Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 968: Chapter 546: What! There’s Another Expert? (Part 2)

”Damn it! We should have acted earlier.” Amanda couldn’t help but complain upon seeing the distant scene.

”No~we need to escape.” Sela’s gaze remained on the battlefield, feeling the airflow blowing against her face. It was not something human power could withstand.

Amanda knew there was no time to waste; this was the last chance. She immediately turned and reached out to her, ”If you’re scared, let me do it. Give me the thing.”

”You’re crazy; I’m not!” Sela was unwilling no matter what, frightened by the scene in front of her. This was her last hope for survival.

Without the protection of the ship, she feared she would be torn apart by the storm.

Sela’s timid demeanor directly made Amanda’s blood pressure soar. If it weren’t for this person delaying, and countering those Fishmen Shamans earlier, the situation wouldn’t have developed to this extent.

”If they lose, can we escape? We’ll all be buried!” Amanda reiterated once more, ”Now give me the thing immediately.”

However, Sela became more alert at this urging, couldn’t help but retreat half a step, her eyes seemingly guarding against Amanda taking it.

Are you serious about stepping back?

Sela’s action completely infuriated Amanda; the whole damn army is about to be wiped out, and yet you’re still guarding a broken ship? To use as a coffin?

”Not to mention our interests in Hamlet; if we fail, our investment will go up in smoke, and all our efforts will be in vain.

Not just us, you always say it’s for the clan, but don’t you know there’s a transaction between the organization and the Lord of Hamlet?

Moreover, have you considered that even if you escape, once Hamlet is destroyed, what will the Lord do when leading the army back and discovering all this?

I’d rather die than become his enemy; it’s you who gave up the hope of survival, casually pushing us Romani towards death.”

Amanda directly tore off the facade, exposing Sela’s connections.

”Do you know why the organization is hesitant to confirm your leadership position? You can’t even see such a simple situation; if your mother weren’t an Elder, you idiot wouldn’t have become the organization’s head in Totnes, let alone thinking about becoming the Empire’s head.

It seems your mother knows you well because a formal appointment would push everyone towards death, which is why she suppressed it, rather than the suppression you think.”

These words directly stupefied Sela, her expression peculiar.

Indeed, she had an Elder mother; even if she didn’t want to admit everything was brought by her mother, she couldn’t escape the influence.

”I’m giving you this, hand over the key.” Amanda said, taking out an item left by the Elder for her to communicate with the organization, which now counted as the organization’s token in the Empire’s circumstances.

Her intention was apparent; even Sela was a bit surprised.

”Are you really not afraid to die?”

”I’d rather die here than be buried with you.” Amanda had no more time to waste with her, yelling loudly, ”Hand over the thing now, then take this and go back to your mom for comfort!”

Seeing the token, Sela hesitated, but the next second made her decision.

”Take it, you bunch of lunatics!”

Sela gritted her teeth and handed over the key, also taking hold of the token.

Amanda did not care whether she wanted to escape or not; holding the key, she didn’t take action directly but turned her gaze over there once more.

Facing the terrifying storm, she couldn’t help but recall the divination results when Grendel sought her that night, making her hesitate for a moment.

Is the unformed storm terrifying? Or the man terrifying?

It seemed she wasn’t as resolute as she claimed...

Usually, before making an important decision, she liked divination and based decisions on the results.

This habit let her avoid many dangers and was crucial throughout her growth.

Before intervening, she couldn’t help but raise her hand to her chest, wanting to make a final divination for herself.

And at this moment, she noticed Baldwin entering the storm alone, stopping her hand movement, her expression slightly fierce.

My fate is mine, not Heaven’s!

Not giving herself a moment to regret, she directly activated the ritual on the ship.

The overlapping rituals erupted with formidable power, pushing her strength to its peak.

The violent air currents around the ship seemed to be pushed away under her will, even forming a spherical cover around the ship amidst the airflow disturbance.

The wind on the deck instantly calmed down, and only then did Sela focus on Amanda, emitting a strong spiritual light and even floating upwards.

Seeing the spiritual fluctuations surrounding Amanda, almost forming white electrical currents, she couldn’t help but exclaim.

”Madman! You’re all damn mad!”

When the water curtain was slashed open and the storm exposed, the monsters and humans on the battlefield involuntarily stopped, realizing this would be the key deciding true victory or defeat.

Even the Church Duo distanced themselves from the Deep Diver, feeling the situation irreversible.

”We have to save ourselves; we need to rally more people to launch a holy war to drive away these monsters, not stay here.” The Mendicant Monk, though hunched, walked briskly away from the battlefield.

Although the Candlelight Priest was filled with strong reluctance, he withdrew his gaze from the storm and followed.

It seemed their church members, even those with extreme piety, like the martyr-driven Mendicant Monk, did not carry the resolve to fight evil to the end.

On the contrary, they quickly tactically retreated, perhaps the reason they survived till now.

Hamlet indeed had no reason for a dead battle for them, but it did for many others.

Hence appeared a strange scene, shortly after the two withdrew, there was noise from behind, and turning back, they felt the strong spiritual fluctuations erupting from a ship on the dock.

What! There’s still an expert?

The storm, previously so overwhelming, suddenly dissipated at an absurd speed without warning, as if it happened in an instant.

Huh?

This situation dumbfounded people; what happened?

Not only humans but even the Fishmen were somewhat unresponsive.

Are you kidding me? Can a dragon-rider still lose?

Deprived of the power to sustain it, the storm was quickly worn down by natural force, beyond their mastery.

Yet beneath the disintegrating storm lay the massive amount of ocean water being transported, suspended briefly due to spell failure, but the next second fell under the pull of gravity.

The previous sprinkling of water forming rain, yet the volume of seawater falling now would not be a trivial matter.

Even with its exaggerated volume, neither could seawater endure it nor withstand the deafening roar after centuries of waves.

The exaggerated noise made everyone feel as if the earth was shaking.

Fortunately, those Fishmen Shamans stayed in the water, unwilling to land, keeping some distance from everyone, avoiding immediate direct harm.

Yet, secondary harm was unpredictable, the massive seawater falling causing a surge to crash.

It didn’t look like a wave tens of meters high, but those familiar with the sea knew it’s something human power couldn’t contend with.

Once the formation is scattered, the Fishmen’s battle strength in water would be different.

The Fishmen seemed to perceive this as the Shaman’s final ripple.

A shocking tsunami!

Assuming the situation stabilized, this inexplicably triggered wave surged ashore; the Fishmen did not fear but planned to integrate into it, becoming part.

Yet humans were left throwing aside helmets and scatter, fleeing under cries of escape.

The Church Duo, already halfway gone, didn’t hesitate before directly fleeing upon witnessing.

And then an angry roar echoed, a person wearing a Deer Head mask, bizarrely styled, surged upstream directly facing the raging wave.

”Feel the fury of nature!”
