Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Huo Tingzun finished his shower and put on a bathrobe, intending to go straight to sleep.

Yet, for some reason, his gaze fell on the trash can.

Inside was a resume he had thrown away during the day.

The woman on the resume had inexplicably splashed a face full of iced coffee on him.

”Ha, ridiculous woman!”

Expressionless, he bent down to pick up the resume from the trash can and glanced at the woman’s photo on it.

Young, innocent, with a kind of serene classical beauty.

Not much like her current charming and coquettish demeanor.

”Just a photo, and she’s already being deceitful... the vanity of women!”

He scoffed disdainfully.

Then...

He directly fed the resume into the shredder.

”Creak, creak, creak...”

As the shredder continued to devour the paper, the resume turned into fine shreds.

Huo Tingzun inexplicably felt a sense of relief, rubbing the spot over his heart.

It seemed to have been heavily burdened just now, occasionally twitching lightly.

He returned to the large bed and fell asleep.

It was just a woman he had an unpleasant encounter with in a café, not worth mentioning.

The next day.

For the convenience of Huo Tingzun, the location of the partner interviews at Huo’s Law Firm was set at the Imperial Mansion Hotel Meeting Room.

He had just returned to the country, and Huo’s temporarily found him a female secretary to carry the documents for him and diligently reported on the partner interview preparations:

”President, all the partner resumes have been verified without errors. There are a total of 15 candidates for today’s interviews, each will have a five-minute individual meeting with you, plus the time for your questions; it will take about two hours altogether. After the interviews, I’ve arranged a meeting dinner in the restaurant on the 18th floor. You just need to attend for half an hour to dine with the new partners as a gesture of welcome. Next...”

The female secretary was very confident in the schedule she arranged for the President. She had stayed up late to organize the information, remembering every single detail of the schedule clearly.

However.

Huo Tingzun interrupted her with a stern expression: ”What’s the maximum shareholding a partner can have in the law firm? What is the profit-sharing ratio?”

The female secretary was taken aback.

”Shares... shares... I’ll check... please hold on...”

She frantically rummaged through the materials in her hands, but they were all interview-related, with nothing pertaining to professional issues like shares or profit-sharing, making it impossible for her to answer this question.

Huo Tingzun frowned: ”With this level of competence, how do you serve as a secretary? I need more than just a schedule-reciting machine.”

The female secretary felt like dying.

The President was really hurting her pride; no matter how hard she worked, because she couldn’t answer one question, she was humiliated as a machine?

At that moment.

A proud and confident voice answered from behind: ”The Empire has just revised the Partner Law, stipulating that in a company with more than five partners, the shareholding ratio must not exceed thirty percent. In partnerships with more than ten individuals, a single partner’s shareholding ratio must not exceed twenty percent, with the profit-sharing ratio following suit. The purpose is to limit the partners’ rights and avoid disputes. The partnership system is originally the most unstable form of company composition in the private sector, and the Empire has solidified relevant guarantees with the law. However, I think it’s redundant. Corporate competition is inherently brutal; incompetent partners having their shares swallowed up is only to be expected.”

This answer not only perfectly addressed Huo Tingzun’s question.

It also offered additional insights and opinions.

The legal clause was recited word for word, with nothing missed.

Huo Tingzun couldn’t help but pause and look back.
