooner.

”Oh~ alright.” Dismas merely shrugged and smiled indifferently at this, then turned to look at the still wailing leader, ”You’re in big trouble now. We’ll have to find another way to save you, it might hurt a bit, just bear with it.”

Saying this, Dismas directly tore off the leader’s ammunition pouch and poured the gunpowder onto the wound, causing the leader to wail again. But tortured to the point where he could hardly struggle, he was so weak he could only twitch a few times as a sign.

Until the gunpowder was ignited, the wound on the leader’s thigh instantly exploded with a flash of light, thick white smoke rose up, mixed with a strange burnt smell in the gunpowder smoke’s scent.

This time the leader’s entire body instantly tensed, no longer wailing; the intense pain directly pierced through his final consciousness, and he fainted.

Which was good news for him; the wound stopped bleeding, and he no longer had to feel pain.

But for those other Looters, it scared them to the point of wetting themselves, Boss, hang in there, if you passed out, what if they start torturing us?

However, fortunately, Dismas had no intention of continuing to torture those Looters, he turned his head and looked aside, calling out to the fallen boy.

”Hey, kid! Stop pretending, get up.”

The boy also realized he was exposed, and could only struggle to barely sit up, but unexpectedly, at the same time he actually raised the gun he had just picked up, pointing it at Dismas.

”Don’t come over! Or I’ll shoot!”

Dismas also couldn’t help but pause for a moment, his gaze rested on the boy’s face, as if he saw a reflection of his past...

Half of his face was already swollen, the other side showing damage, one eye might have taken a few punches and couldn’t even open now, blood from nose and mouth mixed with dust staining his face, looking very woeful.

The strong survival instinct activated by his own will made his breathing unknowingly rough, the lips baring occasionally and the twitching features gave away the searing pain felt.

Yet despite the fear in facing Dismas, he could still make such a rebellious move, which must be said this kid had some courage.

But just with that broken pistol trying to frighten Dismas... isn’t that a bit of a joke?

Faced with the threat, Dismas didn’t retreat, instead constantly pressing towards the boy, even urging him orally.

”You’ve got one gun, one bullet, there are four of us here, two of them are armored, who are you going to shoot?”

”I’ll just shoot you, don’t come over, at worst we’ll die together!” The boy forced himself to shout, trying his best to show he was not easy to mess with.

”Haven’t you had enough, right, can you really go toe to toe with me, Dismas, with that broken gun of yours?” But Dismas not only wasn’t scared, he directly accelerated and moved closer, aiming at the muzzle, ”Go ahead, shoot.”

The boy had never seen such a ruthless person before, stunned for a moment, and that person already stood in front of him.

”Alright, I’ll give you one more chance.” Seeing no reaction from him, Dismas directly bent down, grabbed the barrel and pressed it against his own forehead, ”Is this enough? With a pull of the trigger, my life would be over.”

”Kid, I’m counting to three, just three.” Dismas locked eyes with him, his gaze calmly indifferent, yet his mouth continued counting, ”One, two...”

As he said three, Dismas snatched the gun, even before the boy could react, the movement in his hand remained unchanged.

”Given the chance, you couldn’t take it!” Dismas wasn’t too concerned about his reaction, while playing with the bloodstained gun, he didn’t forget to mock.

At this time, the boy finally responded, his swollen face no longer showing an expression, but his eyes revealed a hopeless numbness.

However, Dismas didn’t lay a hand on him, instead, he greatly admired him, after all, back in his own youth, being impetuous cost him a lot, realizing it too late, filled with regret.

”Watch carefully, kid, this is how you use a musket.”

In front of the boy, Dismas pulled back the hammer to demonstrate, then actually handed it back to him.

”Kid, I’m telling you, having guts is a good thing, but before you act, you have to read the situation clearly, don’t think you’re very powerful, because in this world, there’s always someone stronger than you, the stronger people are the more in control they are of themselves.

And another thing, guns aren’t tools for threats, they’re for killing, when you draw a gun, it means you’re ready to fire, otherwise you’ve just exposed your intentions.”

Saying this, he casually tossed over that leader’s ammunition pouch, ”Take it, without this your gun is just scrap iron.”

At this time, Junia walked over, looking at the wounds left on the boy’s body from the beating, she raised her hand to perform Divine Arts to heal him.

”May the Holy Light Sanctuary you.”

When that sacred power descended upon the boy’s nearly shattered body, the pain instantly eased... even a sliver of sympathy being rare amidst a fierce battle.

With Junia casting her Divine Arts, Reynard also came over, indicating to the boy as he spoke.

”We are Hamlet’s special task force established to address the complex situation of the ruins, next time if you come across a crime, you can go to the town to report it.”
