Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

”I might really not have any talent for cooking...” Qin Xin said wistfully.

The man behind her twitched his lips slightly and thought to himself, woman, it’s not that you lack culinary talent, you are simply a disaster in the kitchen.

”Forget it, go pack your things. Don’t touch the kitchen, I’ll handle it.” The man pushed her into the bedroom, rolled up the sleeves of his white robe, and headed straight for the kitchen.

Qin Xin blinked her big eyes.

Master Tuantuan told her to pack her bags... does that mean he agrees to let her stay?

It was worth her rushing back and forth late at night, her ankles almost twisted from all the running.

She rubbed her feet, which had little blisters from the small boots, ”Hiss—” she drew in a breath of cool air.

She had just changed into her home pajamas.

A knock sounded at the door.

Qin Xin’s top button was still undone, and she quickly went to open the door, ”Master?”

The man glanced at the white of her neckline, his gaze searing for a moment before he quickly looked away, acting very proper like a gentleman, ”Come out for a midnight snack.”

Qin Xin’s eyes lit up, ”There’s a midnight snack?”

Suddenly she felt like her happy little days had started again.

The man laid out a wooden tray and soft cushions on the bamboo mat in the main room.

A bowl of bamboo mushroom and conch porridge emitted a fresh, sweet aroma.

This was the first time Qin Xin was allowed into the man’s bedroom.

She couldn’t help but glance around; simple and neat, the room had nothing unnecessary. Besides the bamboo couch and light gauze curtains, there were no other decorations.

The style certainly was cold and aloof.

However, despite the cold demeanor, Master’s bedroom was quite warm. She didn’t see him chopping wood to light a stove; how was it this warm?

She took off her shoes and climbed onto the bamboo couch.

Unceremoniously, she picked up the bowl and, taking small sips, savored the fragrant porridge.

As she was about to finish the bowl, she realized something was off, ”Aren’t you eating, Master?”

The man had only prepared one bowl of porridge and was drinking tea himself.

”I’m not hungry.”

He looked at her.

Qin Xin felt a little embarrassed.

”So you made midnight snack just for me...”

Master Tuantuan had always been indifferent to people, but tonight he seemed a bit different.

Could it be because she came back to find him, and he was touched, haha.

Qin Xin chuckled twice but then suddenly exclaimed, ”Ouch.”

The joy turned to sadness.

The small blister on her foot was poked by a sharp piece of bamboo on the couch, and a little blood oozed out instantly.

She hurriedly covered it with her pant leg to avoid dirtying Master Tuantuan’s clean bedroom.

But the man noticed.

He turned around to get the first-aid box.

As his hand touched the delicate wooden box containing emergency supplies, he paused, seemed to think of something, and instead of taking out the whole box, he just took some alcohol swabs and a band-aid.

When he returned, he glanced at the woman who was pretending nothing had happened and still drinking porridge, and said softly, ”Stick out your foot.”

Qin Xin curled her little foot.

”Huh? What did you say?”

Seeing the woman feign ignorance, the man was speechless for a moment. He stopped wasting words and directly stretched out his hand to lift her pant leg, holding the slender ankle in his hand.

Such delicacy made one’s heart ache.

And at the same time, it was so white that it made his throat tighten!

He took a deep breath, finally managing to maintain some composure, and knelt beside the couch, placing her little foot on his white-robed knee, ”It might hurt a bit, bear with it.”

Qin Xin’s heart was pounding in her throat.

Master Tuantuan was very different tonight.

Although doctors don’t distinguish between genders, being held by the ankle like this by her master made her feel a bit uncomfortable, a bit shy, and even wanting to escape. The usual playful words teasing the master couldn’t come out, anything like Tang Seng and the little demon, or homebody, she felt like she had become a little white rabbit caught by a hunter?
