Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 967: Chapter 546: What! There’s Another Expert?

At this moment, Baldwin had already charged forward; the water curtain was right in front of him. Nothing could stop the Holy Light or his sword.

But just then, a wide and thick Great Shield emerged from the water curtain, blocking the broken sword.

The metallic clash drew everyone’s attention, as they saw a twisted figure emerge from the water curtain... crawling? Or swimming?

In any case, what came out was even more grotesque than the Fishmen.

Its form was no longer human, resembling a soft-bodied creature, with bluish-purple skin, mostly lacking scales, except for light scale traces on both arms.

Its upper body bore a head that was ugly and bloated like a blobfish, with several dark coral cysts by its gills.

Its wide body had chains draped around the chest and abdomen, holding a disc with special patterns, resembling a shield.

Its lower body was made up entirely of thick, twisted tentacles, moving like an enlarged ocean cephalopod, making it indescribable at first glance.

Interestingly, its hands were somewhat similar to those of the Fishmen, equipped with sharp claws and hard scales, drastically different from the lower body or other soft body features, looking as if crafted recklessly by a drunken creator, revealing discordance.

However, more prominent was its luxury equipment, unlike the ragged weapons of the Fishmen warriors.

In its right hand, it wielded a rare weapon, a Fist Blade, into which its forearm was inserted.

Its left hand held a medium-sized shield of dark gold with shell and squid reliefs.

This creature clearly wasn’t ordinary, for generally, Deep Divers weren’t qualified for such gear; its shield signifying its role as a Guard.

As for what it was guarding, it could only be the Fishmen Shaman behind it.

Since about a dozen Deep Diving Guards were emerging with shields from the water curtain, the one before him was first to swing its Fist Blade at him.

Giant Squid Fist Blade!

Baldwin clashed swords with it, feeling the decent power from his opponent, making his face beneath the mask turn serious.

Fight ten like Baldwin? He wouldn’t flinch, having overcome leprosy, his self-confidence was firm.

But the issue now was not getting tangled with these guards as the Spiritual Essence drawn by the Shaman was growing richer, the gathering mist even forming a thin fog upon the sea.

What was more worrying was the increasingly exaggerated sound of the crashing waves, as if the whole water body was a shaken soda.

Such suffocation intensified Baldwin’s unease; he must find a way to interrupt the Shaman’s casting quickly.

Baldwin didn’t wish to entangle with the guard, yet the rows of squids blocked him like shield walls.

His sword strikes on those shields were largely ineffective; the unique structure of the soft bodies allowed them to endure greater force. The thick tentacles, though slow, formed a solid foundation when spread out.

Instead, Baldwin had to guard against being smashed on the head by the ax-like heavy Fist Blades.

He wasn’t wearing a helmet; being hit wouldn’t be pleasant at all.

As they say, ’a chaotic fist can kill a master fighter,’ Baldwin now found himself in such a predicament, with Deep Diving Guards constantly pressing with shields and the mixed Fist Blades carrying a bit of treachery.

Such is the plight of an individual against a group; they don’t have to be stronger, just tire and squeeze your living space.

Once caught up, it becomes awkward; even if you can fight for days, exhaustion will eventually set in.

Monsters have enough expendables and can afford many losses, but Baldwin only needs one loss to be fatal!

But did they really think he was that easy to bully?

You could see the fractured sword coming down, taking advantage of the Guard lifting a shield, feigning one move only to transform smoothly into a sweeping slash.

A weapon that would be considered massive to a normal person appeared effortlessly maneuverable in his hands, not an ounce of clumsiness.

The target wasn’t above, but below.

Stepping on toes is for children, so Baldwin directly severed those tentacles.

Meanwhile, from afar, the Mendicant Monk raised his Magic Wand, sending out a burning adjudication to disrupt the other guards.

Though not grilling squid quite yet, the effect was significantly reduced. These guards’ special structure seemed to augment their Life Force.

However, with the monk’s help, Baldwin had already breached the guard’s blockade line, striding through water and slashing toward the water curtain.

Why was he confident of cutting through the Shaman’s spell? Of course, he possessed the ability to disrupt Supernatural Power.

Purge!

The surging power instantly tore apart the water curtain, with residual spell droplets falling and forming a brief rain shower over Baldwin.

Amidst the raindrops, Baldwin saw the Shamans raising their magic wands, summoning something; seemingly a storm of violent power was forming, visibly swirling.

Before the turbulent airflow, the seawater got caught up and mixed, lashing at him like blades.

He dared not guess what terrifying sorcery that required dozens of Shamans could be, but at that moment, Baldwin reversed his broken sword, planted it before himself to steady his stance, then looked ahead, exhaled a deep, soot-laden breath, as if quickly recovering from the earlier exhaustion.

”The mountain laughs at the waves breaking against the rocks.”

Having calmly spoken, Baldwin didn’t hesitate at all to charge into that storm.

The waves that could destroy rocks couldn’t destroy the mountain, and at this moment, he was the mountain...
