I AM the Football Star

Also possessing perfect team coordination.

How could such a team not be strong?

Besides seven league games, there were also two Italian Cup matches during this period.

San Remo had good luck, not encountering opponents from Serie A, so they resolutely sent their substitute squad to compete.

But the substitutes of San Remo are no longer what they used to be.

Players like Calafiori, Versachi, Fernandez, and Naji are solid starters in Serie B, let alone facing children from the Italian Third Division?

In the two cup matches, San Remo players also blossomed in multiple points, scoring eight goals with only one conceded, utterly dominant.

Belletti showed his remaining strength, with limited time in the league; he was like a god in the league cup. As a substitute, he scored three goals in two matches, a terrifying efficiency.

Versachi contributed one goal and three assists in the two matches, becoming the perfect core of the substitute team, showcasing his abilities.

The truth is, if it weren’t for San Remo’s powerful midfield with Morici and Lu Yang, Versachi would have been promoted long ago!

Versachi suffers because he overlaps with the two core players in style.

And in terms of defensive capability alone, Latu Yidi, Lam, and Kaint are all stronger than him, so he almost always comes off the bench in crucial matches.

But Versachi is not anxious; he feels the current level of competition is quite good.

It allows him a relatively saturated number of matches, along with some time to think and learn.

In this state, he is satisfied for at least one or two years.

At his growth rate, in two years, starting in Serie A’s midfield will be no problem for him.

By then, San Remo will probably need to consider Versachi’s position.

But two years is a long time, who can say for sure?

Perhaps by then, San Remo’s roster will need considerable changes again.

After seven league matches, San Remo further expanded its lead.

However, during a team meeting, Sotu explicitly discussed the upcoming arrangements with key players like Lu Yang and Morici.

Next, San Remo will enter a rotation phase, much like the latter part of the first half of the season.

Because San Remo, in its three competitions, is entering a critical phase.

Not long from now, on February 16th, San Remo will face their first Europa League knockout match in club history!

San Remo vs. Portuguese giants Porto!

Speaking of which, Porto has an old acquaintance of Lu Yang.

That would be their starting central forward, the Star of Italy, Parrot!

If it weren’t for being just half a year too old to join this summer’s European Youth Championship, Sogel might not even have been the main central forward of the Italy National Youth Team.

...

San Remo, tactics discussion room.

”Kaint’s integration has been much faster than we expected; it’s almost seamless,” Old Tom reported, distributing some data sheets to everyone present, ”but the Lam and Kaint combination also leads to a problem.”

”Lam, in his early days as a central defender, mainly handled sweeping, attacking, and supporting roles, leaving the ball mostly to another central defender teammate to manage.”

”This led to his inadequacy in handling the ball, especially in organizing and delivering, which are a bit weak. In the defensive midfielder position, this weakness becomes more pronounced.”

The requirements for abilities differ between a central defender and a defensive midfielder.

Lam excels in movement and attacking as a central defender and has no shortfalls in passing and ball control.

But placing the same ability in the defensive midfielder position, his movement and attacking become average at best, capable of vertical protection but unable to provide strong lateral protection.

Moreover, his ball control and passing are even subpar among defensive midfielders.

Of course, there are gains and losses.

His physical fitness and individual defensive abilities are very strong in the defensive midfielder position.

Moreover, he can seamlessly switch defenses with the central defenders and has excellent offside trap abilities.

And Kaint, his lateral protection is unmatched!

He can even cover the entire field in defense.

Such a player is hard to come by, and San Remo has both Kaint and Lu Yang.

But Kaint’s passing is equally poor!

His rhythmic dribbling is better than Lam’s, but his fast dribbling is extremely poor; he has decent power in his feet, but his long passes and long shots are ridiculously off mark.

Thus, San Remo’s backfield has passing ability, and the midfield and front have it too.

But the passing ability of the defensive midfielder is too weak, which is a disadvantage.

When Morici, as the attacking midfielder, pushes forward, San Remo often flies on both wings.

Central defenders need to carry the defensive burden, and many times passing is left to the defensive midfielder.

If the defensive midfielder can’t pass, then the wings that take off always have to come back for the ball, and naturally can’t really take flight.

Moreover, the tactic of flying on both wings has another conventional approach, which is to spread the wings and pull apart the opponent’s formation horizontally.

The defensive midfielder can make a killer through pass in the middle, directly delivering the ball to the central forward’s feet to launch an attack.

What is a conventional approach?

It’s basically an offense that appears five or six times in a match.

If Lam or Kaint has one reliable pass, they should successfully deliver about three or five of these chances. And with San Remo’s frontline and Morici’s abilities, launching two or three threatening attacks and scoring one or two goals from these chances is possible, right?

Scoring even one goal in a football match often already determines the outcome.

So that’s a link San Remo still has to tackle!

Frankly, that’s San Remo’s last problem currently.

Their roster structure and playstyle are actually close to perfect!

Once the formation is honed to 100% level, the next step is just to wait for the players’ improvement and performances.

Such a team with a perfect formation can often burst out with extremely strong combat power.

The mighty Barça with their perfected tiki-taka, invincible in the universe.

Bayern’s perfected 235, also known as a mass destruction machine!

And now, San Remo with their near-perfect 352 and 4123 formations, is at a critical point of transformation.

Once the issue of passing from the defensive midfielder is resolved, their field control will become terrifying!

”Kaint, why are your passes always so off?” Sotu asked straightforwardly.

Kaint’s dark face turned a shade of red, though others might not notice it, he felt embarrassed: ”I don’t know either, I know where I should kick the ball, but I can’t do it, I’ve always had some accuracy issues with my passing.”

Morici snickered on the side.

Bro!

That’s not just some issues.

Your short passes on the move could deviate by about two meters, honestly, even defenders don’t pass that poorly.

Stationary or in slow motion, your medium-range passes often deviate by over a meter, really, no midfielders are like this.

Sotu, being a player from a past era, could do dirty work, yet his passing is better than yours!

Sotu was full of black lines, always feeling someone was dissing him.

At that moment, Lu Yang, who had been watching Kaint’s passing failures repeatedly, suddenly had an idea.

”Can you take off your shoes?” Lu Yang looked at Kaint.

Kaint’s face turned red again: ”My feet smell a bit, can you all bear with it?”

Everyone in the room quickly stuffed tissues into their nostrils, signaling Kaint to start the show.

A pair of unremarkable feet.

Everyone looked at Lu Yang, not knowing what he was going to say.

”Balance!” Lu Yang said, ”An entertainment star once said, you lack a bit of balance! Kaint is just like that!”

”Look at Kaint’s toes; proportionally, they are obviously longer than the normal length.”

”I mean no offense to Kaint; this is a normal physical trait. From a genetic standpoint, it’s a type of atavistic feature. Such people have feet that act more like a hand.”

”Due to this, he has excellent explosion power, with strong instant acceleration and second acceleration ability, which is why he always has way more steals and interceptions than others, as he can constantly latch onto the opponent like a hand with these hand-like feet.”

”However, this is also the reason why he’s uncomfortable with kicking the ball hard.”

After Lu Yang finished speaking, many people suddenly realized the situation.

So it wasn’t a kicking problem at all.

They were physiological features causing the issue?

”Indeed! I’ve never liked kicking the ball hard because it easily hurts my toes, even from a young age.”

Once Kaint finished, many realized the truth.

So this isn’t a kicking problem?

This is a problem with physiological structure?

”Indeed! I never liked kicking the ball hard; it easily strains my toes. Ever since I was young, I discovered that my toes are a bit larger than they should be.”/p>

Lu Yang finished speaking, and several people finally realized it.

So this isn’t a kicking problem?

It’s a physiological structure issue?

”Kaint, do you have any shoe endorsements?”

”Have you checked out HXLT?”
