Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 999: Chapter 562: Opportunity

”I know about this, at first I also thought it was some kind of disease infection, but since the symptoms haven’t manifested yet, I dare not make a judgment lightly.”

”No, that’s not a disease, but a venomous curse from the deep sea.”

At first, Lance didn’t feel anything, thinking the curse only appeared when coming into contact with the Fishmen Shaman.

But last night when visiting the injured, he discovered some among them were also affected, only their inspiration wasn’t as strong as Amanda’s, so the curse’s contamination wasn’t easily visible.

The manifest situation was that the effect of Divine Arts treatment was poorer, and symptoms like itching and twitching would appear, which seemed not very serious.

Though the specific situation is unknown, it is definitely not just a simple curse, after all, it even attracted the gaze of some existence before.

”I feel the relationship between these Fishmen and the Ascension Sect isn’t as close as we imagined, because these Deep Divers belong more to some deep sea existence’s followers, which is the true source of the curse, so Fishmen with gods wouldn’t submit to the Ascension Sect’s god.”

Back then, it couldn’t be said with Sela, but there was no need to hide it from Grendel.

”But affairs of the sea are not for us to worry about, the curse matter is already handled, to some extent it’s rather good that it’s not a disease.”

Lance was quite optimistic, if it was disease infection, treatment would be troublesome, especially now without such a medical system, everything is progressing through exploration, and now clearing the curse is just a matter of him consuming a little Spiritual Essence.

Anyway, now it’s like having so many lice that itch doesn’t matter, one hit for the ancestor, one hit for the deep sea Evil God, it’s no big deal.

Fortunately for Grendel, since Lance came back, indeed all things were solved swiftly, and she finally didn’t have to be troubled by these matters.

But as understanding deepened, she discovered the situation faced by Hamlet was growing more difficult.

Originally thinking that after the Dawn Operation the situation could be opened up, now suddenly a deep-sea Evil God appeared possibly eyeing Hamlet, Grendel was somewhat numb.

”By the way, someone from the Association of Healers wants to see you.” Grendel found the information from Sela from the stuff on the table, ”The Association of Healers even had business with our tribe in the past, they’re not just simple doctors.”

”I know, that medical school Paracelsus is sponsored by them, although it’s in an open city like Totnes, how could they secretly do human research under the Church’s watch so simply.”

Lance casually flipped through and didn’t care much, instead looked at Grendel jokingly, ”Are you blocking them, afraid they’ll know about the rehab center’s ongoing research?”

”You also know those things can’t see light?” Grendel saw Lance asking her, she was speechless, ”Human experiments, dissecting corpses, things only evil Wizards do, aren’t you afraid of the Church launching a crusade? Not to mention stirring public outrage, that’s their angle to attack you.”

”Those opposing me can’t defeat me in a day, then these things are justified for a day.”

Lance was indifferent to her sarcastic comments, instead, smiled as he defended his ’war criminal’ behavior.

”Systematic research is much more effective than those messy ones, you’ve seen the medical development of Hamlet along the way.”

In this world, there is no such thing as human rights, let alone these projects are under his supervision, using only heinous criminals.

After all, to Lance, ordinary criminals are just labor, he wouldn’t waste them.

”Do you meet or not?”

”Meet, of course need to meet, it’s part of the plan.”

Grendel didn’t care about Lance’s mystical demeanor but went out to carry out his words.

Soon, those stranded merchant ships received notice, getting the exact time.

Although unaware of what method the Lord has, they chose to believe.

After all, they had no more choices.

And the representative sent by the Association of Healers’ observation team, who had been kept outside the door, finally met the Lord.

It was the middle-aged man with a mustache, whose face didn’t show age, his body looked robust, dressed somewhat like a college professor, but the whole person’s temperament carried a sense of shrewdness, not seeming like a doctor scholar, more like a businessman or governor.

”I know what you want, I can tell you very clearly here, regarding leprosy treatment we succeeded, the so-called divine punishment is just a curable disease.

But the detailed treatment plan we can’t reveal, unless you can offer a condition that satisfies us, otherwise there’s no room for discussion.”

Lance opened directly with their most concerned issue, but the next second he pivoted the topic.

”Let’s skip this for now, you probably don’t have much authority to decide, so for now let’s discuss how much you can offer to interact with the Fishmen?

For money, I can let you visit the anatomy site, and with extra pay, take away the anatomy data directly, if the money’s sufficient you can take away the corpse yourself for research, no problem.”

Fishmen corpses are not rare resources, but they were pinched in Lance’s hand, of course they were.

What surprised that middle-aged man was that this Lord actually knew ’anatomy,’ and from his words, he was very familiar with this process.
