Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1111: Chapter 615: Nonsense

”I was forced to leave Bastia.” Sofia explained with a complex expression, ”At that time...”

She truly made a desperate gamble back then. In the instant she touched Laura, she had already tampered with things, both parties’ scents would cause an inexplicable attraction to each other for a short period.

Otherwise, why would someone as cool as Laura, akin to a Hawk, take the risk to save someone who had embarrassed her?

Is this the power of a Perfumer?

Hiss~ How terrifying it is!

But here comes the interesting part, she probably did not expect that Laura was already prepared to run away then.

Indeed, she was rescued, but when she woke up, she faced Laura’s warning.

Once Laura leaves, it will be exposed. The Eagle Flock will definitely investigate her identity; Sofia had no confidence in facing those people.

If she didn’t run together, she’d be exposed for sure. By then, the Eagle Flock, realizing they’d been deceived, wouldn’t be easy to deal with; death would be a blessing.

Just now, the trick she used on Laura had already consumed all the state she’d recovered over time, let alone the severe injury to her head.

In her current condition, escaping the Eagle Nest is simply unrealistic.

Another reason is that the spell’s effect is mutual; Laura feels a certain way about her, and she also feels the same about Laura, unwilling to leave her, having no choice but to follow.

Sofia felt as if she was captured by the Eagle Flock, falling into a vast net, with things spiraling out of her control.

She wanted to use Laura, but turned around and found herself tied to a red bucket by Laura.

Sometimes reality is so abstract, completely ignoring logic.

Even Lance couldn’t help but smirk upon hearing this because he feared he might laugh.

For Sofia, following Laura in the escape was the only choice, especially given the existence of that special sentiment between them.

Otherwise, according to Lance’s understanding of Laura, Sophia would probably be stabbed to death with a blade, disregarding everything else, much less leaking the plan.

Anyway, due to the blockade in Bastia, materials couldn’t be procured, amidst rumors she seemed to have heard about the place called Hamlet, so she just followed along.

But initially, she thought she could easily escape with the identity of Eagle Flock, encountering another unexpected twist halfway through, getting entangled with Margaret, the situation becoming more complex.

She didn’t know Margaret and initially thought she was some Barbarian mercenary, not wanting to be burdened by such a load.

Moreover, she was being chased by the Eagle Flock, taking Margaret along would increase their chances of being discovered.

But she couldn’t decide anything, having to go along, until Laura distracted the Eagle Flock, giving them a chance to breathe.

At that time, she truly fainted unconscious, and the head injury couldn’t be fixed with simple bandaging, let alone the constant fleeing which had long caused the wound to rupture.

Regardless, when she woke up, she was already out of the city...

Lance listened to her narrative, his expression was somewhat strange.

He could sense Sofia’s displeasure towards Margaret at the time, but what she didn’t know was that when she was fainted unconscious, Margaret helped reapply medicine and dress her wounds, saving her life.

She viewed Margaret as a burden, yet Laura viewed her as a burden too, probably the spell’s effect was wearing off at that time.

And when Laura suggested leaving her behind, it was Margaret’s advice that stopped Laura from abandoning the severely injured Sofia, carrying her out together instead.

Only by comparison can it be seen, contrasted with Sofia, Margaret’s straightforward and kind nature makes her seem like a compassionate saint.

If it weren’t for Margaret, when the spell’s effect had worn off, Laura, realizing it, would probably have shot an arrow at Sofia; it was Margaret’s presence diverting Laura’s attention, allowing Sofia to escape this calamity.

Later, both supporting each other, without Margaret’s care, she definitely couldn’t have made it through the initial road, let alone reaching Hamlet.

One could say the ”Barbarian” dismissively regarded by Sofia saved her not less than three times.

However, later Sofia’s attitude towards Margaret improved after all.

Honestly, Margaret’s qualities naturally evoke goodwill, and ordinary people surely prefer kind and decent individuals, unlike someone like Sofia who requires medicine and spells to win favor.

Lance lost interest in listening to further tales of their escape, having heard the testimonies from Margaret and Laura twice before, with Sofia saying nothing back then.

”But what about the Knight? Wasn’t Bastia the agreed upon place for both of you? Did you just leave like that?”

Lance didn’t let her gloss over matters, directly asking an essential question, what about the Champion Knight they had agreed on?

Possibly for Sofia, it was also a painful matter, subconsciously avoiding it.

Now, with Lance bringing it up directly, she could only throw out a slightly agitated sentence.

”I don’t know! I also don’t know where he went! He abandoned me, Bastia is no longer safe.”

According to Sofia, the escape plan was deliberated for a long time, the rendezvous in Bastia was coded.

But the unexpected happened, the agreed time had long passed, no sign of the agreed code appeared, her left code also showed no response.

Actually, at this point, Sofia already understood there was trouble; she was unsure of the Knight’s situation, but as a Transcendent, she knew even if unsaid, those people had ways to get Bastia out of the Knight’s mind.
