Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

After the plane took off, Huo Tingzun felt something was wrong.

He cast a glance backward, and sure enough, he saw that woman actually sitting on his private jet.

”It’s you again?!”

His eyes darkened.

Xiao Bailu squinted: ”President, that’s not fair. What do you mean by ’it’s me again’?”

Huo Tingzun: ”Get off! This is not a place you should be in.”

Xiao Bailu: ”But this is my job, and you don’t have a parachute on the plane. How am I supposed to get off?”

Huo Tingzun’s face fell: ”Who gave you this job?”

Xiao Bailu: ”Your Huo Law Firm, of course. Sorry, let me introduce myself. My name is Xiao Bailu. I’m a legal assistant at the firm and your new secretary.”

Huo Tingzun’s breath caught.

With a gloomy face, he dialed a number: ”Who changed my secretary? I mean, who let that woman on my plane! Forget about this month’s salary and bonuses.”

He berated the lawyer responsible for personnel arrangements and coldly hung up the phone.

”The Huo Family won’t employ you. Leave on your own when we get to Qingcheng.”

Asshole.

Xiao Bailu cursed silently.

With a slight smile, she calmly responded: ”I’m really sorry. I signed an employment contract with the Huo Family, which takes effect this afternoon according to Imperial City law. I haven’t made any work mistakes, so you can’t fire me. Otherwise, you’d be breaking the law. I suppose, as the top law firm in the country, the Huo Family would have many peers waiting to see such a legal mishap, right? Want to give it a try?”

Xiao Bailu’s voice was calm and cheerful, like a light breeze, but in Huo Tingzun’s ears, it made him want to choke her on the spot.

Using the law to threaten him?

Huh.

An arrogant woman who doesn’t know her limits.

Although it made Huo Tingzun very unhappy, Xiao Bailu played her card well.

For the rest of the flight, Huo Tingzun didn’t mention anything about kicking her off the plane again.

No matter how much he didn’t want to see her, he had to endure the journey.

As soon as they got off the plane,

Huo Tingzun strode towards the business car waiting ahead to pick him up.

Xiao Bailu had to jog with her suitcase to barely keep up.

Huo Tingzun coldly raised a hand to stop her: ”You don’t need to follow. Find yourself a hotel. Once I’m done, fly back to Imperial City on your own in three days.”

Was he planning to leave her hanging?

Not firing her, but not letting her get involved in his core business either, giving her the cold shoulder until she gives up?

Ha, if she was so easily discouraged, she wouldn’t be Xiao Bailu.

Xiao Bailu squinted, directly countering: ”President, I’m really sorry, but I can’t leave your side because the client you’re meeting in Qingcheng is Spanish. Although you speak ten languages, you don’t know Spanish. And it just so happens that I do.”

She knew Huo Tingzun too well.

Just like knowing herself, she was familiar with all his preferences, secrets, and everything, never forgetting a thing.

Huo Tingzun was taken aback for a moment.

He hadn’t expected anyone to know he didn’t speak Spanish.

However, he quickly regained his composure: ”We have a translator, we don’t need you.”

Xiao Bailu smiled cheerfully: ”No, you do need me. The translator you hired has diarrhea and took leave, never boarded the plane. By the way, we checked the translation agencies in Qingcheng early on, and there’s no available Spanish translator for hire. So...”

So you can only choose me.

She smiled silently, which only increased the urge in Huo Tingzun’s heart to want to choke her.
