Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1235: Chapter 677: The Ultimate Humiliation

The Scorpion and his group backed away from the frontline, but just as they stepped back, they noticed more and more adventurers, and the cries for help above the ruins drew their attention.

”Captain, look over there.”

The Scorpion glanced in that direction, his brow furrowing slightly. Although his expression showed some disgust, he didn’t intend to say anything further, instead gesturing with a slight wave of his hand to indicate not to meddle in these affairs.

What they saw were the Looters robbing another group of people.

Such things were far too common; after being a mercenary for so many years and struggling in this world, they’ve seen far too many similar situations.

In fact, one second they’re mercenaries, and the next they become Looters; some Mercenary Corps also take on the role of Looters, motivated purely by the risk and profit rather than ethics.

Adventurers aren’t stupid; they often form small groups, and their weapons indicate they’re not easy prey but porcupines, ready to break teeth if anyone dares to take a bite.

But those Looters are even more professional; they also rally more people and more weapons.

Moreover, they select targets, knowing whom they can provoke and whom they cannot, usually targeting lone adventurers or scavengers who lack resistance.

There’s no help; if it were a caravan, they might give it a try, but these scavengers are left alone, as saving them doesn’t benefit the Mercenary Corps, and these paupers can’t pay any bounty.

Not to mention, it’s such a frequent occurrence; saving one doesn’t mean saving them all, and those Looters will resist, easily trapping them.

Anyway, those Looters won’t, and don’t dare to provoke the real Mercenary Corps.

The rest of the team had no more to say; a whole day of exploration had exhausted their energy, continuing their own path, gradually moving away from this side...

The leader of the Looters relaxed only after seeing the Mercenary Corps didn’t come over. Just moments ago, he was deathly afraid, but now he dared to sneer as he boasted to the terrified scavengers.

”See! Even those Mercenary Corps wouldn’t dare provoke me. When they see us, they have to run away with their tails between their legs. If it weren’t for you useless people blocking the way, I’d even attack them just the same.”

The more he spoke, the more agitated he became, deceiving even himself, and his underlings all chimed in.

”Exactly! Those guys don’t even dare to let out a fart when they see us.”

”Come here and I’ll take on two at a time.”

”I’ll fight ten of them!”

The young man had already been badly injured; only during their distraction could he move, but he hadn’t run far before being caught again.

The young man looked at his companions with anger, despite their prior agreement to escape separately when the opportunity arose; he’d already drawn their attention away, so why hadn’t they moved? Why!

Unfortunately, those guys were too scared; without anyone standing up, they directly squandered this rare opportunity, cowardice swallowing their will.

”Boss, we caught him!” At this moment, two underlings also captured the runaway young man, holding him up on both sides.

The leader turned at the words, grabbing the young man’s hair and pulling his head up, sneering.

”Help? Do you think this is Hamlet? Two shouts and the police will come?”

The mention of this made the leader displeased; back in town, he went to hire a prostitute, hit her over some dispute, and before he’d even left the brothel, was locked up, forced to pay a fine to get out.

When had hiring a prostitute ever been so frustrating? The brothel even blacklisted him; remembering this made the leader angry, and everything just now inflated his twisted psyche.

”This is my territory now; I’ll do whatever the hell I want!” The leader pinched the young man’s face, sneering, ”You’re quite good-looking, play with me a bit and I’ll let you go.”

”Pah!” The young man spat blood at the leader, ”Damn you!”

The leader was enraged, wiping the blood off his face, and backhanded another slap.

”Even the stupid Lord from Hamlet couldn’t save you today.” The leader seemed even more agitated, starting to undo his pants, ”Hold him down for me!”

The young man realized something was wrong, struggling fiercely, blood-stained teeth bared as he shouted, ”Let go of me!”

For these people, taking advantage of a male wasn’t unusual; they’re not necessarily into men, but see it as a form of venting, humiliation, a declaration of their power.

Of course, some might actually have that preference, as in other places, brothels do have young boys; just not in Hamlet.

The other underlings saw this and couldn’t help but cheer, eager to witness the spectacle.

Also, not all these guys could afford a prostitute, so after repressing themselves in Hamlet for a while, they planned to take their turn after the boss was done.

However, this revelry led them to overlook something, a very abrupt voice from behind.

”Hey! What were you just saying?”

A tall man draped in a coat, a red scarf around his neck, emerged, two muskets at his waist, a short sword sheathed.

His demeanor was flippant, but his gaze was full of anger, just a glance making the Looters panic, instinctively trying to distance themselves.
