Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1003: Chapter 564: The Great Battle!

As night fell, after two days of recovery, Hamlet was much improved, but the sailors were still reveling in the entertainment venues.

This was quite in line with their habits, as after all, they were setting sail tomorrow and seemed to be aware of the great risk, with the shipowner directly paying wages.

And these sailors spent their wages completely, saving nothing at all.

As if tomorrow they weren’t setting sail, but going to war.

Meanwhile, Lance finally finished a day of busy work, but instead of seeking entertainment, he was handling a leftover matter.

Under the night sky, Lance walked over to Amanda’s side, but before he got close, Amanda inside the carriage seemed to sense him in advance, and came out, opening the door beforehand.

”Lord, what brings you over, I was planning to report to you tomorrow.”

But hearing this, Lance shook his head slowly.

”Let’s put those things aside for now, I’ve come here for you this time.”

”For me?” Amanda was taken aback at these words.

Amanda had gone to the civil affairs building earlier in the day to find someone, but at that time Lance was busy avoiding Tiffany, dealing with all sorts of matters, running around the town, so it was normal not to find him.

So she thought the Lord was here for those matters now.

But how was it for her?

”I said that Hamlet never neglects those who merit reward. You countered the shaman’s spell of the Fishmen and saved everyone, even at a significant cost, so you naturally deserve a proper reward.”

”Come in first, let’s talk more inside.” Amanda, though unsure, could tell it was a good thing and immediately invited Lance into the carriage.

The last time Lance entered was the previous time, and he could see that there were no significant changes.

Amanda’s carriage was still that luxurious room with a distinct alien race style, mainly chosen for comfort, not much clutter, with thick, soft carpets all over, even Lance had to take off his shoes when getting in.

The specially made candles were lit, illuminating the room while their rising smoke carried a special fragrance, keeping the air from feeling oppressive.

However, Lance’s attention soon returned to Amanda herself. She was dressed in loose clothing, yet it couldn’t conceal that intense aura of pressure, her strong legs not encased in boots, stepping barefoot on the soft carpet.

The usual sharp presence of someone in battle mode was missing, instead having a rare casualness.

Yet Lance’s gaze soon met Amanda’s eyes, and they locked eyes.

Lance previously wasn’t sure if Amanda was telling the truth, so he merely pulled her back from the brink of death, clearing the curse.

And after thorough investigation and verification, Lance was finally sure of Amanda’s achievements, and naturally felt the need to offer corresponding compensation.

Without any superfluous words, he spoke directly.

”Lie down.”

”Huh?” Amanda didn’t quite react, wasn’t this supposed to be a reward? How did it turn into lying down?

”Standing is fine too, I don’t mind, I’m just worried you’ll be uncomfortable.” Lance reached out to Amanda quite directly.

”I... I’m not ready yet!” Amanda instinctively dodged the outstretched hand, her expression a bit flustered and uneasy.

”No worries, it’ll be quick.” Lance didn’t have the time to dawdle with her, ”Endure it and it’ll pass.”

”Isn’t it going too fast... perhaps we should get acquainted first...”

But as she spoke, Lance had already grabbed her wrist.

Bless, activate!

An unending stream of spiritual essence transformed into power that flowed into her body, this overwhelming power no longer just a warm stream, exceeding even warmth, feeling scalding as it surged inside.

Amanda instantly sensed the anomaly in her body, but the increasingly intense impact rendered her muscles weak, unable even to stand, seemingly about to collapse.

”It’s okay, the heat is normal.” Lance reached out to support her, gently laying her down, her eyes wide open.

Catching her gaze, Lance couldn’t help but tease, ”Why are you looking at me? I told you lying down was better, it’s your own fault for not listening.”

With that, Lance released her, letting her lie powerless on the carpet, curling her body to adapt to the intense transformation.

Lance typically used the Bless to refresh statuses, incrementally strengthening, like a slow and steady flow, to achieve great endurance.

When blessing others, he’d usually combine it with battle or intense training scenes, subtly enhancing them.

This was why the Honor Guard’s strength was a level higher than other soldiers, because of Lance’s intervention, even though it wasn’t overtly expressed.

Because Lance believed that if they attributed all their power to him, they’d neglect how to extract strength from within, which for an expanding team would be fatal.

Relying solely on him for strengthening, what use would those people be then?

But Amanda couldn’t be handled this way, because Amanda was a Transcendent, she naturally had a strong inspiration for supernatural powers, capable of sensing changes in her body.

More importantly, due to identity reasons, Lance needed to bind Amanda, and giving her an even more intense feeling would leave a deeper impression, shaping her into his own form.

So Lance didn’t hold back at all, hitting the accelerator hard to give her a little shock.

Though it seemed intense, the spiritual essence consumed wasn’t much, as she was already at the boundary of a Master, just needing a push to advance.
