Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 964: Chapter 544: Twists and Turns (Part 2)

So the navy soldiers kept approaching over there, while the militia who had gotten back to their feet also headed over under command.

However, this action did not deter the determination of the fishmen; on the contrary, their reaction was even more intense.

Deep Sea Call!

This time, what blew from the coast was no longer a gentle sea breeze, but a more direct force.

Some elite fishmen warriors seemed to receive blessings from the deep sea, their entire state was enhanced, the exaggerated boost made them face the ordinary militia like cutting through vegetables.

As these strengthened fishmen charged into the formation, casualties began to spread rapidly, as soon as they breached the line.

Even the Mendicant Monk noticed the surging power, raised the magic wand and scattered the Holy Light, but it was hard to avert defeat, lacking an opponent with equivalent power, the vulnerability of humans was revealed once a disparity emerges.

But it should be known that these strengthened elites never targeted them; after tearing through the line, they directly charged at the two from the church.

The Candlelight Priest also realized the urgency of the situation, couldn’t help but raise the shield and blossom Holy Light to daze the enemies, but in the face of numerous enemies, it couldn’t be stopped, didn’t even have time for himself and once again activated the Knight’s Oath to protect the monk.

”Disperse, you blasphemous creatures!” The Mendicant Monk remained so calm, seemingly seeing through life and death long ago, with no intention of fleeing or dodging, the magic wand in his hand continuously unleashed divine power to clear approaching aberrant demons.

Even these strengthened fishmen still found it hard to resist the true power of faith, charred corpses almost filled the area around the monk.

But still hard to resist the blades and swords coming at him, although the Protection Ritual transferred the damage, it had its limits.

Because the Candlelight Priest had been bearing serious injuries, but his strong faith power was still maintaining his body standing guard in the front, executing the knight’s oath of protection.

And at this moment, a fishman hidden among the school of fish, its eyes gleaming with a strange light, finally revealed its killing intent at this moment, throwing a white object towards the Mendicant Monk.

It was a bone spear, with spiral patterns on it, like the bone of some kind of monster, or like the fang of some kind of giant beast, but without doubt, the spiritual fluctuations emerging from it carried unique extraordinary force.

The bone spear directly pierced through the Candlelight Priest’s oath of protection and impaled the Mendicant Monk’s chest, pinning his stooped body in place.

Blood immediately stained the white bone spear, the whole battlefield seemed dimmer a bit instantly, the frenzied sea wind howled, inexplicably drawing away everyone’s hopes.

Such an effect suffices to indicate that the power on that bone spear is breaking through the extraordinary ritual’s protection.

But it’s too late to know now, without the ritual’s protection, spellcasters become fragile, any fishman could kill the injured monk with a single slash.

And indeed, those grimacing fishmen swung a slash at the Mendicant Monk, intending to finish off this disturbing guy.

”Clang!”

A crisp sound rang, a wide broken sword blocked the fishman’s slash.

But those fishmen hadn’t realized the seriousness of the problem yet, their target was still on the Mendicant Monk, until the broken sword moved.

The broken sword swung out, and those fishmen were immediately cleaved in half, their scale armor as fragile as bubbles before that surging force, several slashed in one go.

Even the strengthened elite fishmen were no match for his single sword, even rusted blades were cut off, clearing the fishmen around the monk with such speed that surprised everyone.

At the same time, pulling out the bone spear piercing the Mendicant Monk, and throwing it backhand, with exaggerated force, the bone spear pierced through several fishmen at once.

Only then did everyone clearly see the figure, clad in bright yellow special armor, with a mask on the face, the exaggerated shaped broken sword grasped single-handedly.

The newcomer was the Legendary Swordsman——Baldwin!

But the battle was far from over, there were still many fishmen slaughtering the people of Hamlet, something Baldwin could not tolerate.

”Let them go, come at me——monsters!”

This shout seemed to carry a mocking magic that attracted the surrounding fishmen, his mercy was only for humans, could not help but roar and charge at those monsters.

Originally slaughtering ordinary people frantically, the fishmen stood no chance against equally unmatched Baldwin, their reactions couldn’t even keep up before being slashed by the powerful broken sword.

It should be known that Baldwin’s tall, strong body and the wielder of the great sword clearly indicate he is not famous for speed, thereby showing the disparity in strength.

But it also allows a comparison to Baldwin’s performance when tormented by leprosy, gasping for breath with every sword swing, nearly blind.

Until now, swinging his sword and slaughtering all around, that ferocious stance alone managed to scare those fishmen into not daring to approach easily.

Lance’s layout once again came into effect, and why before leaving, he had to heal him was to leave Hamlet with an insurance policy.

And Baldwin’s performance just now was worth the cost of Lance saving him.

Another pawn was placed by Lance on the table...

The destructive power a legendary warrior exhibits on the battlefield is extremely terrifying, they don’t need to like spellcasters, prepare rituals or weave spiritual essence, they just need to unleash the strength of that powerful body, more intuitively displayed.

On the battlefield, human armies facing such situations won’t charge in to die directly but will use various ranged weapons for attrition, with accompanying spellcasters or priests striking as well.

Only through ranged consumption and wave battles can they kill a champion or legendary being favored by the extraordinary, for becoming a champion or legendary itself implies being a transcendent.

In this regard, Count Bastia has the most to say, using part of Hamlet’s heritage, ambushing and killing several champions of the Barbarian Tribes with the church’s help, but it also required a fair amount of sacrifice.

However, these fishmen did not have experience or contingency plans to handle such a situation, after running rampant here for so long, it was their first encounter with such a situation.

The mermen tactics under the sword edge served no purpose, rather equivalent to feeding Baldwin at the mouth, within the short sword’s range, no complete fishman existed.

For a while, the focus initially gathered on the church’s two fell on Baldwin, those fishmen even had the notion of retreating.

You get stabbed once or twice with a spear and shield can still save you, getting hammered by the Candlelight Priest doesn’t necessarily kill, although the Candlelight Priest’s retribution is one-hit kill, it requires incantation and is single-target, not appearing so exaggerated.

But being slashed once by this thing can’t be patched back together!

The people of the church wouldn’t be so fragile, such injuries were far from sending the Mendicant Monk to meet the Holy Light, on the contrary, a single retribution sent back healed his wounds, apart from the scars on his robe, you couldn’t tell he was injured at all.

And the Candlelight Priest also recovered under the Holy Light, clearly just now on the brink of death, the surging divine power the next second calmed his injuries.

Critical hits might be regarded as fate’s favor for others, but for the Mendicant Monk, it’s just a daily event.

Killing can hardly demonstrate the monk’s strength, yet the moment they raise the magic wand, those who had fallen stood back up en masse, with the powerful force of the church being felt.

This constant ebb and flow of tension were highly stimulating, the church’s duo stood up reversing the downturn, but were quickly pushed back by the fish tide, resulting in the two heavily injured.

Sela was even about to run away, but then suddenly this guy appeared massacring all around, single-handedly stabilizing the crumbling situation.

Coming to this cursed place, the hearts nearly couldn’t withstand.

However, Sela seemed to sense something, this person was not that Lord, nor in this fleet.

So who is he? Such a small Hamlet, yet able to attract so many strong individuals?

”Is he your confidence?” Sela tentatively asked.

But Amanda instantly saw through her intention, chuckling dismissively.

”I know what you want to ask, but it’s not the time now.”
