Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Xiao Bailu served a big bowl of congee with dried scallops and mushrooms, grinding fine Himalayan pink salt to season it.

”Is this... just congee?” Huo Tingzun couldn’t believe his eyes.

The aroma of the food, so fragrant, yet it was just a simple bowl of congee.

But, the aroma that wafted over surpassed all the delicacies he had tasted in his life.

”What, you don’t like it? If you don’t like it, don’t eat it. I didn’t make any for you anyway.” Xiao Bailu pursed her lips. She only made two small bowls.

Huo Tingzun took a deep breath, strode into the kitchen, grabbed the two bowls of congee and left, without looking back.

Xiao Bailu waved the ladle: ”Hey, hey, that’s my congee... wait, I haven’t finished adding the salt yet...”

Huo Tingzun: ”...”

Without saying a word, he started eating it at the table, stuffing his mouth with large bites.

The hotel’s fast food was the worst thing he’d ever tasted.

He couldn’t endure it any longer after a whole day.

Those fast foods hardly counted as food, they were more like fodder! Fodder!

This bowl right here, that’s what real food should be.

When Xiao Bailu hurriedly came over with the salt shaker and chopsticks, the man had already finished off a small bowl.

She looked at the empty bowl somewhat speechlessly: ”That was my congee...”

Huo Tingzun thought for a moment: ”Then, I’ll leave you some.”

He divided the second bowl into two portions, giving her half: ”Aren’t girls supposed to diet and eat less at night? I’m just supervising you.”

Xiao Bailu: ”...”

She’s not fat, she doesn’t need to lose weight!

Reluctantly eating the remaining small half bowl, as she cleaned up the dishes, she found the man watching her eagerly.

”Why are you looking at me?” Xiao Bailu asked irritably.

”Can you... make another bowl?” Huo Tingzun stared at the congee bowl. For some reason, the taste of the congee made him so captivated, it felt like rediscovering a long-lost precious flavor.

The taste missing from his memory but sensed honestly by his body.

Xiao Bailu shuddered.

”You want more?”

Huo Tingzun nodded heavily: ”Mmm.”

Xiao Bailu smiled mischievously, looking at him with interest.

Though Huo Tingzun had turned into a troublesome man, some things hadn’t changed; he still lacked basic life skills.

Couldn’t shop or cook.

Moreover, anything she cooked could easily conquer his appetite.

Ah, men, their bodies really don’t lie.

Xiao Bailu laughed seductively: ”Want to eat what I cook? Ha, that depends on my mood tomorrow!”

”Master, how do you make everything taste so good? What special ingredients did you add...”

Qin Xin drank a big bowl of fish soup and was still craving more, almost ready to lick the bowl clean.

The man pressed his lips lightly.

His elegant white robe fluttered in the wind: ”Nothing special.”

Just wanting to see a look of satisfaction from someone he cared about when eating, trying his best to cater to her appetite.

Qin Xin sadly: ”Never mind, even if there’s a secret recipe, I couldn’t make it taste like this.”

Cooking was a hurdle she couldn’t overcome.

No matter how she learned, she’d fail miserably.

The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed: ”It’s alright.”

It’s alright, it doesn’t matter, as long as Master Yun is here.

Qin Xin kept talking, her expression growing increasingly melancholic.

She thought about Mr. Nalan.

Such an excellent man, such good cooking skills too.

During her time staying at Xinghe Bay with Mr. Nalan, she seemed to wait every day for delicious food to be delivered effortlessly.

Such a good man, why was he Lan Qingxin’s weird brother?

How could she face him in the future?

Seeing Qin Xin suddenly fall silent.

The man looked at her inquisitively: ”Who are you... thinking about?”

Qin Xin blurted out without thinking: ”A man.”

Her body stiffened, the man suddenly felt like the soup had too much vinegar.

[Master Yun: Goodnight kiss! Sweet sugar, don’t you think? Did anyone notice the completely opposite little detail in these two pairings? Master wants to know if you prefer being a fairy who cooks for herself or having a man cook for you?]
