Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Xiao Bailu’s lip twitched slightly: ”Well... *cough cough cough*, I was cursing a thief, yes, I thought a thief had come.”

She was unexpectedly overheard by that jerk man with her complaints, she’ll have to be more careful next time.

Luckily, Huo Tingzun didn’t dwell on that term but continued coldly, ”As a lawyer’s assistant, you don’t even have the basic vigilance and precautionary mindset, just casually going off with others; you should reflect on whether you are fit for this job.”

Xiao Bailu didn’t know what wind the man was blowing again, but she absolutely couldn’t lose this job.

So, despite feeling annoyed, she explained, ”I don’t just follow anyone casually. Didn’t you recognize that person just now? He’s a popular male celebrity; I was just watching his drama today.”

Turns out she recognized that guest to go with him.

Seems like the silly woman isn’t entirely hopeless.

Huo Tingzun’s expression slightly softened, but he still snorted disdainfully, ”What celebrity, just an actor.”

Xiao Bailu puckered her lips, ”Your words are so unpleasant. He’s not just an actor; he graduated from a proper film academy. His name is Qi Yu. ’Charming and elegant like jade’ describes little handsome guys like him. You don’t know, he’s really nice, whatever I cook for him, he always says it tastes great. Plus, he’s courteous, especially patient with girls, and when he talks to you, he always keeps eye contact, gentle and focused. No wonder the actresses who work with him praise him so highly, even the most picky Shen Bixue couldn’t find fault with him...”

Xiao Bailu was full of praise for Qi Yu.

Huo Tingzun’s recently eased expression instantly clouded over again.

Does everything others eat taste great? Does my cooking not taste great?

Is he courteous to others? Have I bullied or hit you?

Does he talk while looking into your eyes? Do I talk while staring at your chest?

Is he charming and elegant? Am I just a fish eye?

A nameless fire surged within Huo Tingzun one wave after another.

He couldn’t help but blurt out, ”Of course such pretty boys sweet-talk women because they are good for nothing else!”

Xiao Bailu was stunned.

Then she frowned and said, ”That’s personal attack, Huo Tingzun, didn’t expect your character to be so bad, your words so unpleasant. Are you just jealous that other men are younger, handsome, kinder, and have more gentlemanly demeanor than you? Unfortunately, you’re really wrong about him, he’s talented, also super wealthy and generous. Just now I cooked for an hour, and he immediately gave me this amount.”

Xiao Bailu waved a check in front of him.

Huo Tingzun only saw several zeros, didn’t see the amount before she put away the check.

”So, stop being jealous of others, Huo Tingzun, reflect on yourself seriously!” Xiao Bailu turned and stomped into her room on high heels.

Leaving Huo Tingzun alone in the living room, full of rage with nowhere to vent.

Reflect?

Does he need to reflect?

Woman, don’t you understand the situation!

The next day.

Xiao Bailu made seafood porridge for breakfast.

The ingredients were given by Qi Yu downstairs, a whole Alaskan king crab, extremely fresh.

After cooking, she first dished out a bowl to cool, then went downstairs and delivered a bowl to Qi Yu.

When she returned, the bowl was neither hot nor cold, just right to eat.

But, the usually eager-to-eat Huo Tingzun, the bedroom door was tightly shut, still hadn’t opened.

”Did the sun rise from the north today? That jerk is not keen on eating?”
